Till We Meet Again Part One
Ed 18 Here! Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Miriel's a horrible unit. Why the heck would you type a whole fanfic about her!?" In my opinion, she's great! Really Effective in battle, I say. She's one of those units who goes: CRITZ ALL DAY. My Husbando is Laurent! And I ship Miriel and Lon'qu. ALOT. This is my fourth year speaking English 24/7 so don't expect so much from me...;-: Thanks for both of the Reviews, by the way, DarkLord!
I was running an rather tedious errand for Sully. Prince Chrom finally realized that Sully's a woman and always will be one. Unless she suddenly becomes transgender. ...Small chance. I was careful not to drop any of the books that were balanced on my forearms. I can't really explain why I chose to carry them in this manner. "Watch where you're going, woman!" a voice shouted at me as I felt someone pull me to the side. This came faster than my reaction time for the books I've been carrying scattered all over the place. My cheeks turned red in embarrassment, this was rather shameful I suppose. Through out the years of my child hood, I have developed a habit. A habit of pulling my hat down whenever I feel extremely embarrassed. I looked up to see who had decided to be my first saviour. It was a young man about my age. He was rather tall and had an mysterious look to him. My Saviour wore clothes that can only be those of Chon'sin's. A peaceful country in Valm. "T-Thank you, sir." I said but to only receive the world's most fascinating answers.
"I can't believe I touched a...woman..." he muttered as my curiosity rose another level. I frowned, "Excuse me?...Sir, do you have gynophobia?" I asked, pushing my glasses back. It was his turn to frown in confusion. When I started picking up the puddle of books, he finally said something. I thought he left, I was wrong again. Fascinating.
All day I thought about yesterday's events. I could hardly focus on my studies, why am I thinking about him? How strange...I rested my head on my forearm, thinking. Thinking about nothing. This was really strange. I don't even know who he exactly is other than a young man from Chon'sin and a saviour...I bolted up when a quick but powerful knock came from outside the window. It was just Sully, she wore an excited grin as she said something to me. She cut her hair again, I commented dryly to myself. I pushed the window open,
"Holy Crappers, Mimi! Happy eighteenth birthday!" she exclaimed breathlessly, throwing a book at me. No. It wasn't a book. It was a Fire tome. "How could you not mention that to me!? Huh, you never did, actually..." Right. Today is my birthday. "Why, thank you. Is there something else you'd like to share?" I asked without even trying to hide the excitement in my voice. It was only a few months ago when I began practicing using tomes. Sully had found a Wind tome that had barely cost her any gold or so she said. "Heck yeah! Lets become Shepherds!"
"Sully...You're proposing that we shall farm sheeps now?" "Damn, I knew you were going to say that...No, I mean it as in Ylisse's Militia!" She then dragged me out of the house. Mother and Father were murdered by some bandits from...Plegia. They were rather weak, I must say. It was strange. I remember having the wind tome in hand and I was about to attack them, when performed what they call 'critical hits'. She threw me onto her horse and off we went. There was only five Shepherds currently. Chrom, his younger sister Lissa, Frederick, Stahl, and the duke's daughter, Maribelle. Sully informed me that Sumia and Cordelia had been training to become part of the Pegasus Knight Squad.
"Sully? Is this the friend you mentioned?" We turned around to face a man that could be perhaps a few years older than us. He had brown hair, and an serious expression on his face. Sully glared at him,
"Yes, Fred. Miriel, meet Fred. Fred, this is Miriel."
"It's a honor to meet you, Sir Frederick." I said noncalantly, tilting my head a little so that my eyewear can catch the sun. He nodded, ignoring Sully's nickname. He walked towards us. Up close, her was rather tall, and had a rather squarish face. Sully then went straight into things,
"Awright, make Mimi here into a Shepherd, please! She has her ways with magic. You did say that we need a mage!" she huffed the last part out.
I clutched the Fire tome that she gave me as if it was my own life, what an childish behaviour. We were sent on a small training mission at Ferox. Sumia's tripping habbit should be analyzed perhaps, she has been tripping since the day we met. According to Sumia, Cordelia had been the main attention in the Squad. She was indeed, extraordinarily skilled, judging by the data I've reccorded. Maybe I should observe Stahl's shadow fencing and stamina instead of Sumia falling to the ground...
"You ready to burn those damn brigand cattles, Mimi?" Sully asked as she toyed with her Bronze Lance. Maybe I should investigate why, but the mission was assigned to Maribelle, Sully, Sumia, and me. We had to protect Maribelle for she couldn't fight but can perform her own profession, healing. The Ylissean Scouts had reported that there is an small band of brigands planning to attack Regna Ferox. They were a full band of Myrmidons from Valm. Why would the Valmese be launching an attack on Regna Ferox? The Feroxi people were able fighters, but Chrom sent us away anyways. We rode our way to our neighboring country. Sumia flew on her Pegasus, Maribelle rode on her horse while Sully and I rode on her horse. I felt like the odd one out. "THAT'S HORSE CRAP, MARIBELLE!" Sully yelled in disbelief. Maribelle had scolded Sully for her language. She had let out an impressive string of curses at the sight of the brigands. Maribelle planted her hands on her hips firmly, "A lady shouldn't be cutting her hair like a man and shouldn't swear to the point of making the filthy brigands blush!" Sully popped a vein, trying desperately to not charge at her and hit her. "Grrrr...Shortstack, you want to have a go with me!?" she demanded at the top of her lungs as we fought off the attacking fools. Sumia looked terrified at first, but she had an advantage. She flew gracefully, stabbing them through the abdomen with eyes sealed tight. I took a unreasonably shaky breath before burning them, "Sully! Behind you-" I yelled. But I was too late. The Myrmidon made an clean cut near her waist, Sully grunted in and struck back. Mairbelle raised her staff, a bright enchanting glow emerged from the staff. Her wound disapeared immediately, my focus was lost at that moment. I wish I hadn't. I felt an sharp, burning pain hit faster than sound on my shoulder, I touched the area where I had been struck. There was something warm...and...Before I could finish my sentence...Everything went dark.
