Chapter 1
Dark Magician: good game, you're improving.
Mystical Elf: Not good enough I still lose.
Dark Magician: ^0^ well losing is part of becoming good
Mystical Elf: lol ^-^
Dark Magician: I think we should call it a night, we do have school tommorrow
The girl in front of the computer screen paused for a moment her fingers hovering over her keyboard. Golden color bangs hiding worry in the amethyst eyes of the girl looked at the screen. She took a deep breath before once again letting her fingers glide across the keyboard.
Mystical Elf: hey can we meet in person?
Dark Magician: sure but the only free time I'll have is during lunch period, I have to help my grandfather and a new co-worker at his game shop tommorow.
This put a smile on the girls face before she continue to type.
Mystical Elf: great, you still have my phone number so I can text you right.
DarkMagician: of course
Mystical Elf: ok see you tommorow
Dark Magician: good night
Mystical Elf: good night
The teenage girl pushed herself back from her computer before moving to her mirror. She pulled her long raven hair into a ponytail as she glance at the chibi dark magician plush on her vanity. *I'm finally going to meet Dark Magician* With that though in mind and a smile on her face, the young girl turn off the light to her room before going to bed.
"Yugi? Yugi? Wake up hon, its time to get up for school!" Yugi could hear being yelled from downstairs. Slowly reaching her hand out from underneathe the comforter, Yugi begin to scan the contants of her night stand before her hand landed on something small, soft and furry. Quickly reconizing the small object to be her kuribo phone charm, Yugi pulled her phone towards her looking at the screen. Once she saw the digital screen display 6:00, Yugi flip the comforter from over her head revealing different strings of raven and golden hair sticking out from the ponytail she made the night before.
"Yugi! Get up now!" this time instead of just hearing the voice of her mother, a knocking join in at Yugi's door. The door open to reveal a woman who look to be in her 30s with long dark purple hair and violet color eyes standing with her hands on her hip. "Honestly if you can stay up almost all night on your computer, you can atleast clean your room with all that time on your hands." Her mother said as she grab random articles of clothing and toss them in the hamper near the door. Yugi let out a long yawn as she slowly made her way to her bathroom. While in the bathroom, Yugi's mom went to her closet grabbing the white button up blouse and long black skirt the teen was ment to wear for the day. "Good morning you to" her mother said with sarcastic air to her voice "Good morning mom..." came a muffled greeting through the bathroom door as Yugi's mom continue to get her uniform out and make up the teen's bad. "You're father and I are going to be busy tonight with work so I made dinner, its wrapped up in the fridge." "ok..." "Breakfast is ready so you should hurry so you won't be late for school." "ok..." came the same emotionless response as a vein begin to show on the top of the mom's forehead. "You know what scratch that, your father and I are going on a journey, don't expect us back until spring." "ok..." Yugi's mom quickly open the door to the bathroom sticking her head inside "What are you doing in there, hurry up and pay attention when someone's talking to you." "Mom! Close the door I don't have anything on yet!"
Walking up the hill leading to the gate of her school, Yugi stopped as other students in the same uniform passed her by. Worry filled her eyes as she held her head down and felt her heartbeat begin to race. *Ok yugi, be strong; afterall you earn you're right to be here just like anyone else...* Although the logic made sense in the teenage's head, her feet refused to move as her heart seem to beat faster and she clutch tightly onto her school bag. *I-I...* just then a beep could be heard from her bag breaking the girl out of her train of though as she reach inside and grab her phone. Unlocking it she saw that it was a text message.
Dark Magician: good morning ^-^
This turn the once nervous expression into a smile as she begin to text back while walking forward.
Mystical Elf: good morning
Once inside the school, Yugi walked up to her locker and looked from side to side. Most students were busy talking or getting to their class. She slowly crack the door to her locker open and peeked inside to be welcome with a fowl odor. Through the crack, Yugi could see her locker packed with trash inside. Letting out a sigh, she closed her door. Soon the bell rang signaling for everyone to hurry to their homerooms. Once inside the classroom, all the talking ceased and whispering could be heard but she couldn't hear what they were saying. Some students were even laughing as Yugi move closer to her desk. She began to examine her desk, touching the seat to make sure nothing was on it. She also did the same for the desk top along with checking the legs of her desk to make sure nothing was wrong with the legs. Finally seeing nothing wrong with the desk, Yugi sat down. She begain to reach into her bag to get her books and place it in the compartment underneathe the desktop's surface, until she noticed that it to was stuffed with trash. Then the classroom erupted with laughter. "Hey scholarship student, I heard we got a new trashcan; hope you don't mind." she heard one of the students say as she kept her head down to avoid eye contact. She then got up and walked over to the small waste basket that sat near the door and place it near her desk as she began to empty the contents out of her desk. Just when she was grabbing the last piece of trash the classroom door open. A woman with long blonde hair and green eyes stepped in with her bag in hand. Since the door to the classroom was parallel to Yugi's desk, the teacher's eyes insteadly landed on the teenager. "Yugi what are you doing?" Many scenarios played in the teen's head in that short minute. She could tell the teacher what's going on in front of everyone, but the cons far outweighted the pros in that situation. She could just hint to it when their alone, but they would know it was her. Afterall no one else would care enough to help her. So the teen chose the safest of all the options. She turn to the teacher with the best smile she could muster at the moment "Noting Ms. Grey, just though I would clean out my desk that's all." The teacher looked at her student for a while, as if considering wheather or not the statement Yugi made was true before continuing into the classroom. "Ok just make sure to put the trashcan back, we're about to start class." "Yes ma'am"
Dark Magician: let's meet at Amber Park next to the fountain.
Mystical Elf: ok
Yugi texted back as she quickly gathered her things and put her bag on her back heading out the door. Thankfully for her, no one was in the hallway as she hurried towards the exit. As she pass by the girl's bathroom she was taken back (literally), as a hand grabbed her by the back of her bag pulling her into the restroom. The force send her into the wall on the otherside of the bathroom with her bag off her shoulder's on the floor. She slowly looked up to see two girls standing at the door. One with short dark blue hair and brown eyes and another with long black hair tied into a braid and brown eyes. They both had a smirk on their face as they both lean against the door blocking her only exit. As Yugi finally stood up, a hand slammed the wall next to her face making her flinch. She looked up at the source of the hand to be meet with a pair of blue eyes. "My My princess, you sure do have a talent in acting." the blue eyed girl said as she flipped her long dark brown hair with her left hand. Yugi quickly pointed her eyes to the floor refusing to look the girl in the eyes. "Wonder are those the talents you used to really get into this school." The girl said with a smirk as Yugi continued to not look at the girl with a neutral expression on her face. This made the girl frown as she grab a handful of Yugi's hair pulling her head up. "Hey peasant! Look at your superiors when they're talking to you!" The girl yelled as Yugi closed her eyes shivering in fear. "You better not think you're hotstuff just because you got in here on a scholarship. You're just a charity case! And you better continue to keep your mouth shut or I won't continue to be as charitable as this school." The girl yelled as she slammed Yugi's head back against the bathroom wall. The three girls then made their exit as Yugi still trembling in fear, begin to slowly slide down the wall into a sitting postions as she cross her arms over head knees and put her head down.
Yugi check the mirror one more time as she sat on the fountain in Amber park. She noticed that her eyes were still red, so she reached into her bag for eyedrops *Don't let this get you down Yugi, I mean you're going to meet Dark Magician. You wanted to meet him for a year now and now's the chance to finally meet him.* Yugi peptalked herself as she continue to search for the eyedrops. Just then the bag fell out of her lap as the books scatter out on the ground. *But what if he doesn't want to be my friend? I mean who would want to be friends with a coward like me?* She felt a drop fall on the hand that she was using to reach for her books before she realize she was crying again. *No I can't be crying now, I can't look like anythings' wrong.* she scorned herself as she quickly wiped her face. As she reach again for the books a larger hand appeared picking it up.
"Here..."
Yugi slowly looked up...
