Me: … Sorry?
Danny: Wow. Just… Wow. You expect them to accept your apology after forgetting to update for SO LONG!?
Vlad: Even I'm not so low down as to forget to keep faithful readers supplied with constant updates.
Me: Be quiet, fruit loop.
Tucker: … HAHAHAHAHAHA! Danny, dude, you aren't the only one who sees Vlad as a fruit loop! Phantom Wolfie shares your view of things! HAHAHAHA!
Vlad: Shut up, Danny's sidekick.
Me:… Oh, no you didn't! You gonna get pounded into the pavement!
Danny: GOIN' GHOST! *attacks Vlad* Don't You DARE call ANYONE my sidekick! They are much more than that! My friends are HEROES! Well except maybe Phantom Wolfie over there. We aren't great friends… *Pounds Vlad into the pavement before returning to the conversation*
Me: …You don't… like me?
Danny: I was just kidding. I gotta keep your readers entertained SOMEHOW while you ramble on and on.
Me: YAAAAAY! FRIENDS FOREVER!
Danny:… Okaaaaay…
Me: Anyway, I am TRULY sorry—
Danny: *whispers* maybe…
Me: Grrr… —that I haven't updated for a while. However, I will tell you this, I REALLY want to write another fan fiction for Danny Phantom, but I promised that I wouldn't write more than one story at a time (Unless it is a quick one-shot). So… Forgive me?
Danny: No.
Me: *scowls*
Danny: … Maybe?
Me: Grrr.
Danny: OKAY! I forgive you.
Me: Good, how about you, readers?
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN DANNY PHANTOM!
Danny: HA! You wish you did.
Me: It's true…
Chapter 6 (Finally)
"WE'VE BEEN WALKING FOR HOURS!" Paulina complained.
"It's been twenty seconds since you last said that," Sam hissed.
"WE'VE BEEN WALKING FOR HOURS SINCE WE MET CLEANER! Happy now!?" Paulina countered.
"It's only been ten minutes," Danny stated from the front of the group, "and his name is Klemper."
"IT FEELS LIKE WE'VE-" Paulina started.
"Shhh!" Danny exclaimed, noticing that his ghost sense went off.
"No! I have a right to say what's on my mind!" Paulina declared.
"No! Seriously, SHHHH!" Danny murmured.
"Like I said, I have the right-" Paulina began again before Sam harshly clapped her hand over Paulina's mouth.
Out of nowhere, Danny Phantom appeared.
"False alarm, it's just-" Danny began to explain before he was cut off by a squeal.
"Oh my gosh! It's Danny Phantom!" Paulina cheered, having bitten Sam's hand to get her to let go of her. Sam was currently trying to disinfect her hand while giving "Danny Phantom" and Danny Fenton weird looks.
"How?" Jazz muttered.
"Ha ha ha!" Danny Phantom laughed. "Show me where you hid the money!"
"What? What money?" Tucker asked, also giving Phantom and Fenton weird looks.
"Give me the money now, or, well, you know," Phantom said, lighting his hand up with green ectoplasm.
"I knew it! Threatening us! Wanting money! You are evil and this proves it!" Maddie exclaimed.
"HE'S NOT EVIL!" Danny Fenton yelled. Everyone, including Phantom, stared at him.
"What are ya talkin' about? Of course I'm evil!" Phantom exclaimed, rolling onto his back in midair casually. He created a ball of red ectoplasm in his hand and started tossing it around. He smiled evilly the entire time.
"Would you stop?" Fenton asked.
"No. This is way too fun!" Phantom countered.
"Doesn't Danny Phantom have green ectoplasm?" Josh whispered to Mikey, as they were best friends. Mikey nodded, now eyeing Phantom in suspicion.
"Danny, why are you talking to that menace?" Jack asked.
"UGH! Sam, Tucker, Jazz, would you mind explaining?" Danny asked as he turned back to Phantom.
All eyes turned to the trio.
"Well…?" Ashly urged.
"…You gonna stand there like fools…?" Alexa asked.
"…Or explain?" Jessica finished.
"Yeah, like, I am totally confused. Star, aren't you, like, also totally confused? Would any of you like explaining? I am WAY too beautiful for this! I demand to know what is going on! Or you won't be able to look at my beauty!" Paulina demanded.
"Shallow witch…" Sam muttered.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME!?" Paulina screeched. She then attempted to lunge at Sam, but something held her back. Paulina whipped around to see Mr. Lancer.
"I have gotten WAY too used to your reactions to not know what was coming," Mr. Lancer explained to the fuming teen trapped only by his hand. At the strange looks he got from the class he added, "What? Do you honestly think that I pay no attention to any of your behaviors outside of class at all?" With that out of the way, everyone turned back to the clueless trio, Paulina still struggling to get to Sam. Sam either didn't care that Paulina seemed to want to murder her, or she was a little too occupied to notice. Probably she didn't care…
"Ummm… Danny? We, uh, we have no idea what is going on…" Jazz said.
Danny turned around to look at them, cutting off his glaring contest with Phantom.
"Really?" He asked, stunned. "You have no idea what is going on?"
"No…" the entire class, including Sam, Tucker, and Jazz, and excluding Maddie and Jack, answered.
"I know what is going on," Maddie said. "That ectoplasmic scum has brainwashed you into believing he is innocent.
"UGH!" Danny exclaimed. "THIS ISN'T DANNY PHANTOM!"
"What?" The class, this time including Maddie and Jack, said. At the same time, 'Danny Phantom' was laughing like this was the funniest thing he had ever seen—and it probably was.
"Allow me to introduce you," Danny said. "This," —he indicated 'Danny Phantom'— "is Amorpho. He can change what he looks like. And Amorpho, this is my class. Now please return to your original form."
"Fine," Amorpho obliged, transforming into Danny Fenton this time. "You ruin all the fun."
"AMORPHO!" Danny yelled, hoping that his class wouldn't make any connections between how little Amorpho had to change his appearance to look like Danny Fenton. Hopefully they won't notice similarities between the two.
"CHANGE INTO YOUR ORIGINAL, LIKE I SAID BEFORE, FORM!" Danny yelled when Amorpho stayed as Danny Fenton.
"Man, are they stupid," Amorpho whispered, indicating —Danny guessed— to how his class and parents hadn't figured out his secret yet.
Returning to his original form, Amorpho then flew off, yelling something about how Danny ruins all the fun—again. Danny ignored him. However, Danny might have to catch him later, for he was most likely heading off to the real world to take the form of someone else and cause chaos.
Oh well, Danny thought, I will just catch him and then pester him about allowing everyone to get so close to my secret.
Everyone was silent. Mostly. Paulina was whining about how that wasn't Danny Phantom.
"Mr. Fenton, if you don't mind me asking, how did you know there was a ghost in the first place?" Mr. Lancer asked without warning.
"Uh, it suddenly got colder?" Danny answered, but because it was a lie—and he was horrible at lying—it sounded more like a question.
"If you don't mind, I would like the truth," Mr. Lancer stated.
"Besides," Danny's mom added, "the temperature already is quite cold. It is the Ghost Zone, for crying out loud! How would you ever be able to detect a temperature change that small!
"Uh, I—uh—would rather not—um—talk about how I knew there was a ghost right now…" Danny replied. Everyone but Team Phantom gave him suspicious looks.
"Alright," Maddie replied, noticing the stress in her son's eyes. "Let's keep moving. Tell us if you recognize anything and can find your way back to the Fenton portal, Danny. "
Not twenty minutes after they began walking, blue water vapor curled out of Danny's mouth, hanging in the air for mere seconds before disappearing.
"Great," Danny muttered. "Just great. Yeah, I totally need my class to get closer to my secret. Thanks a lot, you stupid ghosts…"
Danny looked up to see none other than Skulker flying at them.
"What? But Skulker was trapped in the thermos…" Danny mumbled before memories of the crash flew through his mind. Of course! Someone found the thermos and freed Skulker! Either that or the thermos was destroyed in the crash… Either way, Skulker was now free, and that was NOT a good thing!
"GET DOWN!" Danny yelled just as Skulker fired some rockets at the class. Luckily the class responded quick enough and those who didn't were pulled down to the natural path by people near them. The missiles passed over their heads. Danny thanked his luck — they weren't seeking missiles.
"Oh great," Danny muttered. It appeared he had spoken too soon, for the missiles corrected their course and flew straight at Danny.
"And it appears that they only seek ghosts. Well, that is good and bad. My class is safe, but I am SO DEAD!" Danny mumbled before running in the opposite direction.
As one missile was about to hit Danny, he jumped behind a green rock (or if he could even call something that in the Ghost Zone). That missile exploded on impact. Straight ahead Danny saw something floating just above the path. Wow, it looked MAD. At first Danny considered it to be Skulker, but quickly denied that theory. It was much to thin… and had flaming blue hair?
Ugh, Danny thought, I don't have time for this!
He looked behind him to see how many missiles were chasing him. There were five. Skulker had originally fired six, he supposed.
Danny finally reached the ghost floating above the path.
Ember? Danny wondered.
"YOU WILL PAY FOR SENDING KLEMPER TO FIND ME!" Ember exclaimed as he ran by. She shot one purple fist from her guitar before two of the missiles changed course again and hit Ember, knocking her far away. "I'll be back…" Ember muttered before she passed out. Danny of course didn't hear her, however. He was too busy running for his life.
Danny turned around to be hit in the face with Ember's purple fist that she fired.
Ow, Danny thought. I suppose I MAY have deserved that. Why are there still three missiles following me? I thought more of them would go after Ember because she is a full ghost… Maybe it is because I am more powerful, therefore I have a stronger ecto-signature… Whatever, I'm a little busy right now.
While Danny was very fast in ghost mode, he wasn't as fast as a human. At least, he couldn't go as fast without revealing too much. Danny ran about five more steps before the first missile hit him, flinging him through the air and onto his back. The second missile hit his chest while the third hit his face.
"Ow…" Danny mumbled. "Good thing I have healing powers… Wait… I… Gotta… Find… Skulker…" Danny turned his throbbing head to see Skulker go after Ember, who was barely in view. "Thank god. Maybe I'll… just rest here… Just close my eyes for a few minutes… The rest of my class will be here soon enough, so I'll just rest… I couldn't have gone far…" With that, Danny fell asleep.
Unknown to him, however, his class would NOT be there "soon enough". Danny had unknowingly used some of his ghostly speed to run from the missiles, otherwise ALL of them would have hit Danny, and that would not have been good. The class, even though they were running, took a long time to reach Danny. Around four hours to be precise. The class couldn't believe Danny's speed.
"I SEE HIM!" Sam yelled from her position at the front of the now jogging class. At her words, everyone sped up, even Paulina.
Sam dashed to Danny's side and began to panic when she saw huge cuts and bruises on his face and chest. She shook him slightly.
"Danny?" she asked the still form. "Danny, wake up!" He still didn't move.
The rest of the class caught up to her and gasped at the sight of their classmate lying on the path.
"He looks awful!" Matt exclaimed. Sam glared at him with an expression of "REALLY? I THOUGHT HE LOOKED WONDERFUL!" (Quite sarcastically of course).
"Oh my god! Danny! Please be alright!" Maddie exclaimed as she quickly knelt by her son. She pressed her fingers to the top of Danny's neck near the ear.
"I feel a pulse but it is faint!" Maddie informed everyone. Sam just held her best (*cough cough* future boyfriend and current crush *cough cough*) friend's hand. The faint pulse didn't surprise her; he was half ghost, what would you expect? She just shook her head at Danny's carelessness. If he had used his ghost powers, he could have avoided most of the injuries he gained. He was just too foolish to realize that he was far enough away from the class to use his powers safely.
Suddenly a voice spoke from ahead of the group on the path.
"Ph—er—Fenton? What is he doing in the Ghost Zone? Ah, well time to get some revenge…"
Everyone looked up and gasped. There was a ghost, not even six feet away, leaning against his motorcycle calmly. A green haired ghost walked up next to the ghost and leaned against his shoulder. A patch of black seemed to move behind the ghost.
Sam and Tucker gasped at the sight of the ghost and instinctively moved in front of the unconscious Danny who still lay on the path.
Jazz, however, stood up and the ghost gasped slightly at the sight of her before regaining his calm expression.
"Out of the way, Jazz," the ghost ordered.
"How do you know our daughter?" Jack demanded.
"None of your business," the ghost declared.
Jack looked like he was about to speak before the ghost spoke again.
"You'll all wish that you hadn't bumped into me when I'm through with you," the ghost declared.
Just then a knew form jumped in front of the class. Everyone gasped. Sam and Tucker looked at the figure guarding the class (with Jazz closest to the figure) and then glanced behind them. They looked back at the figure in front of them.
"This may cause some suspicion…" Sam stated.
Ta da! Finished with that chapter! Confused? Well…
Too bad!
There used to be a challenge here, but someone already won that, so, if you want, you can just ponder who the new ghosts are.
