Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait. Here's the next chapter. I might have changed some things in the Karakura Invasion Arc just so I could include Naruto and Sasuke in the battle, but everything else will be the same, so no worries there.

Also, sorry for the very rusty and maybe not-that-well-written chapter, but here you go.

Chapter 13: Naruto and Sasuke's Return – Bankai!

The Hōgyoku is able to manifest the desires of those around it. However, this manifestation will not be successful unless the possessors of those desires have the strength to carry it out. In a way, its ability might be better termed a 'guiding force'. However, it is a peculiar quality of living beings that when it comes to achieving those petty desires that their crude hearts enshrine, they tend to have remarkable levels of success.

…It had been a few months since the Arrancar's first attack on Karakura Town. In the final battle between the Gotei 13 and Arrancar, it seemed like the Arrancar were getting the upper-hand in the fight until the Vizard came to their rescue. With their help, the Gotei 13 captains managed to defeat the top Espada and wipe out the rest of Aizen's army. However, Aizen managed to defeat the rest of the Gotei 13 captains with ease. As the captains and Vizards lay on the ground, defeated, all seemed hopeless for Ichigo, Urahara, Yoruichi, and Isshin; that is, until…

Ichigo breathed heavily as he held his Zanpakuto limply by his side. Th-This is… This is hopeless… I can't defeat this guy…! H-He's… He's too strong…! He managed to take our Urahara-san, Yoruichi-san, and tōsan with almost no effort! I-!

THUD!

Ichigo, as well as the three backups and the conscious defeated captains and Vizards, looked up in shock as the very ground trembled from the power of the new arrivals. Shinji winced as he used the last of his strength to raise himself up into a sitting position. Wh-Who the hell…? His eyes widened in surprise as he saw two figures standing in front of Aizen. Who could those two guys be…?

…

Ichigo stared at the two figures in front of him, unable to comprehend what had just happened. "Wh-Who… Who are you guys?"

The two figures, who were in fact Sasuke and Naruto, respectively, looked much more grown-up and stronger than before during the gladiator revolt. Sasuke, who was dressed in his usual clothes, was surrounded by a skeletal structure which was in turn enveloped in a strange violet flame-like aura. The skeletal structure had three limbs, and in the three clenched fists were three limp Arrancar figures drenched in blood. Sasuke's Sharingan themselves had a very different appearance. They were now a glowing pair of red eyes with a design of overlapping oval eclipses with a three-bladed curved shuriken in the middle.

Naruto, on the other hand, was still dressed in his tattered tan cloak, but his hair looked slightly longer and his appearance looked more dangerous and feral.

Yoruichi looked up, wincing as she felt a sharp pain near her abdomen. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw Sasuke and the giant skeleton surrounding him. "Wh-What in the world… is that?!"

The skeletal figure surrounding Sasuke suddenly dissipated, and the three dead Arrancar bodies fell through the air and landed on the ground with a loud thud. Sasuke, the figure on the left, turned his head to glance at Ichigo out of the corner of his eyes. "We're…"

"…Your backup," finished Naruto, the figure on the right.

"My backup?" Ichigo's eyes narrowed as he held his Zanpakuto out in front of him. "Stop joking around! I don't recognize you two! Just who are y-?!" Ichigo's eyes widened as the black-haired figure suddenly flickered into view in front of him, kicking him square in the chest and sending Ichigo flying over ten feet away.

Aizen chuckled softly to himself as he watched the two figures carefully. "I see… You've grown a lot, haven't you, Sasuke-kun?"

Sasuke turned around and stared at Aizen with a levelled look in his eyes. "Who are you?"

"Don't you recognize me?" inquired Aizen. "Well, I suppose that it would be hard to with my new appearance and overwhelming reiatsu… Allow me to reintroduce myself… I am Aizen Sosuke." He chuckled as he saw a knowing look appear in Sasuke's eyes. "Remember me now, Sasuke-kun? That's right… I'm the one from the tournament. You've grown a lot since then."

Sasuke unsheathed his Zanpakuto and held it out in front of him. "I see… So you were Menma's acquaintance, huh?" Sasuke looked around calmly before turning his eyes back to Aizen. "So, where is he now? I've been itching for a rematch."

"A rematch?" Aizen seemed amused by this. "You underestimate Menma-kun, Sasuke-kun. Menma-kun had achieved Bankai by the final rounds of the tournament. It was only because of my order that he refrained from using it on you."

Sasuke's eyes widened in mild surprise. "So… Naruto was right, then." He turned to Naruto. "He had already achieved Bankai by then." He turned to Aizen, his eyes narrowing. "What's your interest in me?"

"That question," began Aizen, "is for another time." Aizen held his Zanpakuto out by his side, his foot slightly shifting back. "Now… Shall we begin this pointless battle? I'm interested in seeing how much you two have grown… Sasuke-kun, Naruto-kun."

Naruto growled as he gripped the hilt of his Zanpakuto which was strapped to his back. "How do you know my name?"

Aizen chuckled at this. "Again… That is a question for a later date. Now, come!"

Naruto glanced behind him at Ichigo. "Get these three bodies out of the way and stay back."

…

Both Naruto and Sasuke seemed to disappear as they sped towards Aizen, their Zanpakuto drawn back. Aizen glanced both left and right and seemed to almost grin. "Impressive," he said he blocked a blow from Sasuke with his own Zanpakuto. "You've become ever faster since the tournament. At this rate, you'll even surpass me in speed." He suddenly pushed Sasuke away with his sword and spun around, blocking a surprisingly strong blow from Naruto. "And here's the next one!" Aizen chuckled as he lashed out with his foot, catching Naruto in the stomach and sending him flying. "Much stronger than Sasuke-kun, but not quite as fast."

Naruto grimaced as he went flying through the air. Th-This guy… His strength is unreal! Taking a deep breath, Naruto plunged down at the ground with his Zanpakuto, slowly halting his flight. As soon as his foot touched the ground, he flickered out of view.

Meanwhile, Aizen and Sasuke were going out in an all-out swordfight. "Very impressive," stated Aizen as he traded blows with Sasuke. "Your Zanjutsu skill surpasses even mine if I were at your age. However…" Aizen suddenly seemed to disappear as he swung at Sasuke.

Sasuke grinned as he activated his Sharingan. Sensing something behind him, Sasuke spun around and narrowly avoid a swing from a very-surprised Aizen. "Don't underestimate the Uchiha!" said Sasuke menacingly as he countered Aizen's attack. "You won't be able to catch me off-guard so easily."

Before Aizen could speak, he jumped back as Naruto flickered into view above him, swinging down furiously with both hands gripping the hilt. The ground exploded from the force of the impact, pieces of rock and rubble flying everywhere.

As Aizen dodged the attack, he seemed to be calm despite the powerful attack he just witnessed. "Such strength… No wonder why… You have the presence of an overwhelming monstrous reiatsu inside of you…"

Naruto remained silent as he took a step forward, a calm yet menacing look in his eyes. "Bleed, Sakende Ikari."

"Roar, Raiden-ryū."

Ichigo's eyes widened in shock as he watched Naruto and Sasuke's Zanpakuto release. "Such a strong reiatsu… and that Naruto guy's… His reiryoku..." Ichigo looked down at his trembling hands and clenched his fists tightly. His Zanpakuto and his own reiryoku combined surpasses even… Kenpachi's… "But why isn't Aizen releasing his Zanpakuto?" he asked no one in particular.

"Y-You baka…"

Ichigo looked down at Isshin in surprise. "T-Tōsan!" He quickly knelt down beside him, helping Isshin upright. "Are you okay?"

"Don't worry about me," breathed Isshin heavily. "Anyways, you don't know much about the Sharingan, do you?" After pausing for a moment, he continued. "The Sharingan is a legendary power that is revealed through the eyes. It's an extraordinary power that lets you basically see an opponent's move before they themselves execute it."

"S-Seriously?"

Isshin nodded. "It also lets the user see and copy any Kido spell right down to the smallest detail. It can also dispel any Bakudo spell or any type of illusion or Kido spell. It's an ultimate power that only a few in Soul Society possesses."

"Amazing," Ichigo whispered as he watched Aizen and Sasuke battle it out. "This guy is a lot more amazing than I had made him out to be."

"Yeah…" Isshin narrowed his eyes as he watched Naruto jump into the battle. "As for that boy… Aizen's reiryoku is at a level that's almost incomprehensible, but that boy's reiryoku is at a level that's close to the soutaichou's… A Shinigami battle is one between reiatsu."

…

Sasuke and Naruto cried out in pain as they were sent flying back by an energy attack from Aizen. Slowly getting up, they both struggled to catch their breath as they straightened up. "Even with our Shikai, we're not doing any damage," growled Naruto. "This is ridiculous."

"Yeah," agreed Sasuke as he used his Zanpakuto as support. "It looks like Shikai won't cut it?"

Aizen, who had overheard them, looked up in surprise at what Sasuke said. "Shikai won't cut it? Impossible… Bankai takes ten years to achieve, even for the especially gifted. Even I couldn't achieve Bankai in just a year. You two couldn't have-."

"Not us," interrupted Naruto. "It took me well over ten years to achieve Bankai. Sasuke on the other hand, achieved it in a year."

"Oh?" Aizen's Zanpakuto tip scratched against the ground as he walked towards Naruto and Sasuke. "Well then, come!"

The entire town grew silent as soon as Aizen finished his sentence. The very air seemed to freeze as Naruto and Sasuke and Aizen silently faced each other. An electric-blue aura began to envelop Sasuke, while a fiery-red aura enveloped Naruto.

"Sasuke." Naruto glanced sideway at Sasuke. "Is your Bankai ready to go?"

Sasuke glanced down at the sleek blade of his Zanpakuto. "I don't have full control of it just yet… Still, it's worth a shot." Sasuke glanced back at Ichigo, who was still tending to Isshin and the other two. "Get everybody out of here, Shinigami-daikou."

Ichigo narrowed his eyes as he swung Isshin's arm over his shoulder. "My name's Ichigo, and thank you… Be careful."

"Don't thank me," replied Sasuke in a slightly annoyed tone. "Just get out of here." Turning to Aizen, he gave the Shinigami traitor a sinister glare, raising his blade so that the tip was pointing straight at Aizen's heart. "Naruto, are you ready?"

"Yeah." Naruto raised his sword at well, a sinister reiatsu in the form of steam rose from the edge of the blade. "Ready."

…

"Bankai."

The very air seemed to tremble as dark clouds began to appear overhead. Lightning and thunder began to sound and crackle as a violent downpour of rain began to fall. Aizen looked up at the sky, a surprised look appearing in his eyes.

What is this…?

…As he sped away with three Shinigami on his shoulders, Ichigo looked up at the sky as the rain began to fall. "What the hell is this? Toshiro's Zanpakuto?" Blinking a raindrop off his eyes, he shook his head as he continued onwards. "No, it must be that Sasuke or Naruto guy."

…

A giant creature made of pure lightning began to creep out from the dark storm clouds overhead. Aizen, who was continuing to look up at the sky, looked surprised at the appearance of the creature- or rather, a giant dragon.

"Bankai," repeated Sasuke. "Kaminari no Yoi Keisei."

A… dragon…? Aizen's eyes narrowed as he gripped the hilt of his Zanpakuto tighter. Sasuke-kun… His Bankai has incredible reiatsu… incredible but untamed and uncontrolled. Smirking, Aizen turned his gaze to Sasuke, who had wielding his Zanpakuto which looked like its Shikai state. "Sasuke-kun, you never cease to amaze me. Now, let's see how your Bankai competes with Menma-k-."

Aizen and Sasuke turned at the sound of Naruto's sudden roar. The ground trembled violently as Naruto glared at Aizen with fiery-red slitted-pupil eyes. "Never talk about my brother that way!" roared Naruto furiously. "I'll kill you!"

"Bankai." When Naruto spoke, he spoke in a sinister whisper.

The ground behind Naruto seemed to rise up and crack into thousands of large and tiny pieces of boulders and rubble that rained down on the ground below. Beneath the rubble was an unbelievably large orange-furred creature that rose up from beneath the ground.

Aizen stepped back in surprise at the appearance of the creature. The creature, which towered above the tallest building in Karakura Town, raised its head to reveal… Kurama, the nine-tailed fox. Its paw was big enough to create a paw print that equaled a giant crater, and one of its nine tails was large enough to knock down a giant building with ease. Kurama roared fiercely, the power of the roar causing the trees to rip from the ground and the buildings to creak and crack.

Aizen's eyes widened in shock, genuinely startled for the first time that day. Th-This power… Such monstrous reiatsu that matches even mine at this state… maybe even surpassing my own… Impossible! Narrowing his eyes, Aizen took a step forward as he faced Kurama. No one can surpass my power, least of all these two and their immature Bankai!

Naruto narrowed his eyes as he held his Zanpakuto, which was still in its Shikai state, out in front of him. As Kurama straightened up from his position behind Naruto, Sasuke's lightning dragon remained hovering above Sasuke and the others.

…From their resting spot far, far away from the battlefield, Ichigo looked up at the sky where he saw the figure of Kurama and Kirin towering above the buildings. Wh-What the hell…?

Isshin narrowed his eyes as he looked up at the sky. "This reiatsu… Such powerful reiatsu for a recently attained Bankai is unnatural. Still, can he control it?" Isshin glanced sideways at Urahara as he saw the candy shop owner beginning to stir. "So, you're awake?" Receiving a grunt in reply, Isshin scoffed. "Well, what do you think? Can those two kids take on Aizen? To be honest, even in our current condition, if we don't lend them support, they'll probably-."

"No," replied Urahara quickly. "Don't you recognize it, Isshin-san? That large orange-furred creature…"

Isshin raised an eyebrow as he looked at Kurama. "What about it?"

"It's one of Nine Treasured Zanpakuto of the Rikudou Sennin," explained Urahara. "That creature resembles the nine-tailed fox, the Kyuubi."

Isshin's eyes widened in shock at this. "B-But that's impossible. The nine Zanpakuto have been scattered throughout Soul Society in the nine most secure vaults in existence. There's no way that he-." Isshin was suddenly interrupted by the loud of Kurama, which even though was from over a thousand feet away, caused Isshin and the others to shield their face with their arms as they struggled not to get blown back from the force of the roar.

"S-Such power," said Isshin with a grimace. "With just a roar, too!"

Soifon, who was nearly about to pass out, looked up at Kirin through her blurred vision. Forcing a grin, she chuckled once before her vision darkened. Uchiha Sasuke… You've grown… Finish this battle.

…

Sasuke retained his calm look as he stared levelly at Aizen. "Roar… Kirin."

Aizen stepped back as Kirin reared back, its jaws opening for an attack. "Very well then! I will show you that even with your Bankai, your efforts are futile! Come!"

"OOAAHHHHH!" Naruto let out ferocious as he swung his blade through the air. "GO, KURAMA!"

"ROAR, KIRIN!"

Aizen jumped back as Kirin reared back and lunged at Aizen. THUD! The ground electrified and exploded as the force of the impact created a large shockwave that ripped across two hundred feet of ground in all directions. Aizen was barely to get out of range of the attack because the speed of the attack, which took 1/1000th of a second to reach the ground.

Aizen grimaced as he flew out of the cloud of dust, electric static currents surrounding his body. Straightening up, he shook off the electric static from his body and laughed out loud. "Magnificent, Sasuke-kun," he said as he looked up at Kirin. "A magnificent Bankai indeed. I doubt if anyone in all of Soul Society could have avoided that attack. Truly-." Aizen suddenly seemed to flicker out of view as Kirin lunged at him again. Reappearing behind Sasuke, Aizen swung at him with incredible speed.

Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise as he spun around, raising his Zanpakuto to block the attack; however, Aizen's attack was too quick. But right as the edge of Aizen's blade touched his skin, Sasuke activated his Susanoo, successfully blocking the attack. As Aizen's blade recoiled from the attack, Sasuke commanded it to slam down at Aizen with its fist.

"Don't underestimate the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan!"

Aizen raised his Zanpakuto to block the attack, and as Susanoo's fist slammed down onto Aizen's sword, the ground below cracked and shattered. As Aizen looked sideways, Susanoo's second hand sped towards him, trapping him in its grip. Aizen glanced down at the giant skeletal fingers wrapped around him and scoffed.

"As if this will do anything." Rolling his neck, Aizen emitted an energy wave that caused Susanoo's hand to shatter completely. As he landed on the ground, Aizen turned around to see one of Kurama's large tails slamming down on him.

"How futile," scoffed Aizen as he looked up at the giant tail descending down on him. "I will show you that even with your Bankai, you can't-." His eyes widened in shock as he felt the ground below him give away from the weight of the tail as he blocked it. Th-This is-! Quickly flash stepping out of range, Aizen watched as the tail slammed into the ground below, completely ripping up the concrete and rocks from the ground below.

Staring down into the giant tail-shaped crater that was left from the attack, Aizen noticed a large shadow covering the ground. Looking up, he saw Kurama's paw lunging at him with incredible speed that completely threw Aizen's guard off. "So fast!" Mustering his strength, Aizen slashed forward with the sword, blocking the attack, but Kurama's strength was too great.

So this is the strength of the strongest beast of the Nine Treasured Zanpakuto! thought Aizen to himself as his sword began to falter and give away beneath the monstrous strength. At this rate, even I won't-. His eyes widened in shock as he saw Kirin speed towards him faster than a blink of an eye, its jaws opened and its head reared back for an attack.

Narrowing his eyes, Sasuke's left eye began to bleed as he focused on Kirin. Kirin was suddenly set ablaze by a thin layer of black flames which then spread out to form like a sort of armor.

As Aizen released a monstrous wave of energy to counter Sasuke's Bankai, Kurama lunged at Aizen with his claw from the other side of Aizen.

"GO, KURAMA!" roared Naruto as he swung his Zanpakuto at Aizen.

THUD! A giant cloud of dust rose up that covered a good part of the town. From his position, Ichigo and the other conscious Shinigami and Vizards looked up in shock as a large shockwave of pink and violet energy mixed with electric blue reiatsu and fiery-red reiatsu echoed the area.

"Ichigo."

Ichigo turned to head to face Isshin. "We need to go, now," said Isshin in a stern voice. "We've rested for long enough."

"Yeah…" Ichigo rolled his neck as he stretched out his arms. "Let's go."

When Ichigo and Isshin arrived at the scene, what they saw shocked them into complete silence. The cloud of dust had settled, and Aizen's figure came into view. The entire area surrounding them had been completely obliterated by Naruto and Sasuke's Bankai, and not a single building remained for over two miles in all directions.

As Naruto and Sasuke, who were brutally battered and wounded everywhere, stood by their individual Bankai, they calmly watched Aizen as he straightened up.

Aizen's body was almost completely obliterated. The complete left side of his body was destroyed, while his right arm and leg was being burned from Amaterasu. He had three large claw marks that completely stretched across his figure, and blue currents of electricity continually electrified him, causing his body to tighten up from being electrified once in a while.

"I-, I can't believe it," whispered Ichigo. "They actually defeated him. They actually did it!"

Isshin looked just as shocked as Ichigo. "This is amazing…"

From their positions, Naruto and Sasuke watched Aizen carefully while still on guard. "So," began Naruto, "we should get on and deliver the final blow."

Sasuke nodded as he held his Zanpakuto out by his side, slowly approaching an almost-fatally injured Aizen. "Yeah… If that baka of a soutaichou had just used his Bankai, then this wouldn't have happened. All those overconfident baka captains who withheld their Bankai… They deserve to be killed along with this traitor for making this battle harder than it needed to be."

Naruto nodded in agreement as he followed Sasuke closely behind. "Bakas, all of them." Raising his Zanpakuto high into the air, the edge of the blade seething with intense red flaming reiatsu. Stopping in front of Aizen, who was slightly hunched over and breathing heavily, Naruto pointed his Zanpakuto at him and grinned a feral grin.

"S-So…" Aizen chuckled weakly as he used his Zanpakuto as a form of balance. "You've grown a lot, you and Sasuke-kun. I should have expected this from the wielder of one of the Nine Treasured Zanpakuto of the Rikudou Sennin… Most impressive, Uzumaki Naruto."

Naruto seemed amused by this. "Well, my Bankai is about to disappear. I haven't had it for long, so I can't maintain it for more than five minutes," explained Naruto. "Anyways… see ya." And with that, Naruto swung down at Aizen with full strength.

THUD! A giant shockwave of violet reiatsu rang throughout Karakura Town. Naruto cried out in pain as he was sent spiraling into a building over a hundred feet away. Meanwhile, Kurama let out a ferocious growl as he dissipated, Naruto being unable to maintain his Bankai for any longer. Ichigo and Isshin shielded their faces with their arms as they struggled not to get blown away from the force.

"Wh-What the hell's going on?!" exclaimed Isshin.

Sasuke grimaced in annoyance as he glared at Aizen's glowing violet figure. What the hell is going on over here? Even the soutaichou himself should have been near dead in that state. There's no way that he could release such a powerful amount of reiatsu. Just what the hell is he?

…

Once the violet wave of reiatsu dissipated, Naruto, Sasuke, Ichigo, and Isshin stared at the sight in front of them with utter shock. Aizen had undergone a massive transformation and now and had a phantom-like appearance with long hair and gray eyes with purple sclera.

Naruto stopped as he arrived next to Sasuke, his Zanpakuto in hand. "His reiryoku level is at a level that I can't sense. This guy… My Bankai isn't any use for him anymore."

"Che!" scoffed Sasuke. "Giving up already?" Raising his Zanpakuto into the air, Sasuke slashed down at Aizen, commanding Kirin to swoop down and lunge towards Aizen. "You disappoint me, Naruto! ROAR, KIRIN!"

Aizen grinned as he slashed at Kirin with his Zanpakuto. The impact of the attack caused Kirin to explode into a firework of electric blue light. "A useless attempt, Sasuke-kun. A Bankai of your caliber no longer has any effect on me whatsoever. The only Shinigami who could match my power is Yamamoto Genryusai, and he is now defeated. None of you can best my power, so having said that…" Aizen suddenly seemed to disappear, only to reappear behind Naruto and Sasuke a second later. "We finish this pointless battle."

Naruto and Sasuke looked back at Aizen in shock as their blood suddenly splattered all over the place. Their eyes wide in shock, the two of them dropped face-flat on the ground, instantly defeated.

Ichigo looked on shock as Aizen looked behind him and past Ichigo and Isshin's shoulders to look at Gin, who had standing in the sideline quietly throughout the whole fight.

"Gin," began Aizen, "Let's get going. Unlock the Senkaimon."

Gin's seemingly-permanent grin grew even wider as he withdrew his hands from his sleeves. "Sure thing, Aizen-taichou." Walking over to an empty spot, Gin unsheathed his Zanpakuto and stuck it in a hole where it disappeared, twisting it over counter-clockwise as he unlocked the Senkaimon.

Ichigo and Isshin watched as Aizen and Gin disappeared into the Senkaimon, stunned and unable to do anything.

"Ichigo…" Isshin blinked once as he turned to face Ichigo. "Let's go."

"B-But Sasuke and his friend Naruto!" exclaimed Ichigo as he turned to face them. "We have to-!"

Isshin grabbed Ichigo's shoulder as Ichigo went to walk over to Naruto and Sasuke. "Leave them, Ichigo! The captains as well as those two, we can't help them! The only thing that we can do is go and defeat Aizen!"

"But tōsan…" Ichigo looked down at the ground, a defeated look on his face. "Even Naruto and Sasuke couldn't defeat Aizen with their Bankai… It's useless."

"ICHIGO!"

Ichigo looked up, startled. "If you're not coming… then what are you gonna do?" Pausing, Isshin looked down at the ground before looking back up at Ichigo. "Think hard, Ichigo. Think about what Aizen heading to Karakura Town means. Unless you go, it means that everyone, the people that you want to protect, and the others who are in Karakura Town… are going to all die!"

…

"Tōsan…" A new light- a glimmer of hope, appeared into Ichigo's eyes as he stared hard at Isshin. "Open the Senkaimon."

|The Dangai|

Ichigo and Isshin sped forward in the Dangai, heading straight for Karakura Town. Sensing something wrong, Isshin skidded to a halt as he looked around the Dangai. "Ichigo, stop."

"What is it, tōsan?" inquired Ichigo as he stopped. "What's wrong?"

"The Cleaner isn't here…"

Ichigo looked confused. "Is that a good thing?"

"Well, normally it wouldn't be," replied Isshin. "As its name suggests, the Dangai is suspended in a dimension that's completely cut off from Soul Society and any other world. The Cleaner, which is here to keep Shinigami from staying here for too long, is gone. That means that I'll be able to teach you."

…"Teach me?" Ichigo blinked once as his eyes narrowed. "Teach me what?"
