The Next Chapter...Sephiroth Kingdom
Chapter 8
POV Legretta
This couldn't be more difficult.
Correction it could.
I sighed before questioning the man who was currently restrained to a chair.
"Are you done yet?"
All he did, or all he could do was glare at me almost saying "What do you think?"
I shook my head. "This could have gone smoothly if you had only listened to my directions, but you just had to try and have your way." I smirked then, "Now you are tied, gagged and fastened to a chair. Van, you are worse than a woman who has the absolute need to win every single argument. Why can't you follow simple orders?"
Van continued to glare at me trying to retaliate, but all he achieved were his muffled incoherent cries and the shuffling of his chair. To be completely honest, this was quite entertaining. I can see how my mother could enjoy things similar to this. Seeing him off of his high horse was almost freeing. Going from princess to subordinate was an adjustment in itself. I had forgotten what it was like to be on top, but now that I was back into a position of power I can't help thinking of how I even gave it up for this mission. I took a seat across from him. There was no use in standing while waiting for Nina to arrive. Knowing her it will take her at least an hour to arrive in Yulia city and maybe another hour to find our location. Van's struggling escalated to the point of rocking the chair back and forth.
"If you continue to rock the chair you are going to fall, sir." I warned
It must have fallen onto deaf ears because he kept rocking the chair. His eyes widened when he tilted the chair too far to the left side. It was as if it was in slow motion as he descended to the floor, chair and all. He landed with a loud thud hitting his temple on the smooth floor. His eyes clenched in pain when he let out a pained moan. I had warned him, but when do men ever listen?
"I warned you." I scolded rising from my chair. I shook my head as I made my way towards him.
I leaned down and heaved him and his chair up right dusting my hands when I completed my task.
"Sit tight. It's going to be a little while before my companion arrives. I don't want you killing yourself before you reach the kingdom you wished to see so desperately."
Van rolled his eyes at me.
I grit my teeth at that. How dare he. Not only did you give me a hell of a time trying to be civil, but you have the nerve. I had honestly tried to restrain myself, but the violent urge won me over.
SMACK!
I hit him in the back of the hand with my palm.
"Don't you dare roll your eyes at me ever. Period."
Van shook his head grunting in pain.
I returned to my seat, made myself comfortable, and opened the tome from before. How in the world did he keep the book, and save me? I was almost sure it had been lost in the flames. The tome had all there was to know about my kingdom and more. Strange. The tome was written in both Ancient Ispanian and Sephrith. It went back and forth between the languages; as if it was written by two different authors. I moved the book from the table to my lap, and continued to read the lore written on its pages awaiting Nina's arrival.
POV Nina
Why did Legretta need my help? When I had offered to help her I was joking. I wasn't being serious. I thought she knew that about me. I can't go back on my word now that she actually needs my help, so I'm on my way to her now. I had to leave my free drinks with the guy who was buying them for me. I sighed. What a shame. Yulia city wasn't too far from where I was. I happened to be in Daath when she had contacted me, so all it would take is a dash to Artimis springs. I never understood the logistics of how the spring was connected to the outer lands, but it worked making it good enough for me.
Getting to the spring was easy enough, since the monsters in the area were a piece of cake. I stepped into the spring that had the memory particles flowing from it and activated the teleportation fonic arte. The particles thickened as I chanted engulfing me in a bright light breaking my fonons apart and moving them to my desired destination. I opened my eyes and was in Yulia city atop of the outer world fonic glyph. I exited the fonic glyph and made my way to where Legretta had the poor fool captive. The city seemed restless. As I walked I noticed a crowd of people gathering around a burnt building. This must have been the building Legretta was attacked in. My thoughts were confirmed when I spotted the dead soldiers surrounding the entrance of the building. Not wanting to draw any unwanted attention I departed from the tragic scene and continued my way to the building down the way. I entered the building and climbed the stairs. When I arrived on the second floor I looked around spotting Legretta seated at a table reading a book. Van was next to her bound to his chair.
"Is this the guy giving my eldest sister tons of trouble?" I teased making my way over to him ruffling his hair when he was within arms reach. He shook his head after my gesture and then glared at me. "Feisty little thing isn't he?"
"You have no clue Nina. No clue." Legretta responded still reading her book.
"So what's the plan?"
Legretta shut the book and stretched at my question.
"I'm not sure. He won't listen to me and fights back. I was hoping you could knock him out."
I was all for that, but who's going to carry him? To think my sister forgot that fact was astounding.
"I would gladly take the pleasure of knocking him unconscious. Personally, I think we should have called Brian here as well because knowing him he would jump at the chance to help his eldest sister carry this imbecile."
"Some one called?" A baritone voice called from the stairs, "I hope I'm not late."
"Looks like you already called him. I bow to your foresight." I playfully bowed to my sister. After standing up right I rubbed my hands together, "Let's get this started. Legretta, let me borrow that book for a second."
Now that I had the book, I stepped behind Van and reared up for a good whack. "One, two, three!" I proclaimed before letting it fly smacking him on the back of his head causing him to fall into a deep sleep.
"Brian would you do the honors?"
"Of course." Brian said smiling, "Anything to help."
Brian untied Van from the chair leaving his hands bound, hoisted him up onto his shoulder, and started making his way out.
"Time to go?" I asked Legretta who nodded and followed Brian out the door.
Well this was going to be entertaining.
