A/N- so here it is! The latest chapter of the series, I am glad there are people enjoying this! Sadly this chapter isn't as funny as the other ones as it is quite serious. But hey! There shall be more fun in the chapter.

As always I do not own any of the characters in the DGM series, I wish I did. But I don't. What I do own is the plot of this story and the many many typos that appear in here…which I do try to spot before posting this. Looks like the tricky buggers manage to stay in place. Bad typos Bad! Anyway enjoy~

Office Affair

Love

The soft breath of the wind toyed within red locks, causing them to dance gracefully. The night had gone surprisingly well; they had gone to the cinema to watch the latest movie though the two had a minor disagreement as Lavi wanted to watch a thriller and Tyki wanting to watch the horror so he could cuddle his dear Coelho. In the end Tyki had won by seducing Lavi with the promise of a sweet mix tub where the redhead could pick any sweets he wanted. During the movie Lavi found it amusing as people around them jumped and occasionally squealed, where he sat hand in hand with his date. As they watched half the movie Tyki thought it was wise to wrap his arm around Lavi's waist but it was awkward having the arm rest between them so opted to remain hand in hand with his lover.

Now they were walking through the local park, the evening was pleasant and warm with the cooling breeze embracing them. Lavi had hooked his arm with his lover's and rested his head against his shoulder. Yes, he would have regretted saying no when Tyki had asked him on this little date of theirs. It wasn't romantic, it was lovely. Walking through the lit park Tyki had noticed a few people was out and about, some with their children, some with their loved ones and other's alone walking in loneliness after a hard day at work. Tyki sighed contently; it was this that he had been wanting for a few years now. To find someone he could trust, love and adore. They paused at the small fountain that had a statue of three lions surrounding it, all painted gold, looking proud and standing tall. Lavi leaned against the safety railings that protected small children from running into the murky water beneath them. He could see small shimmers of pennies glistening like small gems in the water. One penny represented one wish, one dream of person who was here before them. Tyki withdrew a penny from his pocket and held it out to Lavi.

"What's this?" The redhead asked as he stood in front of the older male. His emerald eye so full of wonder and happiness it brought warmth to Tyki's heart.

"A wish. You cannot visit the fountain without making a wish" Tyki gave Lavi a charming smile that was relaxed.

"I don't believe in magic"

"You do not have to believe to make a wish."

". . . still. . ."

"Lavi take the penny please" Tyki wanted to open Lavi's eye to the wonder and fantasy within the world around them.

Sighing Lavi gave up and took the small metallic round coin from the other and held it in his hand.

"Close your eye" Tyki had often said eyes in the past which often resulted with Lavi throwing whatever he could find on his desk at him. After a few slip ups Tyki soon learnt from his mistake and corrected himself. Watching as Lavi closed his wonderful eye Tyki leant forward. "Now make a wish. Do not tell anyone what it is" he whispered softly within the redhead's ear.

Lavi was curious, he had always been curious but he didn't believe in things he hadn't seen or was apart from. Sure he saw the countless magic tricks that magicians did, but it was all an illusion, the slight slip of hand, the secret doors within the trick itself. So he didn't believe in magic, but Tyki seemed too so the redhead thought it was lovely to play along. He made his wish thinking it over in his mind; he kept his eye closed and threw the penny into the water listening for the small splash sound.

Tyki leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss against the male's soft pale lips enjoying the taste of sweets. The kiss was gentle, lovingly. It was nothing too passionate. It was as if Tyki didn't want to have this date lead to something sexual. It was something Lavi liked about Tyki.

"There I made my wish~" Lavi smiled as he opened his eye to see the other male pulling away from the kiss.

"That you did my dear" Tyki chuckled and took Lavi's hand within his own, lacing their fingers together as he pulled Lavi to his side and continued to walk along.

"Tyki why didn't you make a wish?" Lavi asked with a frown tugging his lips.

"I made my wish a few weeks ago, it has come true. I only wanted one thing and no I have it I intend to not let this leave" The man smiled at the youth, his golden eyes held small tints of love within them whenever he looked at Lavi.

"What did you wish for?"

"Ah, I do not think telling you my wish is a good idea. I don't want to fuck it all up" Tyki was honest, his wish was personal. He had wished for Lavi, to have him within his arms and Tyki Mikk did not want to screw up what he and Lavi had between them.

Lavi hummed in acknowledgement looking around the scenery he saw small flowers beginning to bloom. The familiar yellow colouring of the daffodils, the pleasant scent of the rose bushes, the lavender that had been placed in small flowerbeds and the odd glistening white lilies that was scattered around the borders of the fields. The sky was full of bright colours, red mixed in with navy, pink embracing the purple and a few stars where visible here and there as if they were finishing the image off. Lavi glanced up at the stars and smiled seeing them. He was always fascinated with them, having taken a course in astronomy in college.

"Did you know that in the olden times people believed that if someone had found true love that, when the planets line up, they would hear the heavenly song?" Tyki cleared his throat causing Lavi to shake his head at the question.

"Is it true?" Lavi asked, tilting his head to the side to look at the older man.

"I have never found true love, I cannot possibly say. It is also said that the stars are made whenever someone falls in love."

"Hn, and when that love is broke do they fall to Earth Tyki? When we see the stars now, they are already dead. They are showing us their finale glow before their delicate light fades way into nothing. Just like love…"

"Do you think that people are capable of finding their soul mates?" Tyki sat down on a bench and tapped the wooden seat besides him and watched as the redhead sat down too.

"If they are lucky enough to find them, yes. The world is a big place, they always say there is someone out there for everyone" Lavi wasn't really the romantic type though he did enjoy reading platonic poetry occasionally.

"Love is not love which alters it when alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove" Tyki purred softly, he was the type of male that sat at home reading the literature that was made in the Victorian ages. Shakespeare was his favorite.

Lavi smiled at what he had heard, Shakespeare was one of his favorite writers. He did enjoy the sonnets he had made. "It is an ever fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken; it is the star to every wandering bark whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out, even to the edge of doom" Lavi finished off what Tyki had started.

"Sonnet 116" Tyki raised a brow; he had never expected Lavi to have known that one. He always knew the redhead was full of surprises that made him wonder what exactly had read in his years.

"Hmm. I like that one" Lavi placed his head against Tyki's shoulder and sighed when the wind blew against his cheeks. He placed their joint hands within his lap and left them there, the time spent with Tyki was nice.

"Lavi. . . Can I tell you something?"

"Hmmhmm" Was Lavi's reply, the redhead felt calm and relaxed. Nothing could go wrong.

"I lo—" Just as Tyki was about to tell the redhead exactly how he felt about him he heard the familiar voice call his name out.

"Lenalee?" Tyki asked puzzled, she was the last person he wanted to see at the moment.

The young girl walked over, a smile upon her face. Instead of sitting down against the bench she placed herself within Tyki's lap and smiled at him.

"I never thought I would see you here!" She beamed and glanced at Lavi who had by this time let go of Tyki's hand and sat up straight.

"Do remember this place~? You took me here on our first date" She purred and laid her head against his shoulder. Tyki wanted to push her off but he didn't want to harm the unborn child that was developing within her. Lavi glared at her, he didn't like the look she was giving to Tyki, nor did he like her general. He wanted to drag her off and tell her to back off from Tyki as it was clear in his expression that he had no feelings for her. Does he still have feelings for her? He hadn't pushed her off or told her to sit somewhere else. So it made Lavi doubts a few things.

"Do not remind me" Tyki said as he took a cigarette from his pocket and placed it between his lips. He knew his dear Lavi disliked him smoking and he did promise not to smoke around him, but right now the stress of the day was weighing him down and he needed to smoke.

"Oh Tyki we had so much fun! We made out over there, and you took me over there for some—"

"I think I should go" Lavi spoke cutting her off from speaking. He didn't want to hear what the two of them had done. The night was ruined. It was over. No he didn't regret going out with Tyki, what he did regret was allowing himself to be fooled by the hope of actually gaining Tyki as a lover.

"No Lavi don't go" Tyki reached out to take his hand but Lavi gently pulled his hand away. Sighing Tyki finally placed the woman onto the bench and wrapped an arm around his redhead's waist. Preventing him from moving anywhere. "Lavi please stay. I want to spend more time with you"

Lavi glanced behind his shoulder, he was in two minds. Does he stay and deal with the fact that Tyki's old affair was there or to go home and spend the rest of the evening eating ice cream and cuddling his new kitten? "Tyki I don't want to spend time here with her. This is suppose to be our date"

"Of course Lavi, I was thinking of getting some ice cream and sitting far away" Tyki whispered and placed a gentle kiss against his cheek.

"Aw, are you two leaving already?" Lenalee asked as she saw the way Tyki looked at the redhead. She didn't like the loving glances.

"Yes Lenalee. I am here to spend time with Lavi not dwell in the past with you" Tyki glanced back at her and caught her staring at them.

"The past…? You make it sound as if we haven't had any good memories"

"With the shit that you have put me through over the years, no I cannot remember the good memories."

"Tyki…go order the ice cream." Lavi said softly, he wanted to move on and leave them to it but he also wanted to drag Tyki away from her.

"Alright" Tyki removed his arm from around his waist and walked off to the ice cream stand.

"I know what you are trying to do" Lavi said as he finally turned around to face her. "I know you want Tyki back because you suddenly realized how great life was with him as your personal money bank."

"Hey—"

Lavi raised a hand to stop her from interrupting him. Damnit he was going to have his say. "I also know that your affair went sour and he moved on with someone else. I know that you don't have enough money and I also know that this baby is less likely to be Tyki's child. So what I am trying to say here is, back off. He doesn't want you; he is only speaking to you because the idiot thinks that you are carrying his child. Hell you might be but I doubt it and if I am wrong I will apologies to you. To I am so rarely wrong." Lavi finally finished what he had to say and turned around to walk away when her voice purred into his ear like poison.

"Do you think your little relationship with Tyki will last? He has had many personal assistants before you, all of which resulted into some sort of affair. He is a known player and sure I was with him because of the money I know exactly what Tyki Mikk is like. You are just another face in a long line. Soon he will find someone better and before you know it he'll fire you and throw you out." She laughed softly and watched as the poor redhead walked off with the seeds of doubt now planted within his mind. She wanted Tyki Mikk back and she would do anything to have him.

Lavi sighed heavily, he was starting to think that Tyki was more trouble then he was worth. Sitting down on the opposite side of the bench table, he stabbed at his melting mint flavored ice cream with a depressed look upon his face.

"Is something wrong?" Tyki asked softly, placing his hand above the redhead's. He regretted leaving him behind, he should have dragged Lavi away with him.

"No" was the simple reply Lavi had said. "Can we go home…?" He didn't want to stop the date so early, but after hearing the stupid woman and her words, he began to think it over which resulted into having a headache.

"Of course" Tyki finished off his coffee and stood up, he offered his hands to the redhead but Lavi didn't want to hold the hand. They both walked silently alongside one another.

Finally they had arrived at Lavi's apartment which was in a rather large mansion but it was renovated in the early 1900's into the apartment building. It was rather nice, there were paintings along the walls, a chandelier in the main hall where the front doors were, and each apartment had its own little light near the desk, which lit up whenever someone was in there. Yes it was for security reasons as the owner knew each person that lived here and knew of their daily routines. The people also told the man when they were going away for holiday so if the light was on it was due to intruders and nothing more.

Lavi's apartment was on the fourth floor, of course he had forced Tyki to take the stairs saying this was proper exercise and what he was doing in his office was nothing more then fun and typically Tyki denied it.

As they reached the door of Lavi's place Tyki noted the golden letter which read D on it, he was confused as to why D was all the way up here but he guessed it was an error on the owner's part. The sound of a key entering the keyhole captured Tyki's attention. Was this really how their evening was going to end? With Lavi so silent and Tyki annoyed?

"Wait Lavi" Tyki pushed Lavi against the door, forcing the redhead to glance at him. He could see the doubt clouding the boy's eye and the frown upon his lips. He placed a hand into Lavi's and the other hand as rested against the door. "Lavi…whatever she has told you was her trying to worm her disgusting way into your mind"

"But she is right though…isn't she? You've had so many relationships…"

"Yes but all that changed when I met you"

"How…Tyki how?"

"Because…" Tyki was trying to form words in his mind, he couldn't loose Lavi. Not like this, not when he was so close to happiness.

"…." Lavi sighed softly as he rested his head against Tyki's, the older man was slightly taller then he was.

"I love you Lavi…"
