I know it's been a long time and I am really sorry about that, but I've made this chapter a little longer and I will be updating very quickly after this to try and make up for lost time. Please drop me a line when you're done reading.

"So you and the Director? It seems like a conflict of interest to me." At Gibbs' look of confusion Hollis continued, "The Director being married to one of her top agents seems like it could to lead to some issues of favoritism, among other things."
Gibbs smirked, it appeared that Hollis assumed they were just recently married. She was in for a surprise. He was about to correct her when Kate came careening into the bullpen. She plopped down at Tony's desk and logged into his computer.
"Hi Dad! I found the perfect gift for Tony on ebay while I was on my way here, but my phone died so hopefully the bidding hasn't ended." Kate said without looking up.
"What exactly is it that you found him?" Gibbs asked rather curious.
"It's the whole series of Magnum PI which is the show set in Hawaii with the detective that wears those really ugly Hawaiian shirts." Kate explained before letting out a triumphant cheer. "Tony is going to love this!" Kate looked up from the computer to see a blonde dressed in Army fatigues leaning against her father's desk. Kate stood and approached the woman. She raked her eyes over the Colonel before introducing herself.
"Caitlin Gibbs, but most people call me Kate."
"Colonel Hollis Mann, Army CID."
Hollis was completely floored. She had no idea Gibbs had a daughter. It also made her earlier hypothesis incorrect, it appeared that Gibbs and the Director had been together for a longer period of time then she thought. There was no mistaking that Kate was Jenny's daughter.
"So you know how the apartment is being painted next week?" Kate asked Gibbs. At his nod she continued, "Well, the painters don't want us their so I was wondering if we could stay at the house?"
"That's fine. I only have one request: no funny business whether I'm there or not."
Kate looked shocked, "You mean Tony can stay in my room?"
"I am nowhere naive enough to believe that you and Tony sleep in different bedrooms at the apartment. And as your mother likes to point out you are an adult who, for the most part, makes good decisions." Gibbs pointed out.
"Thank you, Daddy!" Kate said leaning across the desk and kissing Gibbs on the cheek. "I'm going to go see Abby. She wants to start working on wedding plans." With that Kate hurried to the back elevator.
Hollis was the first to break the silence, "I'm going to assume that Kate is Tony's Fiancé."
Gibbs sighed, "That she is."
"How old is she?"
"She's going to be 20 in July and before you ask, Jen and I have been married for almost 21 years."
Hollis looked thoughtful for a second, "I would like to apologize for my behavior during this case."
Gibbs just shrugged his shoulders. He could tell she wasn't genuinely sorry, but he really couldn't care less. She was going to be out of his hair within the hour.
"I don't want to pry, but isn't Kate a little young to be getting married?" Hollis asked
Gibbs shrugged his shoulders again, "Jen and I were high school sweethearts, so it hard to criticize Kate. She is too young in my opinion, but I can't say no to her. Tony is a good guy and I know he has Kate's best interests at heart. Tony can be downright stupid occasionally, but that doesn't mean I don't like him."
As Gibbs was finishing his thought the team flooded back into the bullpen. "Shucks Boss, I like you too." Tony replied smartly. He was about to say something else but was cut-off by a scathing glare sent in his direction. "Alrighty then I'm just going to finish my paper work." Tony said, hastily returning to his desk.
"Actually it can be finished on Monday. Go enjoy your weekend." Gibbs said addressing the team. McGee, Ziva, and Tony stared at him like he had grown a second head. "Well what are you waiting for? Get outta here!"
Gibbs smirked as the team gathered their things and rushed out of the bullpen. He then stood, shrugged on his coat and offered his hand to Hollis, "It has been a pleasure working with you Colonel Mann."
Hollis shook his hand, "Likewise Agent Gibbs. Congratulations on the baby and good luck with the wedding."
Gibbs watched as Hollis made her way to the elevator. He was broken out of his thoughts when he felt Jenny step up beside him. "Where's the team?"
"I sent them home. The paperwork can be finished next week."
Jenny looked at him skeptically, "Are you feeling alright? Usually you demand that they finish everything before the weekend."
"What can I say? I really just wanted to spend Friday evening with my beautiful wife, not babysitting agents." Gibbs answered, while pulling her toward the stairs.
While waiting for the elevator Hollis turned around and watched Jenny and Jethro walk across the catwalk. Jenny laughed and pushed Gibbs playfully because of something he said. He retaliated by pulling her close and tickling her side. Hollis' insides burned with jealousy. Jenny had the perfect job, the perfect family and the perfect husband. And all she had was a lonely house on an army base. She watched as the couple disappeared into Jenny's office before she climbed into the elevator, admitting defeat.

Christmas Eve found the Gibbs family plus Tony in Stillwater, Pennsylvania spending Christmas with Jackson. Gibbs and Jenny hadn't told anyone but Ducky about the baby. They were going to tell Jackson, Kate, and Tony on Christmas morning and the team at New Years.
Jenny's pregnancy had been plagued with morning sickness. The only reason no one had questioned her illness was because Kate had finals and the team had a double homicide the week before Christmas. Jenny's morning sickness was usually reserved for early mornings and she was, for the most part, better by late morning early afternoon. As of late it seemed like instead of being sick she was just nauseous.
After Christmas Eve dinner, everyone was gathered on the family room. Gibbs and Jenny on the love seat, Kate and Tony on the couch, and Jackson on the lazy boy.
"Mom? How exactly did you and Dad meet?" Kate asked randomly, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen over the room.
"What is it with you and stories all of a sudden?" Jenny questioned
"I realized that I really don't know that much about you guys before I came into the picture."
Jenny sighed and addressed Gibbs, "Do you want to tell the story or should I?"
"You go ahead and start. I'll throw my two cents in."
"Near the end of my junior year of high school, I got into a little bit of trouble." Jenny began. "Before you ask, I will not tell you what sort of trouble it was and if you value your life, I suggest you don't ask Abby to start looking into my history. Clear?"
Kate immediately answered, "Crystal."
"Good. After finding out what I had gotten myself into the Colonel flew back from overseas. He was home for all of 24 hours before he informed me that he was returning to his command position in Germany and that I would be moving in with my Aunt Rosemary. He told me that I could no longer live on my own because I was not responsible enough. He helped me back up my things and two days later he was on a plane headed for Germany and I was left in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania."
Gibbs pulled his wife closer to him and rubbed her arm gently, "The first time I meet your mother I was working at the store. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. I can still remember that day like it was yesterday."
Jenny smiled up at her husband, placing a chaste kissed on his lips, "Your father was sweet, romantic, and nothing but a gentleman. By the middle of July we were official. Aunt Rosemary was a wonderful woman, but she was very set in her ways. She was under the impression that "dating" was merely a few meetings between the couple with an approved chaperon before they got married. These supervised meetings assured that both parties had remained pure before the wedding. I swear she was raised in the 1800s. Needless to say when Jethro dropped me off at home for the first time she was not pleased. She laid down a set of rules that were almost impossible to follow. For starters I had a curfew 8:30, but I wasn't new to the rule bending game. I snuck out almost every night, at least until she caught us." Jenny shook her head and laughed.
"Dad, I think you should tell this part." Gibbs spoke up, laughing with his wife.
"Alright let's see. It was the end of August. I had turned in earlier because I had to be at the store at 6 AM for a truck. It must have been almost one in the morning when someone came pounding on the door." Jackson began, setting the scene. "When I opened the door I came face to face with Rosemary Shepard. Without so much as a greeting she demanded that my son marry her niece. It took my brain a few seconds to catch up, but my first thought was that Jethro had gotten Jenny pregnant. But one glance at them told me they were embarrassed rather than upset. I invited Rosemary in and it took nearly twenty minutes for her to explain what the hell was going on. It turns out that she had woken up in the middle of the night and happened to walk by Jenny's room and noticed her missing. I have no idea how she found your parents, but she found them by the lake in Jethro's car doing "unspeakable things" as she politely put it. I don't quite recall how exactly we talked her off of the marriage train or how your mother ever left the house again." Jackson said getting out the chair and grabbing a book off the book case, "I do however have some pictures from their senior year."
"Can we clarify something quickly? Is the lake you got caught at the same lake I was conceived at?" Kate question, flipping open the worn photo album.
Jenny unconsciously smiled to herself. The lake held a lot of memories. It was where she and Jethro had spent their first night together and where Kate had been conceived.
"It's our favorite spot in town. I proposed to your mother there before I left for the core." Gibbs answered.
"Dad I didn't know you were the quarterback for the football team and Mom I didn't know you were head cheerleader." Kate exclaimed
"That's such a cliché though Katie. You know the quarterback dating the head cheerleader, is like to number one go to plot for bad romance movies." Tony said absentmindedly.
Kate quickly elbowed her fiancé in the ribs, "I think it's sweet." Kate mentioned before flipping through a few more pages. "Aw, you guys were prom king and queen." She flipped a few more pages before she came to the last page. On the left was a picture of her mom and dad. Her dad was dressed in his Marine's dress uniform and her mom appeared to have been crying. On the right there was a picture if her parents on their wedding day almost 6 years later. "Why is there such a large time gap between these two pictures?" Kate asked handing her mom the album.
"The first picture is right before your father left for basic training. I left right after he shipped out. It was too painful to be here without him. I went to college at Villanova and didn't come back until he got home." Jenny answered staring reverently at the photos.
"Thank you for telling the story you guys." Kate said to her parents and grandfather
Tony pulled Kate off of the couch and toward the door, "Let's take a walk."
"We'll be back in a little bit." Kate called from the foyer, pulling her coat on.
"Make sure you guys wear hats and gloves, its cold out." Jenny reminded
"We know, Mom." Tony called back
Soon after, Jackson turned in leaving Jethro and Jenny curled up together in front of the glowing Christmas tree paging through the photo album. Jenny ran her fingers over the picture of their younger selves at prom. "Who knew the prom king and queen would still be together." Jenny said quietly
"We did, Jen." Gibbs assured, kissing her forehead
Jenny smiled and squeezed his hand before letting out a small yawn. At that, Gibbs gently pulled her up off the couch. "Let's hit the sack. It's been a long day and you're sleeping for two now."
Jenny was about to tell Jethro that he was being overbearing, but she was far too tired to argue.
