With each step I take, It leads me to an unknown world.
With the walls of the Warren all around, she felt safer than she had when she first woke up in the strange bed and within walls not at all her own. Mauve hues wandered about the sights, taking in the sunlight even though it felt like it was burning her skin. Skin... yes... Looking down at her arms, she was finally tanning from the pale white to the more natural color of her child hood. Pausing in her steps, feet being cushioned by the grass she stood in, she held her arms out and looked more fully at the skin. All of her feathers were gone as well as her wings but she wasn't fading any more than this. Her castle back in China was in perfect shape since Sandy and Jack were helping her fairies keep their heads and with the teeth collection. Aster had been amazing as a host.. thinking on Aster, she turned faintly, peering through the long black hair that trailed down her spine to search for the pooka. He had taken his days to either being hidden away or following her about to keep an eye on her. Eyes still searching, she caught sight of grey fur and a tail duck out of sight to be behind an egg guardian. Turning, she tucked her hands behind her back and wandered in that direction with a faint smile on her face.
From that first day in waking up in her friend's burrow, she had been depressed and shell shocked over it all. North had made her some clothes from materials that Jack had rushed around to find in her own home. The blues, greens and gold fabric reminded her of her feathers and they did indeed help her mood. She had several other outfits that had been made for her but she had, at least for the first two weeks, stayed in her room and cried over the loss of the life she had grown into since she had grown her very first feather. How proud her mother had been in seeing them, yes the fear had been there and it had turned out to be justified. Shaking her head, sending the black strands over her shoulders to trail down her back some more. The thick length of the strands bounced with a faint lightness with every movement she made towards the hiding pooka.
"Aster!~ I found you!" Quickly ducking around the guardian, she paused and frowned. He wasn't there. Standing up straight, sh looked around with a confused look in her eyes before she looked upwards. Bam! Aster had jumped up and was now grinning down at her from the top of the guardian. Just chilling there.
"Oh aye, I see ya found me, sheila. But can ya catch me?" Leaping, he quickly gained ground between them before he stopped and looked back at her. She was still standing there, hands behind her back as she watched him run. Instantly, his heart fell. How could she catch him when she couldn't... making a fist, he slammed a side of his hand against his own forehead with a faint huff. "Such a gumby..." moving back, he reached out and pressed a hand to the back of his friend's head and drew her close for a tight squeeze.. "Sorry Tooth... I wasn't thinking straight. I... "
With his words trailing off, she grinned and poked his nose. "Caught you!~" Spinning from him with laughter, she could hear the pin drop there in Aster's head as a light bulb went off. Instantly he chuckled and went after her running frame. She knew he was acting in such a carefree way to keep her smiling but it was hard enough to keep herself smiling.
Aster watched Toothy spin away and smile, a light lifting along his lips even as he went after her a bit slower than normal. It was nice to see her smile again. She looked more human than ever... her skin was tanning due to being outside for so long during the day and with her long black hair? She was more beautiful than she had ever been in her life. She was the same happy person, even with the depression lingering over her head. The flowing skirt she wore fluttered behind her running form, his eyes catching every movement her feet and legs took through the tall grass. The top covering her chest was merely thick green shimmering fabric tied between her breasts in a twist knot so that the fabric kept her breasts in check as she ran along. Aster might not have been able to help the way his green eyes watched the fabric flutter along her hips or the golden jewelry over her ankles and wrists. He and North had searched, created, and adorned her with every piece of jewelry to remind her of her feathers until they grew back.
Though... Aster didn't mind them not coming back... she was still the keeper of Memories... her little faeries did their jobs well enough without her but he wasn't sure if Jack would want to help out forever... They would get to that bridge in the future he was sure... For now? He continued to chase Toothy through the grass he lined the baskets every Easter... this time of year, it was cut a touch short but it would grow long once again.
"I'm going to catch ya, Tooth!"
"No you won't!~" Her laughter echoed the warren as she ran from her friend only to slip on a hill as she scrambled up it and hid behind a large willow tree. The drooping branches swept around her creating a veil from the rest of the world and she instantly felt calm and happy... Of course, not seconds later Aster was there, an arm about her waist and his fingers wiggling over her sides in a tickle that had her bursting out in laughter and kicking her feet about.
It was a good day.~
