Ch.11: Evil Craving
(King Lost's POV)
I remember the harsh times, clearer to me than most Lost. How we were beaten and mistreated, forced to starve. There was no more good times left for us, now only hunger reigned.
Hunger…hunger…food was all we craved, seeking nourishment in a fallen paradise that had been taken over by jewel loving fiends. They didn't care about my kind, they didn't care if we starved, all they wanted was to be rich, and their cruel ways were keys for control.
"Data, must find data," I begged, dragging himself along the ground pathetically with his claws.
My stomach grumbled, wanting food, but not an edible piece of data could be found. One our captors noticed me, and whipped me hard with his lash. I couldn't keep the cry of pain from escaping my lips.
No more torment! Please, no more!
As if in answer to my screams, a surge echoed across all of Cyberspace, eliminating the threat that imprisoned us, giving another chance to live.
Our tormentors were gone, but the hunger still reigned, biting at my stomach like vicious beast calling for food. I had to find some data, whatever the source, and feed on it until I was good and full.
Fortunately, after the power surge, a miraculous supply of food ended up materializing right at our door. Glowing, purple bits of data, more than we have to eat than in what felt like years.
Restlessly, I lunged towards the food, swiping every single piece of data I could find. If others tried to get in my way, I threatened to claw them harshly. Most took the hint, but some simply didn't care.
Needless to say, I ate and ate, feeling my body grow stronger as my form started to change. Soon, I had become a Lost, a dark shade of my former soul.
Compared to the others who had also consumed the evil data, I was the largest of the them all, and they came to follow me as king. I basked in the glory of all of this new power, howling out our cries for revenge. And we would have it, upon all of Cyberspace!
Unfortunately, just as our conquest seemed to be going well, the sorceress that had befriended us all, back when we were weak, stood opposed to us, and sealed us away, ruining our quest for vengeance.
To this day, I have still not forgotten her treachery, and waited patiently for the moment where our kind would rise again. Today, that time has come.
With Matt, as the Phoenix, flying by our side, it wouldn't be long until all of Cyberspace would be consumed.
