No one has killed me yet. They must be very confused and possibly scared about my actions. I am sitting on my pedestal, not moving a muscle. I will be a human sacrifice. I am pretty much protesting the games in a unique way.

I watch the careers put more layers because of the sudden change in the arena. They eat and exchange weapons. My vision is a bit blurred by the snow, but I can still see Gentry take a few steps my way. "Hey, what are you doing?" Then Ashlar says, "Are you an idiot, why are you sitting there?" I take a deep breath and ignore them. Gentry has a bow and arrows. He looks at his weapon and then raises it. "It's your time to go. We are giving you the rare chance to run. So go!" I get a gut feeling that he is not going to kill me. Neal walks toward me, blocking the snow with his hand. "Hey man. You better run now or they are going to kill you. I suggest you get out of here." I finally reply, "No. I will not run. Tell your friends to kill me. That's what I want."

I bet the Capital has all cameras on me and I hope they watch my sacrifice. I hope all of 5 sees what I'm doing. Neal relies, "Suit yourself." I now stand on my pedestal and open my arms out. "Kill me!" I yell. Gentry puts his bow back up and Neal gets out of the way. I see his hand let the arrow fly. You get remembered for winning these games, but actions like these are the ones people will talk about. I drop off my pedestal and can barely make out the sound of my cannon.

I saw what just happened at the cornucopia. I'm hiding out at the edge of the now snow-covered forest. Was that guy protesting or was he just crazy? Oh well. That's one less tribute. I turn and start walking toward the icy water.

Suddenly, my foot drops into a hollow part of the snow. I can't get it out so I stop trying. I'm not sinking and nothing is happening. At least five minutes go by when I hear rustling and then rumbling from above. I look up and a mound of snow from a nearby tree is plummeting towards me. I cover my head and the impact of the snow make me fall. I hollow out a little space in the snow to breath. I'm alive. Thank God I'm alive. Well now I know one of the Game Maker tricks. As I just start becoming relieved, some of the snow around my arm becomes red.

I frantically examine my arm and spot a deep cut. My axe which is on my belt cut my arm when the snow came down. I start digging above me until I see a hint of sunlight. I keep digging and then pull myself out of the snow. The pile which I was under must have been 4 feet tall. I take off my sweatshirt and cut off one sleeve. I wrap it around the cut and then ren starts making the sleeve damp. I need a bandage. I need to go to the cornucopia.

Tristan and I haven't left the cave we found on one of the nearest islands. Yesterday, we swam out, barely avoiding a deadly shark. We are now reluctant to leave and we just snuggle with each other to keep warm. We haven't said anything to each other since we got here.

"Hey Tristan. Only one of us can go home."

"I know. I just don't want this relationship to end. You were the first person I ever loved."

"Same. I love you so much."

I kiss her on the forehead.

"Do you want to leave now while the water is frozen. We can walk right over."

"Sure, I don't want to get stuck with that shark again. If I die, I don't want it to be from one of the arena tricks."

She laughs and we get up. She takes the bag of apples we got and I pick up my spear. She smiles and I smile back. She takes her hand and ruffles up my diry blond hair. We both laugh and I rub my hand on her brown hair which is in a pony tail. She playfully slaps me and we walk out of the cave. I am terrified as I look out. We are a target because nothing is around us. She looks at me as to say, "Are you sure we should go?" I nod at her and she walks forward. Tristan slips on the ice and falls into me and I fall. I say, "This is going to be harder then I thought." We now slide along the ice and I stop when Tristan stops. We are right near the shore when she looks down. Frozen into the ice is the shark.

I'm alone, cold, and scared. I haven't been scared in a long time, but I now have that feeling. I have a sword which is bloodstained because I stabbed Ashlar from two with it. I see my reflection in the metal. I see a muscular man with black hair in a buzz cut. I sit against a rock near the shore of the arena. The water is ice and is impossible to break.

I need food. My stomach rumbles, which reminds me of my endless hunger. I look around for any animals. I see a deer in the corner of my eye. I hunt it down and kill it. Then I skin it and collect the meat. When it is dry again, I will create a fire and cook some food.

I wonder where Lauren is. She doesn't know it but I do care about here. She is only thirteen. I have a thirteen year old cousin that I protected with my life. She died of an illness. I can see my cousin in Lauren and want to protect her, just like my cousin. I need to find her. I get up and look around. The sky becomes darker and I decide to look for Lauren tomorrow.

I sit right back down on the same rock. I cover myself with deerskin which makes me somewhat warmer. I'm just about to fall asleep when the Capitol anthem starts playing. Damon from five pops up with the number 5 above his picture. Huh, I wonder how he died. 7 dead in two days. 17 more tributes in this arena including me.

Karson, Alexa, and I lay on three different branches on one big tree. The Capital anthem ends and the sky is dead black. No stars, no moon. I can't see a thing. I slowly fall asleep. I have a dream of the Careers chasing me and laughing as they kill my friends. Finally they get to me and I trip. They loom over me. I suddenly wake up. I am sweating and not just because of my dream.

The arena has changed again. It is a total desert. The tree I'm in has no leaves on it. Under me is sand. The abnormally big sun glares and I have to squint to see. The ice water is just more sand. The islands look like little pyramids. I see above all the now scorched trees and look at the cornucopia. It is sand covered and sand dust flies off of it. Let's see what the desert has in store for us today.
