The sun light reflected off the many windows of the mansion Kid had managed to 'rent'. The city they had been transported to was packed with civilians that were hurrying to work and school. The sounds of car horns and trains filled the clear skies but it didn't wake up the heavy sleeper. Soul was known to sleep through anything, even a world war happening right out his house wouldn't interrupt his dreams. He only sighed contently as a greeting to the morning light brightening his room.

After their transportation to the unknown world that was almost like their own and going to the mansion, they were immediately off to be with a summary of what their jobs were. Naturally, when a wizard or witch reaches unfamiliar land, they are taught not to show off their magic, in case of an enemy. Another is being wary of their surroundings and foreigners. They did this to ensure the safety of their kind. This meant that gaining magic from this world wasn't going to be easy because of the living beings walking around. They didn't want to be caught holding out their wands and causing suspicion.

The door to Soul's room was knocked and a figure hopped onto his bed.

" Soul, wake up!" Maka exclaimed crouched while shaking the male awake. The reason why is because every bed in the house was a designer's. Meaning that their beds were the kinds that had a high roof and silk curtains to cover each side. The house was very luxurious and it was a miracle Kid had stole it

" ...I'm up. Get off."

" No you're not, I can see that you're about to fall asleep again, liar. Come on, we have to leave and start. Collecting. Energy." She punctuated while trying to pull Soul out of bed by his arm.

" Honestly..."

" Let's go."

Maka was easily and always the first up and had the natural yet tough job of getting Soul out of bed. It was truly miraculous that Soul was still defiant toward her actions. Only he would end up complying in the end because Maka wasn't the to give up so easily.

Magicing clothes and other necessities out of thin air, both were freshened up and down stairs, where they met Kid. All three didn't mind using magic for simple tasks, just as long as they weren't caught in this world.

" What are you two wearing?" Kid asked them with an incredulous look. Maka and Soul blinked and scanned each other. They couldn't see anything wrong with their clothes.

" What? What is it?" Soul asked after they couldn't figure out what Kid was implying. The raven-hair teen pointed at them with a disapproving look, making them both sweat.

" Leather pants, Soul? Goth Lolita dress, Maka? Black boots? Gloves? Get your minds together!"

" Wha-?"

" You can't wear something like that out in public. We must blend in or else we could raise suspicions!" Using his wand to control a feather-duster, Soul and Maka were forced back upstairs and came back down minutes later in a ' much more approving outfit.'

" I see that we are all ready, that's good. We should start heading out then." Kid said with a pleased look as if he wasn't beating them with a cleaning product earlier.

When the three teens walked out, Kid lead them down the sidewalk and began to explain some things as if he was a tourist guide.

" Right here, we are in the city of (1)Ohkubo, based on some pamphlets I managed to come across. As you can see, it is a bit populated so be careful not to let anything unusual slip. I would advise you to stay away and try not to 'befriend' these beings. I understand it is a common rule enforced in Sukeruton but I like to take cautious steps. We aren't here to make compromises but to collect as much magic as possible. Apparently, there is only so much here and not father within this island."

" About that, how are we supposed to collect magic? As far as I've heard, I don't think it's a very common spell..." Maka said as they walked into a slightly deserted park.

" It's a really simple task, I'll show you." Kid stopped and they were standing in front of a bush.

" Why are we..?" Soul asked with a shared confused expression with Maka. The son of Death pulled out his wand and pointed it directly at the bush.

" Watch closely. Doraggū." Suddenly, their mouths opened in awe as a bright blue light surrounded the bush and the blue haze was slowly being drawn and sucked into the tip of the wizard's wand. After the very last of it was consumed, Kid turned around halfway and could have laughed at the baffled expressions of the two minors." It's nothing difficult really. Just a bit of concentration and pronouncing the spell right."

" But how can we tell where the Kabē or Enerugī is stored? We can't exactly whip out our wands and start yelling randomly at a trash can."

" By looking of course."

Blinks.

" What I meant to say is, using your inner eye." Kid restated, pointing at his own yellow and orange eyes." Think of it as your sixth sense. As you walk around you'll start to feel a sensation running through your body, and it gets stronger as you follow the feeling."

" That sounds... kind of scary actually." Maka said with a small shudder.

" It really isn't. You won't mind it much after getting a bit used to it. As I was saying, when you get close enough and if you focus enough, you'll either see a green or blue covered object. That would indicate that the object contains sources that you can pick up, with your wand of course."

" But where do we store all the energy? Our wands have a limit." Kid thought for a moment before blinking and made two lockets appear in the air with each one falling into Soul and Maka's hands.

" You will use these. They're made to hold a high number of magic in it so you can start storing them in there. If I find a way to contact Father, we could send these every time we have a considerable amount. With only the three of us, there is only so much we could do time-wise."

Maka had a locket that was shaped in an emerald-green octagon with a silver string while Soul had a ruby-red diamond shape with a golden string. The two placed it around their necks.

" I say we should get started then."

When he continued to receive blank stares, Kid sweated." Um... I guess I could show you another demonstration."

'Another' turned into three and it was an hour before the two finally got it.

" Oh, now I get it! Let's go gather some magic!" Maka said happily and a dead-panned Kid said he was going back home to study more into the environment. Soul couldn't blame him and sighed when they had ended up a harbor. There weren't much people around, just beings that looked around their age in uniforms rushing to a large white building a few streets ahead.

" It must be a gathering. Why else are they heading to that building with uniforms?" Maka said with a suspicious look. The distant sound of a bell being rung was put into the back of their minds.

" You really need to stop thinking everyone is evil."

" But remember what Kid said? We can't be familiar with these beings we need to take cautious steps. You know there are some people out to kill wizards and witches."

" That's in our world. And we haven't been here long enough to make enemies."

" And let's keep it at that. We all know you have a strange tendency to befriend outsiders." Soul shrugged, knowing what she said was true. Soul was slightly famous for befriending especially dragons and mystical creatures that are known to kill. Nobody knew his secret and strangely enough, Soul didn't know how he does it either. Just one piercing look from him and the creature is bowing at his feet as if he was some great king or something.

" I'm not too keen on talking to these beings. Besides, every time we always go on a mission, it seems as though everyone wants to kill us."

" True, but it looks like these people don't mind us in their land. In fact, it looks as though we aren't being noticed. I guess they really don't have an ounce of magic in them since wizards can sense each other. Still, I don't wanna be too relaxed around them. Let's try looking around for more Kabē and Enerugī. You cover this area and I'll cover the other side."

" Bossy much?"

" Shut up and do as your partner says."

When she ran to the other side of the large deck that had small dining tables and chairs huddled in different spots(kind of like an outside café), he began walking across the rails that guarded the splashing large body of water. His ruby eyes laid transfixed and he stopped at the sight of the raging waves that shortened when it reached the decks. Sukeruton didn't have large bodies of water, just rainbow colored lakes and ponds. The reflected blue color of the water really could make one wizard and witch stare in amazement. Such strange beings living in a magnificent territory, why didn't his world look like this?

After a few more minutes, or even an hour, the male had finally remembered what he was supposed to be doing.

Soul looked down and stared before a sudden tingling sensation hit him. This must have been the feeling Kid was speaking about. He starting walking across the rails, the feelings gradually getting stronger and the white-haired teen concentrated his vision. He was surprised to find his surroundings black with white outlines of everything. Fortunately, a green aura surrounded a particular large crowd of tall flowers huddled in the water, a few feet under him. Soul blinked out of the negative-colored view and leaned on the rail with a slightly dreaded look.

" Do I really have to go down there for it? Seems a bit dangerous..." He contemplated on whether he should get Maka to do it for him but he really didn't want her to think he was some wuss. If Soul looked more closely, he could see that the roots were stretched far down in the water and most likely connecting to something so using a lifting spell was out of the question. Sure the flowers were barely in his reach, including his wand, but he didn't feel like getting sopping wet if an accident ever happened.

" Oh jeez... risk-taker am I?" He muttered to himself in clenched, fanged-teeth. In the end, after staring regretfully at his locket that had yet to be useful, he leaned down more slightly. It was okay for him have his wand out because people behind him wouldn't see in front of the railings. However, he knew that it was a matter of time before someone would think something is wrong.

He leaned down further and blinked when a fish swam towards the flowers and began pecking at the moss that held the plants together. Of course the little life-form had to make things harder. It was still interesting to see the fish eating. Sukeruton had fish five-times this size so seeing the monstrous animals look as though it could barely reach the size of an out-stretched hand was a little settling, and pleasing.

Soul didn't know how long he was distracted by fishes one-by-one coming up to eat until it was a buffet, when the distant sound of a bell rang nearly made him slip. Right! Now wasn't the time to easily fall into his habit of spacing-out, something that Maka thought was a no-go. He would have to agree since the simple task of gathering Kabū from the flower wasn't completed yet. But Ohkubo is such a nice place...

And suddenly, everything was happening as if in a blur. He had lost the steady grip on the rail and was about to face first into the deep body of water. However, the feelings of arms wrapping around his body was noticed just as he was brought back against a figure, or someone as a matter of fact.

It was a second before Soul felt the person lean his head down without letting go, as though he would fall again.

" ... Are you okay?" A voice spoke in his pointed ear. With slightly reddened cheeks, Soul turned around fast to look at the being who saved him.

It wasn't Maka, that's for sure.

Instead, it was slightly taller teenager with spiky blue hair and blue, concerned eyes. Soul's face instantly turned red and he could only form incoherent words. Never, had he ever seen someone so hot, not even in his world. But it could not be possible for him to like a foreign being. That's a forbidden, taboo thing that no wizard or witch should and will do. It was like a second nature for opposites to hate each other.

However this one...

" I-I'm fine..." Soul finally spoke and hid his hand behind his back which contained his wand," Thanks though."

You shouldn't be too familiar with these beings!

Soul became more aware that this person was eyeing him at which he realized that he must have arose suspicions. He knew he needed to get out of this situation right now. No matter how good looking this person is...

" I... I should go no-"

" What were you doing?" The other spoke a bit too boldly for Soul's liking, especially since they were strangers. The wizard hurriedly glanced around to see not a lot of people walking around, and Maka wasn't in sight. Damn, his redness wouldn't go away and the constant fluttering in his heart was really starting to irritate him.

" N-nothing!- s-suspicious at all of course..." The person eyed him even more with a blank stare and Soul was beginning to feel uneasy. What was he going to do now? He must have been caught red-handed and the person decided to help him to investigate more probably. The person tilted his head and pointed.

" Your ears. They're all... pointy and stuff."

Ack!

" O-Oh, are they?" Soul said, trying too hard not to just run away.

" Yeah. And you literally have fangs." Soul parted his lips ion confusion but quickly pursed them, realizing that maybe he was starting to become too obvious without noticing. Why is it that when his features are being pointed out, butterflies would swirl in his stomach? Something must definitely be wrong with him.

" You... are you a foreigner?" Soul blinked and was about to say no but mentally punched himself.

" Huh? O-Oh right! I am..." He lied. The wizard couldn't risk having his true identity revealed yet.

" Huh. Where you from?"

Stop trying to have a conversation with me!

" O-Oh you know..." Soul trailed off, desperately looking around for a place instead of Sukeruton. That's when he spotted a ship that said ' S.S. Australia.'" A-Austria..?"

" Australia?"

" Yeah that..."

" Soul!?" The said teen looked around and almost cried tears of joy to find Maka calling out to him. Luckily, he was saved before further questions could be asked.

" Well, I have to go then. Bye!"

And I'll never see you again!

" Soul! You-!" The said male made sure to bring Maka into his room and shut the door before Kid could overhear.

" Shut up, will you? It was an accident."

" But you talked to the being. You know we are not allowed to do that."

" He saved me from drowning, I had to be polite."

" But you talked Soul. Chatted as a matter of fact. If we get discovered one day-"

" It won't happen. Seriously, it was just that one time. Nothing else is going to happen between us ever again. Hell, we might not even see each other again." Maka had a studying look but sighed in the end with her hands on her hips.

" Alright, alright. I'll hold you to that. It would be a shame if Kid found out though..." She added with a sly look, indicating for Soul that he was for sure going to be black-mailed.

Curses.

Soul was still confused on why his heart was pounding as if he had just ran miles. His heart fluttered at the very thought of his savior but he didn't know what this strange feeling meant. All he knew was that it immediately makes him flustered and want to punch his gut to stop all the damn butterflies swirling inside. Why couldn't he get the husky voice out of his head? Why couldn't he forget the feeling of strong arms wrapping around his body? Why couldn't he stop remembering being pressed against the firm chest of that mysterious blue-haired male?

What was going on with him?
