"- will play the princess!"
"Hey, Tetsu, you hear that? We're going to be the best couple in history, I'm going to show these people what we're made of."
Kuroko had not been paying attention for a while now – he tried to get a hold of the situation, when he had noticed that all eyes were on him, wondering why, he raised his hand.
"Please repeat that, sensei, I didn't quite hear what you were saying..."
"Eh? Well, fine, I'll say it a million times if I have to~! You – are – the – princess!"
This was not happening – first the nightmare (and maybe help from Akashi), then the letter, and now this?!
What did he do so wrong to deserve this?
The Teikou School Festival was quite an anticipated event for the students of Teikou Middle School – all were invited, and not to mention this was one of the few instances when things struck their interest – class cafes, haunted houses, bonding time, opportunities to show off their talents – the school festival had it all.
What was most anticipated though – were the school plays.
Normally, the Miracle Class is privileged to not join in such activities and are free to do what they want as a class, but now they had to participate in plays – which was done by year. Simply speaking, they had to do it with other people – and so, that was obviously going to turn out as chaos in the first place.
There were less than two weeks till the school festival and they used free period as opportunity to practice – sadly though, Kuroko wasn't up for it, not in the least.
If Kuroko had remembered right, Cinderella was in no way a princess till the end of the story – now if only some fairy godmother/godfather would save him from this curse. Now.
Not only from the role – but from all these things happening, he just wished it could all be a dream, and he would soon wake up to find nothing was wrong, and that he was still living his normal life – as a normal student.
"You living up to this day is a miracle."
If only life was that easy – if only life truly had a happy ending, then Kuroko would have willingly submitted to his prince at any time now, living unbeknownst of what truly lied beneath the world's mask which was so-called peace.
Who exactly was his prince?
"May I have this dance?"
Aomine-kun?
He saw Aomine's hand held out for him, and remembering he was supposed to touch it – he did, and all those memories came flooding back to him – not those from the forgotten past, but those of his memories together with Aomine, of the Generation of Miracles as well. How they went through all those happy times together – the time at the mall – though there were sad times too...
Those were the happiest times of Kuroko's life – and he would treasure them so, till the end.
However – when your prince came with an awful package called "clumsiness", pain couldn't be avoided, after all...
"Aomine-kun, you're stepping on my foot..."
"Wah! Oh crap, uh... sorry, woah-!"
Suddenly, Aomine lost his balance and Kuroko joined him in falling down to the floor – Aomine would have fell first if not for that strong push from Aomine's body which Kuroko didn't stand a chance against, not so surprisingly Kuroko fell first, while Aomine was on top of him – literally.
"Oh my god! That was so graceful, kyaa!"
"It's so scandalous it's divine, and do I sense some jealous ones over there?"
"Psst, some silence to savour the scene?"
Kuroko was surprised when Aomine actually looked like he wanted to stay like that – perhaps Kuroko did too, if not for the uncomfortable stares and the fact that Aomine was weighing down on him – he felt for his almost flattened body.
"Aomine-kun, how long would it take for you to get off me?"
"Uh... a lifetime?"
Kuroko just hoped this person was joking – forget those troubles in his mind, he probably wouldn't be able to survive after this, and Aomine Daiki wasn't his only problem...
"DAMN IT! Why am I the freaking shoe fitter? Why am I not the prince?!"
Chuckles and laughter followed as Kagami Taiga's statement echoed through the room, clearly heard by everyone, and sadly – no one was at his side.
"Because you're so not princely?" A girl teased, and Kagami merely said that he would fare better than Aomine – to which the Aomine fan club quickly glared at Kagami as if they were all the same person wanting to kill him and take back what he had said – Kagami had to admit defeat, girls could be really scary. On the other hand, Aomine was surprised he even had a fan club. More like a fan club for him ending up with Kuroko.
Still though, the cat was out of the bag – and since a brave wild beastly tiger had voice out his feelings – the others didn't see why not, and this was where their true emotions came in.
"Mou, why of all people – Aominecchi's the prince? Tss, I bet someone tampered with the role assignment, right girls?" He referred to his fans, which was pretty much all the girls in their batch.
"Hmm... I would prefer if Aomine-kun were the prince and Kise-kun would be the princess." The girl murmured, and realizing what she had done, she covered her mouth, zipping her lips shut out of embarrassment. She had just said one of her fantasies out loud – and such was what had proven that there was actually a fanclub where they wanted Aomine to end up with Kise in their middle school life.
"Hell no, me with that guy! No way!"
"I would rather die than end up with Aominecchi!" Kise denied as well, and the girls were occupied with their chuckling – once again embarking into their fantasies.
"The more you hate the more you love!" One of them piped up, and everyone had burst into laughter – Kise and Aomine's protests being ignored – instead made into jokes to further push the idea onward – after all, they would do anything to see their dream come true – even if it meant ruining someone's life for good.
"Then, Aomine-kun and Kise-kun, who do you want to end up with?"
"U-Uh, that is..."
"T-That's an unfair question! I'm still single and available!" Kise had managed, and some had shown their relief – the topic had quickly vanished.
If not... then Kuroko Tetsuya's life might have been ruined once more.
"The magic only lasts till midnight, so beware – for this won't last very long."
Midnight is when the dream ends – it is when Kuroko has to leave and disappear from their lives – and end his story. It was short, but fun.
Their play was to be performed two times a day in all three days of the school festival, however in the final day they were performing a midnight special – to which no one had protested against, for it was going to be a memory they would surely carry on even if their middle school life ends – Kuroko's case was no exception.
He wanted to make more memories with them while he still could. He wants to make it a blissful dream – before he wakes up to what truly awaited. While he could still grab on to that hand, he would for as long as he could.
No matter whose hand it was going to end as, after all...
"And now, the debate for the one playing as the prince for the Cinderella play of the second year middle schoolers is about to begin! all are invited to vote – but oops, the votes of those involved will not be included – namely, the Generation of Miracles plus Kagami Taiga!"
"Why am I an extra?"
"Because you're not part of the harem which Kuroko has?"
"Damn it!" Kagami cursed.
How did it end up like this again?
Oh right, it was when all the Generation of Miracles had protested on how Aomine was the prince, and they had decided that they would put it to a vote – involving the entire student body.
What was unexpected if anything – was the fact that Aomine Daichi and Akashi Seiji were here to vote as well.
"Woah! The fathers are here too! Man, this is awesome!"
It didn't surprise Kuroko that everyone - guys included, were actually betting on who would win the debate, though most sided with Akashi and Aomine.
Boy... wonder why?
"Ah, but they'll be supporting their sons so it's pretty much equal isn't it?"
Almost surprisingly, Akashi Seiji had actually looked at Kuroko with an encouraging smile – as if he were sealing Kuroko's fate along with the vote – something was telling Kuroko that something was going to go absolutely wrong. When he had saw the results – he knew he was right, spot on once again.
"It's a tie!"
"WHAT?!" Aomine exclaimed, wanting to run a rampage and just stomp away in frustration but hell no – he just had to be tied with that guy.
Akashi Seijuro.
"Impossible," Akashi commented, refusing to accept the results – and he had ordered for them to go over the votes again when his father had stopped him.
"Now now Seijuro – play fair." Akashi Seiji shot a teaseful look at his son – which had caught quite the attention – and that was when Akashi had concluded... that his father didn't vote for him – so much for being a father.
If only he had won his father's vote...
"Ah – but now that it's a tie, what should we do?" A girl sighed, worried – she was the director of their play, though she may seem like that – she was actually a strict, fearsome director – so fearsome that Aomine cowered by the sight of her acting like that – due to some repeated scenes which seemed to be there just for the sake of torturing Aomine... such as the kiss scene added in the end – Aomine so didn't want to go over that again – Kuroko agreed with him.
Aomine never got sick of them though– and did I mention this director was very picky about lip contact?
They tasted like vanilla – Holy mother of god, what am I thinking? Aomine mentally scolded himself for thinking of such thoughts – he had been feeling rather weird lately, as if a certain feeling had been blossoming inside of him – and he just had to let it out.
After some more debates between themselves – the "play committee" which consisted of some of the school's most formidable fangirls – doing anything to fulfil their madness – and nothing less than that was expected – they wanted to have it their way – perfection.
"And so the two princes of the play shall be Aomine Daiki and Akashi Seijuro – congratulations to the winners!"
This. was. not. happening.
No one ever said being a princess was easy – especially if you got stuck with some bloodthirsty "civilized" princes – whose desire for the princess was conflicting with each other – untamed and wild, not hesitating to fight for that heart.
If only his heart could still make it as a whole after this.
Don't worry, this won't be all AkaKuro and AoKuro in the play – they all have their roles, time for some chaos *evil smirk*
Till the next update~!
