The screams. They were torturing her for sure!
They echoed within the stone walls. The sound reverberating about the place making his ear twitch wildly in trying to locate the sound. With every sob that Toothiana was making, Aster was growing more and more impatient. His right hand was cupping a bleeding bite wound upon his left appendage, right audit twitching a touch more before he dipped into an open passageway off the main hallway.
"Sheila!? You in here, Toothy?"
His voice seemed to travel, not that he wished for that to happen, but the only sound that answered him was a faint sob and a rattle of chains. Slowly standing upwards, he moved forwards, right hand leaving his arm to grasp his final boomerang to have it at the ready. It was dark, very dark. He could barely see the whiskers on either side of her twitching nose.
The sounds of the battle behind him followed along the pathways around, of course, Aster wasn't worried about those blokes. It was Tooth that he was most worried about. With him slipping forward some more, the room was strangely empty of Nightmares and Apes. Suspicion began to curl in his stomach before a flash of light happened. Like the darkness receded enough for him to see. Though, he instantly wished it hadn't. The limp figure that greeted him as the nightmare sand flowed from the room had caught his attention. Dangling from the ceiling from a single strand of chain links, Tooth had been skinned. The raw looking redness of her feathers having been plucked out from her flesh greeted him and he looked on in horror.
"Oh Sheila… What did they do to you…" Hopping forward, he put his boomerang into his leather holder then began to fiddle with the chains to release her. His heart pounded in his chest at the sight of a gash there along her spine under her wings. She had been plucked from the waist up, only her legs, hips, and cheeks, had been left unplucked.
"Let's get you out of here, Darlin'. We'll take care of Pitch later, yea?" Talking quietly, he didn't wish to startle her into slapping him with those delicate wings. Once he spoke though, those beautiful amethyst eyes fluttered open to view the floor below her.
"A-Aster…?"
His heart leaped, she was awake! He was sure she would heal then. Moving so that he braced her belly against his shoulder, he puffed out some breath to ruffle her feathers as he stood up and loosened the chains enough to get them undone from her arms.
"Yea, Sheila. We're all here to save you… Let's get you some coverings and get ya home."
"No…. not home… no…"
He felt her go limp. His ears perking upwards even as she draped over his shoulder and he eased her down along his chest and cradled her to himself. Looking around swiftly, he grabbed a blanket and covered her torso with it. Yes it had feathers, but he didn't wish the others to worry and get distracted by her state. With her covered and in his arms once again, he fled the room and back towards the fight.
Nothing. No one stood in his way, no one to fight. Not even Pitch who watched from his nightmare sand got in his path. Aster continued to run. His frame bounced swiftly, only he could run this fast with her in his arms, but he could feel the laughter growing within the dark corners. Within the dark corners of the hallway even with the other three situated in a mini circle in the main room with the large bronze globe and the hanging cages.
"We've got her, mates! let's dip out of here!" His voice rang out as soon as he spotted them all, Sandy's head kicking up with a grin but then paused at the blanket. Tooth wouldn't need a blanket about her unless something ultimately bad happened to her. Symbols appeared over his cranium for an explanation even as Jack and Nicholas glanced in the hopping male's direction.
"Ja, let us be off then"
"Alright! Mission accomplished!"
As the began to form a protective circle about themselves, Sandy helping with his golden sand, that was when Pitch struck out. The black tendrils shot from the darkest corner of the cavern, twin laughter echoing as the Guardians fell for their trap. as a couple of the tendrils slapped Aster across his injured side, a few more ripped Toothiana from his arms and dangled her high above the Guardians head, The high ceilings allowing this to happen.
"Now... for the ultimate trick up our sleeves..." Pitch's voice slithered free of the sand as he rose up to be equal with the dangling tooth fairy. With a mere thought, tendrils coiled about the beautiful delicate wings along her back and began to grow taunt, His golden eyes merely watch as Aster's face grew panicked and the other's expressions grew in horror.
"NO! You bloody Dingo, i'll make you pay!"
