Hi! I'm back!

(A few months later): Oops. I guess I forgot to finish… Go ahead… Sic Voldy on me… I am so ashamed. *Hides in corner*

(A few more weeks later): Hehe, sorry. I sort of had a lot going on… Sorry.

(A few more weeks later): Oops. Sorry. Again. I'll just post this where its at instead of putting it off anymore. I think you guys have sent Voldy after me about a million times by now.

Danny: Aw, so no Voldy attacking the reviewers?

Me: You can sic him on all of the people who still didn't review.

Danny: YES! *Waves elder wand*

Voldemort: I'm BAAAAAACK! AGAIN! I WILL KILL YOU HARRY POTTER!

Danny: No, you won't! *Gets into extremely long argument with Voldemort*

Me: Hopefully they'll be done by the end of the chapter.

Narrator: May I begin now?

Me: Go ahead my fine sir.

After spinning wildly out of control for a while, the island finally slowed down and began to gently drift as if in a slight current.

Danny glanced back at the broken ends of the path again only to see that the lizard ghost wasn't following them. It was obvious that it had sent them careening across the Ghost Zone's creepy atmosphere, but why? For its own enjoyment? Because of a grudge on Danny? The latter was surely possible. After all, Danny was slightly infamous for shoving ghosts into a tiny ghost containment device notoriously deemed the Fenton Thermos and releasing them into the Ghost Zone. However, Danny hadn't actually been able to catch the lizard ghost, so it couldn't have a personal grudge against him based on the thermos. Unless he was just mad at Danny for trying to stop him in Amity Park. If that were the case, then why wasn't it following them to try to end them (or perhaps end only Danny)? Danny almost slapped himself. The blood blossom infested island was like a giant warning sign to full ghosts. Half ghosts had a much harder time detecting the ghost repelling flowers, but full ghosts could tell when a blood blossom was nearby—an island full of them was sure to be like a flashing red light in their minds. That was also probably why the ghost had chosen to send them off into the depths of the Ghost Zone on that particular island. It would be a lot trickier for Danny to avoid the flowers while keeping his secret.

Danny sighed as the class got to their feet. Danny had joined them on the ground even though he desperately had wanted to stay standing. The ghost's unnecessarily hard shove appeared to Danny as an odd sort of challenge. He had been hard pressed to ignore the urge to stay standing to show the lizard he wasn't a joke, but eventually keeping his secret won over. Danny simply glared at the disappearing image of the lizard.

The class shook as they looked to the adults and Team Phantom for instructions. Maddie was scrutinizing the trees behind them. She hoped that they could get off the island without any trouble from ghosts. Danny secretly hoped the same as well, although he knew that it would be rather unlikely to run into any ghosts with so many blood blossoms around.

To make sure of the vacancy of the island, Danny switched his ghost tracker on. He had mastered the art of doing so without his eyes turning green as they used to when he used this power, yet his eyes still glowed softly. It was strong enough for someone to notice, so Danny made sure to step ahead of the group so that everyone was behind him and couldn't see his face. Sam and Tucker realized what he was doing, so they stepped forward with him and began talking quietly to each other. This created an image that was far less suspicious than if Danny had been standing alone, having a staring contest with the ghostly forest.

The colors of the Ghost Zone's version of plant life dimmed and became rather transparent as Danny searched the area. This enabled him an easier time as he hunted for any ghost traces. Even though he was still rather inexperienced with this power, Danny attempted to extend his range of sight as far as it would go. It reached deep into the forest where Danny caught sight of what looked like a strangely colored wisp of smoke. This was a ghost trace, and Danny could tell by the thickness that it wasn't an overwhelmingly strong ghost, but not exactly the box ghost's level of power either. The color was a murky looking mix of red and brown, slightly resembling the hue of uncooked meat.

Danny's eyebrows rose. He hadn't expected to find any trace of a ghost on the island because of the dangerous blood blossoms, and this trace was rather vibrant and noticeable which meant the ghost had been here quite recently. Danny shrugged his shoulders slightly. The blood blossoms probably drove the ghost away soon after it arrived anyway. The trace was at the very edge of his strained vision, so he couldn't tell if the source of it was on the island. He decided not to worry for the time being for there were more pressing matters to be dealt with.

Danny turned around and looked at the fallen hispanic girl. Paulina had not woken yet, and that was a problem. The class needed to be ready to get off the island if they spot another natural path, and that could be within a few seconds to a few days…or… uh… twenty-four hours, seeing as there wasn't really a 'day' in the Ghost Zone. Unfortunately, Danny wasn't sure how common natural paths really were, and therefore he couldn't accurately guess when they would come across another one that they could jump onto. Danny desperately hoped that if they found one it would be an almost direct path to the Fenton Portal.

"Danny," Sam whispered, "did you see anything with your ghost tracker?"

He glanced at her before sighing, "Yeah. Only one ghost, though, and I don't think they stuck around for long."

"Why do you say that?" Jazz asked as she walked up to them. She seemed slightly shaken from the attack from the island, but she appeared to recover quickly.

"This island… Well… I don't know how to say it, but I'm pretty sure it's a death trap for ghosts."

The members of Team Phantom gasped slightly, realizing the implications of what he said.

"Does the same go for, you know… you?" Tucker questioned wearily.

"Yeah," Danny said as he turned his apprehensive blue eyes to his friends and sister. "This island is inhabited with blood blossoms."

"How do you know?" Sam asked.

"I came in contact with a few," Danny said. Before his friends could question him further, he added, "The ones that I found were a different kind of blood blossom. Instead of roses, they were star-shaped. As soon as my hand was out of their range, they stopped shocking me."

The rest of Team Phantom was speechless at this new discovery.

"I just need your help watching out for the real thing… and any other potentially dangerous flowers" Danny stated hopefully.

"Of course," Jazz agreed for Sam, Tucker, and herself.

"Great," Danny said happily. "Now let's get moving."

The group of four turned to see that the class was much less prepared to 'get moving.' They were still shaken from the lizard's attack and very few of them were actually standing. Maddie chose that moment to address the class.

"Alright, we need to investigate this island seeing as we may be on it for a while until we find another natural path. Seeing as some of us aren't exactly up to exploring yet, I suggest that we should break up into two groups. One should stay here and the other should explore the island."

For once, almost the entire class seemed pleased with the plan. It meant that some of them could stay out of danger and rest. Danny, however, was not happy about the plan. Splitting up, in his mind, was the worst plan of action that their small group could take. It would mean that he would be with only half of the group, leaving the other group of people without his protection.

Sighing silently, Danny pondered his mom's plan. I suppose that I have to accept that we have to spilt up. We need to look around the island… I need to look around the island. If there is a ghost on this island, I need to be with the group that goes exploring. Hopefully the group that stays here will be safe… But just in case…

"Hey, Tuck," Danny muttered.

"Yeah?" he whispered back.

"I need you to stay with the group that won't be exploring, just in case they need protection. I'll go with the group that will go into the forest. Sam, you come with me."

"Why do I have to stay?" Tucker whined indignantly.

"Because I said so," Danny joked. "Besides, Sam needs to come just in case there is a medical emergency. She's gotten good at it since she's had to patch me up so many times. You're more suited to stay here and defend people…Of course, Sam's also more willing to eat the blood blossoms if we come across any…"

"Alright," Tucker agreed hastily.

"Jazz will stay with you, Tucker. My mom will probably be part of the group that goes exploring, and Sam and she are skilled enough to help me handle anything that happens," Danny added while Jazz nodded her agreement.

At that moment, it seemed, Maddie had decided that the teens had had enough time to figure out whether they wanted to accompany the group that would go exploring or the group that would stay where they were.

"Alright, everyone. Now, who's ready to go trekking through the forest, and who wants to stay here?" Maddie asked enthusiastically. "Let's do a show of hands. Mr. Lancer will be staying here to monitor those who stay as well as my husband, Jack, and those who want to come into the forest will be with me." Jack looked as if he had lost a very long argument over whether or not he got to go into the forest. Danny figured that his mom must have convinced his dad to stay by telling him that he could save his group if any ghosts showed up, and he could do it all alone by his heroic self.

"Now, who wants to go exploring in the forest?" Maddie asked. Only three hands went up. Those that did belonged to Danny, Sam, and Valerie. "We need at least one more person."

Danny made a split second decision and whispered, "Jazz, can you handle this group without Tucker? With dad to back you up?" At a nod from Jazz, Danny elbowed Tucker gently. He got the hint and raised his hand into the air.

"Good, I think five is a good number," Maddie decided. "So let's get going!"

Before the group of five made their way into the forest, Danny asked Jazz, "You've got a thermos, right?" When Jazz nodded her head, Danny smiled encouragingly at his sister. He, Sam, and Tucker jogged over to Maddie and Valerie and together entered the Ghost Zone's version of trees.

Maddie walked in front of the teens, using a glowing double ended saber to slice at some branches that were in their path.

Danny smiled slightly at his recollection of his and his mom's 'adventure' in Wisconsin thanks to 'Dalv.' She had used the same saber then as she used now. Of course, in that situation, it was used to attack some ghosts and crush a tiny mouse ghost.

"Danny, left!" Sam suddenly whispered urgently.

Accustomed to urgent and normally crucial directions such as "Duck!", Danny had no trouble leaping to the left immediately. The three people walking ahead of them turned around and lifted their eyebrows in question at Danny's ungraceful crash into some bushes. Danny shook his head to free some comical leaves from his mess of hair and smiled sheepishly. Maddie and Valerie just rolled their eyes, deciding the strange action to be a result of Danny's well known clumsiness. Tucker, however, knew better and kept looking to Danny for an answer. The questioned half-ghost just shrugged and pointed towards Sam, who was smirking at the stray leaf in his hair.

Danny caught her look and shot a questioning one in return. She shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes.

"Uh, guys?" Tucker suddenly commented. "Why are we still being silent? Valerie and Danny's mom are way ahead of us."

Danny and Sam just stared dumbly at him for a moment before commenting, "Right," in unison.

"So why did you make me take a leap of faith into a bush?" Danny asked.

"All I was doing was saving your ghostly half afterlife," Sam replied smugly.

"Huh?" Danny questioned.

Sam simply rolled her eyes and pointed at some dangling vines. Just now Danny noticed their red hue and the slight emission of red smoke from their surface.

"You were about to ignorantly walk right into those and get tangled in a mess that I would have a hard time getting you out of," Sam stated simply.

"Wow," Danny muttered, "Blood blossom vines? What do you call something like that?"

Tucker, carefully scrutinizing the vine declared, "Blossom Ivy! Or maybe Blood Ivy?"

"Let's stick with Blossom Ivy for now," Sam decided. She broke her gaze away from the vine to see Danny moving closer to the vine. She lunged in between him and the vine with her arms spread wide in a gesture to stop. "What are you doing Danny!? Do you want to get yourself killed?"

"What?" Danny asked.

"'What?' What do you mean, 'What?'!? These are a form of Blood Blossoms, and, in case you've forgotten, could potentially kill you!"

"I know, but I didn't detect their presence. Usually I can tell when Blood Blossoms are near because of a sort of tingly feeling that becomes a slight electric shock and then a full on electric shock, and so on. I didn't even know these were here."

"Exactly. If something wants to kill something else, would it broadcast it? No, it would try to go unnoticed. Some of the deadliest killers are the ones that can't be detected," Sam declared.

Danny nodded grudgingly and Sam even managed to wrestle a promise out of him that was something along the lines of 'Don't you dare deliberately touch a blood blossom or form of blood blossom or I will personally kill you all of the way.'

Suddenly the three teens realized the lack of Valerie and Danny's mom, and rushed to catch up with them. It wasn't hard thanks to the oddly trimmed plants that were cut to make a pathway. When Danny, Sam, and Tucker caught up, they were pleased to see that neither woman had noticed their lack of presence.

"Try to keep up, you three," Maddie ordered.

Or not.

Danny gave his mom a smile even though she didn't turn around to see it and said, "We were talking, sorry."

"Well, walk and talk," Maddie commented lightly.

Danny glanced at his friends. We can't really, he thought with a smirk. After all, we do talk about secrets that we don't really want you to know about… you know… just how your son is half ghost, nothing special…

"Okay," he agreed despite his thoughts.

"Good, now, we should probably head—"

A beeping noise interrupted her.

"Ghost detected. Ectosignature source straight ahead," droned a female voice. Maddie lifted the sleeve of her wrist to see a watch that she had been fixing while they were walking. She kept it on her wrist even when it didn't work because she still used it as a regular watch. For some reason, she had to calibrate it to only react to strong ectosignatures— it repeatedly indicated that Danny emitted a slight ectosignature. Of course, she didn't know that her son was half ghost and his usually powerful ectosignature was dampened while in his human form, but what she didn't know couldn't hurt her… much.

"That way!" Danny finished for his mom and charged ahead, the rest of the small group on his heels.

Just as Maddie was about to stop the children from bursting through the bushes to what looked like a clearing, all four children stopped and lowered themselves into crouching positions. Maddie was slightly startled at the younger generation's wise choice of action, or lack thereof. They remained utterly silent, attempting to get a glimpse of the ghost in the clearing ahead. Maddie wondered if it was instinct or something more.

Although she noted Danny's expert movements as he shifted to the left to get a better view, Maddie caught his arm to stop him. She felt that she could trust Danny the most in this situation, so she silently gave him a signal to go around to the other side of the clearing. She was unexpectedly thankful she had drilled basic hand signals and battle tactics into her son. Of course, he had attempted to look as disinterested as possible, but Maddie had been able to tell that he was secretly interested in what she had explained. His eyes had been attentive when she demonstrated the signals, and when asked to copy the signals she had taught him back to her, he had done it with meticulous perfection and the upmost determination to master the signals. She had a feeling he had taught it to his friends as some sort of code or something similar.

She was proven correct when Danny didn't have to pull his friends to follow him. They had seen the signal and followed after Danny without any explanation. Valerie stayed with Maddie, waiting for the teens to circle around.

Snapping back into reality as she glanced at Valerie, she realized that she had forgotten that they were only teenagers. This was such a usual situation for her to be in that she treated it as if her companions were experienced, fully capable ghost hunters— as her companions usually were. She made a move to call Danny, Sam, and Tucker back, but they were already too far away to do so without the ghost's notice. She sighed—to late to turn back now. She just hoped that their group would be able to capture the ghost without it firing a single ectoray— hence the surprise attack.

Maddie glimpsed Danny's thumbs up from the other side of the clearing. He, Sam, and Tucker were ready. Well, it was now or never.

Maddie gave the signal for prepare with weapons. She knew Danny had them—she had tried to sneak some in his backpack but was surprised—and proud—to find he already had some. She hoped that he had stored them in Sam's backpack for immediate use. Maddie then specifically made the sign for the Fenton Thermos. It was one of the few weapons with an actual sign because of its great importance. Maddie was surprised to look at Valerie and find her holding a slightly different version of a Fenton ecto weapon. This one was red and black instead of the typical green and silver.

Must be a Red Huntress fan, Maddie thought in amusement. She decided not to give the reason for why she had an ecto weapon in the first place too much thought. Kids these days.

When Danny gave a signal, Maddie asked Valerie if she was ready. She nodded, and gave the signal for 'attack.'

Danny, Sam, and Tucker jumped out of the bushes at the same time that Valerie and Maddie did. They aimed their weapons toward the center of the clearing where a lone ghost floated.

Me: I think that they are almost finished arguing.

Danny: See? That's why rainbows are planning the massive invasion and Phantom Wolfie will be the first to be abducted.

Voldemort: *Thoughtfully* Yes, yes. Indeed.

Me: Wait, what!?

Danny: RAINBOW INVASION!

Me: NOOOOOO! Get the pineapples! *Runs away to ready the pineapples*

Danny: Well, I guess Phantom Wolfie will be back to finish this story as soon as she gathers enough pineapples. See you then!
