"Have you ever been in love?" Robin asked her smiling softly at her.
Regina blinked and in that moment when her eyes were shut Emma's face came in front of her. The same face that has hunted her dreams ever since she undid what she did decades ago, losing the things she loves the most.
It was history repeating itself and Regina couldn't help but compare this moment to the one, years ago when Kathryn asked her the very same question.
She opened her eyes and spoke softly. "I still am."
Judging by his surprised expression it was not the answer he expected.
And she couldn't find a fuck to give.
"I am happy for you."
It was the only answer that could come close to the right one.
Regina turned away from him and saw Snow. "Have you ever looked at someone and thought of another person that you cannot reach? That is away from you?"
Robin followed her line of vision. "I have."
"Then you must know what it feels like to have a person that reminds you every single day of what you have lost?"
Robin nodded silently when Regina turned to him.
"Then you shouldn't continue courting me. If you haven't read all the signs now I'm telling you blunt. I will not develop any kind of felling for you, rather than being grateful to you and your Merry Men, for helping with the protection of this town."
"She is not coming back, you know."
"I know. I send her away." Regina hissed and if she had heart it would have break⦠again.
