In response to a lot of comments (every review for chapter 5 actually...) keep calm I don't plan on having Tooth and Jack together so dont worry, though like ive said before its not going to be plain sailing for Jack and Elsa (as you'll start to see this chapter).
Thank you to each an everyone of you wonderful people reading this, if it wasn't for your lovely comments I wouldn't still be writing. Id like to apologise in advance for how badly this chapter is written, I know its a little bitty but I had to post something.

Chapter 6
The next year as the first snow began to fall, Jack returned to Arendelle. He'd found himself often thinking about the little ice princess, wondering what she was doing.
He flew to the bedroom window, it was left ajar, he tapped on the glass. Elsa was sitting on the bed her hands slowly turning the pages of a book, she spun around at the sound.
"Who's there?' she asked.
"Nice to see you remembered me."
"Jack?"
"Do you know any other frost spirits? Should I be jealous?" he teased.
Elsa's lips twitched, but the small smile seemed forced, Jack studied her expression.
"What's the matter.' He asked. He glanced around, only just noting the state of the room. It had turned into an tundra; the furniture was all coated in a thick casing of ice, the walls too and the ground crunched softly beneath his feet, carpeted in frost.
Jacks gaze flickered back to the little girl.
'Elsa, what happened?' He asked concerned.
Elsa shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. Jack started towards her, but she shouted at him to stop,
'No! Don't come any closer.' She yelled holding her hands out in front of her, then she quickly tucked them in the her chest, with terrified expression.
'Why not?'
'I don't want to hurt you.' She said.
Jack frowned. 'Hurt me? You can't hurt me Elsa. What's this all about?'
'I..I hurt Anna.' She whispered, tears glistening in her eyes.
Jack froze in shock. 'What happened?' He asked softly. She told him; how they'd been playing, how she's slipped and struck Anna with her powers, how she'd almost killed her sister.
'It was an accident.' He told her. 'You didn't mean to.'
'Exactly, and that's why I can't play with her anymore, because I can't stop it... And now, she doesn't know about my powers."
'Listen," he said trying to distract her, "Why don't we go out and play for a while?"
Elsa shook her head adamantly 'I can't' Jack looked at her puzzled.
'I have to stay here. That way I can't hurt anybody.'
A feeling of sadness filled Jack as he watched the little girl. Eight years old, but the expression was far too serious. Mature beyond her years.
'You're not a bad person Elsa.' He told her, moving towards her despite her protests and wrapped his arms around her. She tensed, worried that she'd hurt him, but then she relented and leaned her head against him.
'I wish I was normal.' She whispered.
'No.' Jack said 'never wish yourself any powers, they're part of you. They're part of what makes you special, promise you won't wish yourself any different?"
Elsa looked up at him, a single tear running down her cheek.
'Whats the point in being special if I can't have any friends. I don't want to be alone.' she said, her eyes tearing up again. Jack wiped away her tear and drew her in closer.
"You've got me." He said and kissed the top of her head. "You're not alone. I promised I would come back'. I'll help you control your powers."
He held out her hand and placed a snowflake on her palm. 'I keep my promises."
. . . . . . .
And so it was, that from the first snowflake, Elsa would wait at the window for Jack and he would visit every day until the last ice melted.
As the years passed, the city of Arendelle experienced ever longer winters and an increasing number of freak cold snaps during the warmer seasons as Jack made surprise visits, finding it more and more difficult to keep his distance for too long. Being together was a relief for both of them, Elsa could be herself, it was the only time that she ever dared to remove the gloves her father had given her. As for Jack, it was the only time he felt truly alive, he felt almost normal.
They never went outside, but they spent hours talking, and challenging the other to make ice sculptures and in those moments together they forgot about the rest of the world. They could forget how different they were. Those precious moments were the only time they felt whole.
Jack watched as year by year Elsa grew older and more beautiful each time he saw her. As the years passed they grew closer in age, Jack forever frozen at 17 and Elsa rapidly catching up. As the age gap closed, Jack went from 'older brother' to beloved friend and eventually as their timelines coincided, the pair grew even closer, and it become more and more difficult to say goodbye at the thaw of each winter.
But at the end of each visit Jack would leave her a snowflake a reminder of his promise.
For ten years, the routine remained the same. Ten years of contentment.
But when Jack arrived at the palace this time, he knew something was different, everything seemed darker and it had nothing to do with the twilight.
"Hey snowflake" Jack grinned, landing inside the window, but there was no witty retort this time, no smile to greet him, she didn't even turn to face him.
'Go away, Jack.'
"Elsa?..." Jack asked confused, "what's the matter?..."
Now she turned to face him and her expression was hard, determined.
'You're not real.' Elsa said bluntly, the words struck Jack like an avalanche.
"What?" He stared, aghast.
'It's time I grew up and stopped playing make believe.'
'But Elsa...'
"Don't you get it?!" She yelled, her eyes flashing with...no, not anger, pain. "I can't do this anymore..."
"Do what Elsa? What did I do?" Jack pleaded.
"I can't keep pretending. I can't be this person...this freak. I have to stop. I have to grow up and face the fact that I'm always going to be alone."
She paused deliberating her words.
"Jack Frost is a story for children and I cannot afford the liberty of being child any longer."
"Elsa, please don't..." Jack pleaded
"You're not real...I...I don't believe in you" Jack took a step towards her but she stopped him.
'I said go, and don't come back!' She squeezed her eyes tight shut. Holding her hands out and a wall of ice rose between her and him.
Jack stared through the ice at her, and their eyes met for a final moment, Elsa froze and Jack thought she might change her mind, but suddenly she straightened her shoulders, her face washed clear of emotion and she turned away sharply, leaving Jack standing there hopelessly.
As Jack flew away, he felt his heart breaking. "You're not real." The words echoed in his mind, "you're not real..."
He was so used to having someone to talk to, he had almost reached the point where he could bear the dull stares as the rest of the world looked right through him, it didn't matter that no one else could see him, because she did. Elsa had believed in him, he'd always assumed shed always be there. She'd become a permanent fixture in his life, the one good constant thing. It was only now he was realising how much he'd taken that for granted. Somewhere along the line she had become his world and now that was gone. He was stranded, a traveller shipwrecked on his journey with no means of rescue nor any home to return to.
He was alone.
I know, I'm sorry for the sad ending but it had to happen. Please let me know what you thought and as always, any requests, suggestions or constructive criticism is always appreciated.
I'll update as soon as I can, thank you all again for bearing with me. All the best for the new year! xx
