(In which Skye follows a hunch)

She found him in the middle of the Captain America exhibit, staring at a picture of himself. He looked like a normal guy in normal clothes that hid his arm and hat that hid his long dark hair. She would never had noticed him if she hadn't been there specifically to find him.

"Do you remember now?"

Skye's quiet curiosity spun Bucky around, every muscle tense and one hand reaching for what was undoubtedly a well-hidden weapon. His reaction sparked her own adrenaline but she only raised her empty hands in calm surrender, glad for the pillars on either side that hid her from most of the thin, milling crowd. The last thing either of them wanted was to draw attention.

"Easy there, soldier. I'm unarmed. And unaccompanied," she added when his sharp gaze flickered past her. She kept her tone light despite the nagging worry at the back of her mind that approaching him alone was a stupid idea bound to lead to disapproving looks from just about everyone who mattered to her. "I'm just here to talk."

"How did you know I was here?" A couple steps were all it took to bring him into the shadow of the pillar next to her. Skye resisted the urge to take a step back from his challenging stare and shrugged.

"Followed a hunch."
