An Angel's Grace

Chapter IV

A Kiss for Good Luck

Faith growled. Anger coursed through her veins, but she immediately calmed, horrified at how a sin had corrupted her so easily. Wrath... One of seven! Oh, what was she to do now?! To save her Grace, she must remain pure, untouched, such as all Angels.

But no... It was all going down the drain now.

She wanted to cry, but she couldn't. She wanted to curl in on herself, but. She. Couldn't.

There was no way to get back to Heaven, back to Father's graces. What was she to do now?

The angel looked over at the American nation, her sadness being replaced with determination.

She would protect these nations from that vile angel (a small part of her was even more horrified at how she spoke ill of another angel so easily, but Faith couldn't hear it), even if it was the last thing she would do.

True to his word, Alfred invited Gilbert, Francis and Yao over for a party. Unexpectedly, the Italian twins (Romano and Veliciano), Ludwig, Antonio, Arthur, Mathias (he was the only Nordic nation that came; go figure), Kiku and Matthew came along since they had nothing else to do.

At least the Awesome Trio was together once again~!

Also true to his word, Alfred had a lot of alcohol stashed away for moments like these. The only ones to question this was Ludwig and Arthur, but nobody really listened to them.

Well, except for Veliciano listening to Ludwig, but nobody really cared at the moment still.

Getting drunk sounded like just the thing that everyone needed to unwind.

In specific, three countries that represented France, England, and the United States of America.

Alfred just wanted to forget the enticing man (and when the hell had he been attracted to someone like that?!) and how he seemed to blush so easily at just the thought of him. Another shot was down his throat as Alfred's cheeks started to burn.

France... was moping. There was no other way to describe it. At any other time, it would have been funny to Arthur, but he understood why Francis was the way he was now. That angel was on their minds constantly, and she pulled at heartstrings that hadn't been pulled at since... Hm, had it really been that long for any of them?

Arthur scowled at his thoughts. They did not need to be burning his brain at this hour! Besides, he needed to keep an eye on Francis... and the others actually, to make sure that none of them did anything stupid.

"Dude!" Arthur turned to see a drunk Alfred in his face. "Drink something! Loosen up!" America slumped over on Britain's shoulders, hiccupping and giggling away. Arthur wrinkled his nose and sighed, supporting Alfred up with his arm. He looked to be the only other sober one right now.

The magical country knew that would not last long. He needed a drink.

He finally set his 'son' down on his bed and sighed, not really realizing how heavy he was until that moment. Arthur turned to go but stopped when the edge of his sleeve was caught. He turned, ready to scold Alfred, but stopped when he saw that he was still asleep, a soft smile on his face with a bit of drool coming out. "Matthias..." Alfred muttered.

England laughed. Who knew that Alfred would have developed a crush on the unknown little country? Arthur leaned down and finally got out of the American's grip. He patted his blonde hair a bit, a soft smile going over his lips. "Like father, like son, I guess..." He muttered. He laid a kiss on Alfred's brow and quickly left.

He didn't want to forget about what he said, but if he was going to get drunk, he was going to have to.

The only person - thing, really - to witness this cute father-son moment was an invisible angel, smiling softly in her corner of darkness. "There may be hope for you yet..." She muttered to herself, eyes glancing out at the bright moon.

She sighed and went down on her knees, hands clasped together in a stance of prayer.

'Father...' She stopped. Faith couldn't say the normal prayer. No, she needed to speak to her Father personally. Surely, he would understand? 'Father, I am one of many angels cast down from your perfect grace, allowed to find her grace once again. I beseech you, please, allow me to once again see the ties that bound humans - and countries - together in the matrimony of love.'

Faith paused and opened her eyes, looking up into the dark sky, filled with twinkling lights. Really, they were the many souls of humans that have found their perfect redemption, and those of angels that wished to rest and give others a chance to look upon the humans. It was a sad sight, to Faith at least, when she remembered that.

'Amen.'

And with that, Faith settled down into her corner once again to keep watch of her country, wanting no harm to come to him even in dreams.

Hey guys :D Another short chapter, yes, but I'm determined to keep this story with short chapters and try to keep the story itself kind of short, but it's not going to happen with the way it's going xP
