Yes, I know one of my characters' names is similar to a companion's name, but I'm not referring to that companion, but to a new OC. As for now, I need to decide if I'm going to the "present time" or if I have one more chapter before then.
Thanks for reading and reviews are always welcome!
"Master Jedi, Duke Organa would like to speak with you," a servant said as he approached Sydrin, who was studying in the Organa Palace library.
"Alright, thank you. Tell him that I will be with him shortly," Sydrin responded and the servant bowed and left the room. After putting her things away, Sydrin left the library and made her way to Duke Organa.
"Thank you for meeting with me, Sydrin. We have a problem; I have just received notice from one of my spies located at House Thul that a Sith Darth has arrived at the house. I have information that this Sith is looking for some powerful artifact. It is not known exactly what this artifact can do, however we cannot risk it. I need you to stop this Sith from finding anything. We cannot have Thul having the upper hand in this war," the duke said.
"I will go investigate," Sydrin responded.
"Thank you," the duke responded gratefully and looked as if he wanted to say more, but didn't and walked away.
'He keeps doing that,' Sydrin thought as she headed out toward House Thul.
As Sydrin was walking to House Thul, she dismissed her companions, letting them know that she would contact them if she was in trouble. Qyzen particularly was concerned, but respected her wishes.
The reason Sydrin chose not to go with her companions was because there was something she sensed through the Force and she knew she would have to deal with it on her own.
Sydrin quietly snuck to the barrier of House Thul and was about to sneak into the palace when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She tensed and grabbed her hip, where her lightsaber rested.
"Well, look at what we have here," a male voice came from behind her. She was spun around and was face to face with a Thul soldier. Sydrin lept backwards, pulling her ice-blue lightsaber out, when the man crumpled to the ground, twitching as if he had been shocked.
"That could have been trouble," a voice came from several feet behind her. Sydrin whirled around and saw Rhen-Gahl dusting his hands off.
"I could have handled him myself. By the way, I thought you were working with Thul. Why did you kill one of his soldiers?"
"And have a dead Jedi on my hands? Oh wait…" Rhen-Gahl said humorously.
"What are you doing here anyway?" Sydrin asked.
"Looking for an ancient artifact…" Rhen-Gahl said nonchalantly. It was then that it dawned on Sydrin that he was the Darth.
"Darth Occulus?" She asked incredulously.
"At your service," Rhen-Gahl responded and made a mock bow to Sydrin.
"And what may I do for you, Lady Organa?" He asked, referencing Sydrin's rich, Organa noble's clothing.
"Please do not call me that!" Sydrin said, seeming extremely disturbed by his comment.
"Relax, Sydrin! It was a joke! Why are you so upset?" Rhen-Gahl asked.
"Well, seeing as I'm the daughter of a would-be dutchess, it means I'm a princess and if my cousins die, I'm next in line for the throne. Unfortunately, being both Jedi and dutchess is a conflict of interest and I will have to renounce my title as Jedi Master and give up my seat on the Jedi Council," Sydrin said.
"Wait, will you please explain this to me?" Rhen-Gahl asked.
"It was 18 years ago," Sydrin said. She was 18-years-old at this point. She was born in 3,661 BBY, 8 years before the sacking of Coruscant and 10 years before the beginning of the construction of the Jedi Temple on Tython.
"I don't know what I should do Carya," Are'ana Organa said to her servant. "I need to leave. I have no place in this war, now that I'm pregnant. It was a stupid thing to do and I'm WAY too young," the twelve-year-old girl said.
"Then you should have thought about this before having sex with him, Are'ana!" Carya responded.
"You're seriously doing this with me now? I'm leaving. I have a friend on Coruscant who owes me a favor. I'll bring my child to the Jedi Temple there and leave her with the Jedi," Are'ana said.
"Ana, you do know that your parents were married when your mother was 13, right? It's not abnormal for noble children to marry young," Carya said soothingly.
"I'm going and you're not changing my mind, Carya! Just promise me you won't tell anyone?" Are'ana said.
"I promise, as long as you take my daughter, Sil'esia, with you. Her father has recently died in the war and I don't have the heart to tell her. Plus, she's showing signs of being Force sensitive," Carya said.
"I will, Carya and I promise to keep her safe," Are'ana responded.
Are'ana boarded a shuttle headed to Coruscant with Sil'esia under a heavy, yet inconspicuous disguise. Her heart was heavy knowing she wouldn't see her family again, because she couldn't face them, but she couldn't risk any harm to her baby on the war-torn planet of Alderaan and she didn't want to face her father's wrath if he found out that she was pregnant.
Fortunately, there was no trouble on the shuttle, as more times than not, there was, whether from enemy fire or hijacking, due to the Great Galactic War. The real trouble was getting off the shuttle; Are'ana had to dodge the customs stations, because she didn't want anyone tracking her. However, she was caught by Republic security. "Well who do we have here, trying to avoid the customs stations?"
Are'ana looked up at the tall commando in front of her and burst into tears. "I'm sorry sir! I was trying to take my little sister to the Jedi Temple! We were born into slavery on Tatooine and she's Force sensitive! I was afraid the Sith would take her!"
The man knelt down next to them and looked at Sil'esia. "Are you two okay?" He asked.
"I just don't want our master to find us!" Are'ana responded.
"Go ahead," he said and let them through.
Once they were on Coruscant, Are'ana and Sil'esia took a speeder to a housing project where the refugees were staying during the war. Her friend, Lokim, had hidden on Alderaan, with her help. He owed Are'ana a favor and she hoped to get his help.
After she walked for a little bit, with Sil'esia on her back, she arrived at Lokim's apartment. She knocked on the door and it was opened by a man in his early twenties. "Are'ana?" Lokim asked once he saw her. "What are you doing here?"
"I have a problem," Are'ana responded, setting Sil'esia on the ground and with that, the young girl explained everything to Lokim.
Afterwards, he hugged her and said, "I will take Sil'esia to the Jedi Temple and tell them that I found her abandoned. They can do their Midi-chlorian counts and such." He then directed his speech to Sil'esia, "Do you know your name, sweetheart?"
"Um…Sil'esia Jur'dain…" the girl said timidly.
"Okay," Lokim said. "Can you tell people that you are from Tatooine? That you were a slave? And that your mommy died?"
Sil'esia nodded and Lokim put his hands on both sides of her head. Sil'esia closed her eyes and Are'ana caught her before she hit the floor. "What the hell did you do?" she screamed.
"Are'ana, I'm Force-sensitive too…I gave her the memories of you taking her from Tatooine," Lokim said.
"I better not regret this, Lokim," she said.
"You need to rest, Are'ana. I can tell you now, birthing twins is not going to be easy on your body," Lokim said to her.
"Twins?" Are'ana asked and sank down on a couch.
"I'm going to take Sil'esia to the Jedi Temple. You stay here," Lokim said as he picked Sil'esia up.
In the time that Lokim was gone, someone came to the house. "Are'ana?" a whisper came through the door.
"Who's there?" Are'ana whispered back.
"It's Ar'tex," the voice said. Are'ana was surprised, but she still didn't want to see the boy who got her pregnant.
"Go away!" she said. "I don't want to see you!"
"Why not?" he asked, sounding extremely hurt. "I thought you loved me."
"Because of you, I had to leave my family! Because of you, I have to hide! Because of you, I'm pregnant!" she screamed, tears streaming down her face. "Go away! I don't want to see your face again."
After six months of hiding with Lokim, Are'ana gave birth to twin girls. By this time, she was going by the name Ana Lorien, taking Ar'tex's last name. She named her daughters Sydrin and Satene Lorien.
When Lokim looked the children over, to make sure they were healthy (because he was a doctor), he found something on their backs. "Are'ana?" Lokim asked. "Do you know if the boy who got you pregnant had any Sith blood in him?"
"I have no idea," she responded. "Why?"
"Your daughters have Sith markings on their backs," he responded. "At least we know that there's a 99% chance that they will be Force-sensitive."
Lokim took the babies to the Jedi Temple and ensured they would raise them there. He then left and Are'ana escaped to another friend Corellia until she was 16-years-old and started smuggling for a living.
"Wait," Rhen-Gahl said after Sydrin was finished. "You have Sith blood?"
"I still have a Sith marking on my back if that's what you're asking…" Sydrin said.
"Wow, I think I've gathered more knowledge from Alderaan than I expected," he said. "I know Duke Organa is worried about me unearthing this artifact, so I'll hold off on it for now. As for you, what are you going to do?"
"What do you mean?" Sydrin asked.
"Where are you going after Alderaan?" Rhen-Gahl asked.
"I'm not sure," Sydrin responded. "I guess I'll have to find out from the Jedi Council."
"Okay, well until then," Rhen-Gahl said.
