Chapter 5

I groaned at the sunlight hitting my shut eyelids. I blinked a couple of times until I finally woke up.

Where Was I?

I sat up in the lush bed and looked around. I recognized the room as one of the guest rooms but I didn't know how I got here.

When I heard the adjoined bathroom open I turned to see a man with Crystal blue eyes stare back at my brown ones.

"Who are you" I got up nervously scanning him. He was built but not as built as Edward. Edward. He was married. And he lied to me about it.

"I'm James" He walked up to me with is hand outstretched.

I took it cautiously; aware of his distance and the fact that he was half naked from the shower he took. "How did I get here" I looked down

"Well you were hysterical last night. You were running through the garden crying and shaking, and I kind of felt bad. As soon as you got here you passed out." He said with a hint of a smile. Glad to know my misery was funny somewhere. "I didn't exactly catch your name" He finished.

"Bella. Well I'm just going to get out of your way" I excused myself. I walked through the room passing him, giving him a timid smile.

I went back to my room hoping and praying Alice was away. But of course when I got there she was sitting on her bed deep in thought.

"Bella!" She rushed to me. I in turn ignored her, still pissed at what she did.

"I'm sorry" she said "I just really didn't think that what you were doing was a good idea and I didn't want you to get hurt. I just wanted you to stay away from him."

"Well good you got what you wanted he's out of my life. I don't want anything to do with him." I said with my back turned to her. Trying to hide my eyes filled with unshed tears.

She was quiet for a while. But she finally spoke. "Can I ask what happened?"

"He's married no explanation needed" I harshly wiped a tear away. "I have to get started on the cleaning' I'll see you." I walked past her out of the room.

After I was finished cleaning my part of the house I decided to get some fresh air before the bleach got the best of me?

In the distance I saw a little emblem fading in and out. I guess someone was smoking. I walked over to the light mechanically as if my body was forcing me to go over to the man smoking.

It was James.

I stepped on a twig signaling my presence. He smiled in the dim light. He walked over to a bench and motioned for me to sit with him. I did.

"Fancy seeing you here" He dragged on his cigarette offering me a puff when he was done.

I declined trying to make myself smaller under his gaze. "I don't smoke." I half smiled "I know who you are… but why are you here. I don't mean to be rude or anything" I asked timidly.

He chuckled at me "I'm Rosalie's brother in law. I'm here for her party"

"So why so early it's not until another two weeks"

"I'm really here for my sister. Tanya and Rosalie are best friends. You might have met Tanya she's Edwards' wife" he said nonchalantly.

I made a quick go for his cigarette, taking a drag. It's never too late to start something new. He looked at me with a glint in his eyes.

"Bella can I talk to you" said Edward's voice in the distance. I heard James suck his teeth next to me.

James stood up stepping towards Edward. "Can't you see she's talking" maybe I was hallucinating but I swore I could hear Edward growl. "I don't think I was talking to you. Bella can I please speak with you?"

He turned his attention to me and I saw a look in his eyes. I felt a hand on my arm and my feet were taking me away from Edward. James was dragging me away.

"I have to talk to him." I told James. He rolled his eyes and walked away from me.

"I don't want you near that guy." Edward told me.

I scoffed "Is this what you wanted to talk to me about? I don't need you telling me who I can and who I can't talk too."

"That's not what I have to say." He hesitated for a moment. "I'm sorry I lied but you have to believe me when I say she doesn't mean anything to me."

"Look Edward I know you mean well but I don't expect anything from you. I was just your whore. Nothing more, nothing less"

"Bella stop. Tanya and I have the typical Vegas marriage. The reason she won't divorce me is because she swears we're meant to be. You have to believe me." I contemplated believing him.

He could have any girl he wanted he was Edward Cullen. I couldn't help consider that maybe Edward was telling the truth. But it didn't feel right. Knowing firsthand what an affair could do to a marriage. I don't want to be that home wrecker.

"You have to promise me one thing." I said.

"Anything."

"You can't sleep with her." I said. Maybe I had the power in our little affair. I was beginning to see that Edward was desperate. And I thought maybe I could have a little fun with this. But I had to be careful; this could fall apart right before my eyes.

"Ok but we have to be modest around the family. One thing Tanya isn't is dumb." He said.

There was still one thing on my mind "Why don't you want me to hang out with James? He's a nice guy."

If it wasn't so dark I would have said his eyes got darker. "Ever since I've known James he's always taken what he wants. And trust me Bella He wants you."

I know the chapter was a little bit slow but all stories have them. It looks like Bella has a new found power. Will she use it for good or for evli. Review!
