Soul fidgeted in his seat with his hands in between his legs. His eyes looked anywhere but at Black Star, who was happily explaining about 'school'. He was really done for it. He really believed that Maka or Kid is going to kill him if they find out that Black Star had managed to drag him into a date. Er... not a date exactly but he wished...

" I really have to go." Soul hinted but the other male didn't pay that any mind.

" I can't believe you never went to school! How did you learn to talk?" After seeing that he wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon, Soul looked up in thought.

" I wasn't really taught. More like... I already knew how to." Black Star stared at Soul in awe.

" Woah, you mean you could talk before you were even born?" The white-haired male sweated.

" Well not before but I remember talking as a baby. It's not really odd. Everyone in my race does it." He ended with a shrug. He didn't think he was saying too much. Besides, even if he was, he knew this guy wouldn't go blabbing off to the first person he sees. He just had the weird feeling that he could automatically trust him.

" Wow. Your race has to have super powers or something to do that!" Soul gave a nervous laugh.

" Y-yeah... powers."

" That's weird though. You not going to school and all. Doesn't it get boring just walking around?" Soul looked down with a shrug again. He couldn't exactly say that he has a job of exterminating all magical substances in this world to return to his world. But listening to Maka's nagging everyday does get a bit tiresome.

" I guess. But I'll just have to deal with it." He responded. The blue-haired teen stared at the other male before grinning.

" Dude, you should come to my school!"

" What?"

Black Star leaned forward.

" I said you should come to school for once. Then, we'd have more time to hand out together." Ignoring the heated blush creeping on his face, Soul processed what was said.

Hang out together.

Oh, the fluttering of his heart.

" Um... th-that would be nice, w-wouldn't it?" Soul responded with the familiar stutter when ever he gets flustered." And more time to... to... to..." As he continued to repeat this word, Black Star just blinked. Of course he is oblivious to the fact that he is the one that causes the wizard to act that way. After a while, Soul seemed to have caught himself and blushed even more at that matter." Ah! S-sorry. I must be weirding you out."

" ... No, it's fine."

" I don't believe you." Soul simply said and watched his 'friend' smile.

" It only makes me like you more." The wizard's eyes widened and once again, incoherent words left his mouth, trying to make out something but couldn't with his jumbled mind. Why is he getting so worked up over a friendly statement? Black Star is just being nice, that is all. But what if he meant it in a deeper way..?

" Soul? Dude, your face is red." Soul stood abruptly. He couldn't take the heat anymore.

" A-Ah, that's because I'm sick!" He lied while moving away from the table.

Sick of you turning me into this!

Just as Black Star stood as well with a confused look, Soul had already opened the door to leave. However, his mouth dropped at the sight before him.

It is raining pretty damn hard outside.

Which means he could really get sick if he stands in it.

Which means he would have an excuse to stay away from him.

Just as Soul was about to take a step out for the rain to do its duty, Black Star held onto his forearm, and the warmness on his face slowly came back. Why couldn't he just keep a straight face for once?

" You're not serious about walking out there are you?" Soul looked up and was about to say yes but the concerned look he was given made him reconsider.

" W-Well... I can't be here long. M-my parents..." Damn, he hated lying. It was quite before Soul felt a clothing article plop on his top of head. It immediately covered his vision and an arm weighed around his shoulders.

Please let whatever this is cover my face.

" I'll walk you then. You're my responsibility from now on."

" W-W-Wha-?"

Please stop saying things like that!

His burning face and beating heart were bound to explode any minute now. The two headed out and Soul started to feel the rain patter on him and he raised both hands to lift the clothing off his eyes. His lips quivered as the sound of his blood rushing began to fill his ears in a pounding sensation. This could not be happening. He really does like Black Star. But how? It has only been a day, not even a witch or wizard has caught his eye. Why does this being fill his every thoughts and dreams instead?

" You... You're getting wet." He pointed out after noticing that the teen was only in a dress shirt. His eyes stared occupied at the now drenched shirt that slowly became transparent. God, those abs look like you could grind meat on them-

" I'm used to it," Soul barely registered the other talking and quickly looked back up reluctantly," our coach for P.E. doesn't give a crap about the weather. There could be hurricane and he'd still give us 10 laps."

Soul laughed at the distress for the kids that go to school. Man, is he lucky to be a wizard instead of a...

" What are you guys?" He asked. Black Star blinked.

" What?"

" I-I mean... You know... species." He received an incredulous look.

" Human?"

" Oh is that so?" Soul mentally made sure to remember that and he looked up before he could be questioned." Well, it looks like we're pretty close. I can walk from here." He added. He did not feel the need to be countered by Kid about letting a 'human' walk him.

" Nope. You're not shaking me off that easily." The teen stated with a teasing grin. Soul's obvious reaction is even more blushing.

" B-but you c-can't-"

" I can and I will. Safety first."

" I'm older than you!"

" Really? How old are you?" Soul tensed even though they were still walking and he sweated with a dead-panned look. Uh-oh. After a bit of unwanted studying with Maka last night, Soul had grew fond to know of the human ages. Meaning that if he goes on about being 112 years old, he would be mistaken for a pedophile. However, after his partner's calculating of their age and the human age, it was shown that 112 years equals to 15.39 human years. Which means...

" I'm fifteen." He answered and frowned when he was laughed at. " What's so funny?"

" That you think you're older than me. Close but no. I'm 16."

" B-But... I was still close dammit! You look 12 as a matter of fact." Black Star laughed at the insult and Soul couldn't help the smile creeping on his lips. There is only a year difference in human age terms.

Meaning that we're neither too young or too old to... to... to...

The two reached Soul's house(mansion) and walked up the stairs to let the roof, held by pillars, shelter them from the rain. The arm around Soul's shoulder had left and the teen felt as though familiar warmth had disappeared from his body. Had he gone that attached to Black Star?

" I guess this is where we stop." Soul pointed out. He didn't want Black Star to leave him but even them making so much as eye contact is forbidden. How could he be wishing to spend more time with him if he already is breaking at least 50 rules being with him? Maka is right that he goes around befriending anyone with no thoughts about the consequences.

" Sure about that?" The wizard raised his eyebrows at what he was getting at.

" What do you mean?" It looked as though the teen was going to say something but a sly look had replaced it.

" You'll see. Just enjoy the full moon outside tonight, okay?"

" Huh?" But Black Star had already left and Soul watched him go. He was still confused on the statement. Enjoy the full moon? What did that have to do with earlier?

As he speculated on it, it took minutes for Soul to realize that he was still standing outside and had Black Star's jacket. He quickly seized the clothing article off his head and held it in his hands. He stared at it before lifting it up to rest his head on sideways. The scent of his admired... the smooth fabric... the warm clothing...

Soul didn't notice himself nuzzling the jacket on his cheek when the door swung open so suddenly that he let out an unforgivable squeak.

" Soul? You've been standing here for nearly half an hour. You do realize you live here, right?" Kid said with a raised eyebrow. He was even more suspicious when Soul hid something behind his back.

" Oh um... I've just been thinking... about stuff." He said and walked in, not wanting Kid to see his flushed and slightly hazy look. Yes, he is fully aware of himself acting like some love-struck teenage girl.

" Really? Thinking about what?" Oh no, the question game. One of Kid's specialty is always making the truth come out of your mouth when you least expect it. He learned this the hard way when the raven-haired male asked who went in through his drawers and stole the playboys as a joke. Soul slowly lead himself upstairs with a reassuring look.

" N-nothing important. Just go back to your... researching."

With great speed, the bedroom door was shut, locked, and the bed bounced with a figure on top. Soul stared at the roof of his bed before giving a great sigh and dropped Black Star's jacket on his face. His heart was racing a million miles as his thoughts filled with the blue-haired teen who had caught his heart. It seems as though everyday he was falling deeper in love with him. It shouldn't be happening yet he couldn't it help it.

His situation is getting worse.

It was around five in the evening when Maka finally returned with a flushed angry look. Her first word when she stepped one foot inside was:

"Sooooouuul!"

It is not his fault that Black Star has a way of steadily making him forget about everything. The wizard is always trying to avoid him but he ends up getting dragged by the other. Therefor he has a legitimate excuse. Still, who wouldn't be terrified? He could literally feel her dark aura roam the house as she searched for him.

Good thing an hour before her entrance he learned a good locking charm on his door to ensure his safety.

As expected, the knob on his door was angrily tried.

" Soul Eater Evans! You get out here right now before I bust it down along with your corpse!"

Threats like these are why you will forever remain single.

After a few minutes, or hours, Soul couldn't tell, Maka finally gave up on trying to destroy his room to advance on him. He has a slight inkling that she would come in the middle of the night to strangle him when his guard is down. Still, it was settling to find that he had survived Maka's wrath.

Another hour passed and Soul finally looked at the clock from his book he was currently reading. It was already eight at night and he had not even noticed. He already ate dinner and showered when Maka was busy with Kid. They still couldn't find a way to talk to Lords Death but progress makes perfect. Is that saying correct?

Anyways, that full moon did look nice outside. Maybe he could go out on the balcony for a bit.

Soul sat up and placed his book on the nightstand to leave. When he opened one of the glass doors, a cool breeze came in but he didn't mind. The spectacular view in the skies is what had his attention.

As he leaned on the rails, he looked up at the twinkling stars and the dark blue sky. The moon doesn't have a face like in Sukeruton but it does look nice without the crazy grin in the sky for once. A content smile came on his face. Everything looked so tranquil and care-free, unlike the wizard world. Nighttime is truly when all the wizards are up and about while the children are in bed. But here, humans go home and few are out but rushing home. Soul really could not find anything wrong with them.

He gave a content sigh as he rested his head on his arms. Too bad in a few months he would be leaving, away from here, away from Black Star forever. It would take him years to master a Portal spell but everyone around Black Star's age would be around their forties by then. Jeez, what a crisis.

" Still, it looks nice outside." He mumbled to himself.

" Sure does."

" Mm..." It took seconds for Soul to realize that he isn't in fact, talking to himself and that there is indeed, a human life form right next to him. " Who-!?"

" Hey, Soul." Black Star greeted casually and inched closer on the rail. Soul froze in shock and his mind was slowly registering that he was not alone.

" How did you get up here!?"

" I-"

" Never mind that! You shouldn't be up here!" Soul complained and glanced at his room. He is meeting Black Star twice! Whyyy!?

He looked back and had a double-take at the stern look he was getting. What did he say wrong?

" Soul," Black Star began while walking closer and the said male leaned back, feeling the familiar heat reach his cheeks. How many times has he blushed today? What a record." Do you want to hang out with me?"

" Wha-? Wh-What makes you say that?" He managed to get out. Of course he wanted to hang out with Black Star! He wouldn't mind being on his side forever...

" But you're always saying that you can't. I always feel like you are trying to avoid me." Soul felt guilty now.

" I-I never meant it like that... I do like hanging out with you and all..." As Soul said this, he felt himself becoming even more red and fidgety," You're the reason why I look forward to my days. N-Not in a romantic way or anything-" He hastily added. He finally looked up from the floor and felt his heart flutter when Black Star beamed.

" Really? That's great! Most people say that I torture them." Soul smiled exasperatedly.

" They have a point."

" Hey..."

As the night went on and their talking, Soul finally decided that he should head back in. Maka was bound to check on him soon.

" We'll see each other tomorrow, right?" Soul remembered his promise but nodded. There is no reason to be distant with people who don't have bad intentions. There is no arguing against that.

" We will. Oh, I forgot..." Soul went in and came back out in seconds with Black Star's jacket." You left this."

Black Star cocked his head.

" Keep it."

" Huh?"

" Keep it. You seem more attached to it than I am." Soul flushed but scowled. Despite what he said is true, he still didn't like the fact that his mind had unknowingly admitted to it. So what if he snuggled it? Or took deep breaths of it? Or talks to it as if it really was Black Star? He bet any other person does that. Right?

" I'm not attached! Just take it, you'll need it tomorrow." He stated while holding the jacket out more. Black Star reached out and grabbed it, but instead of taking it, he leaned closer at the already flustered male.

" I have more than one you know, keep it."

" Idiot! Just take the damn thing already."

" Nope, it's yours now. Make sure to take good care of it."

Soul wanted to call Black Star out of his name but the thought of keeping his jacket altered his words a bit. He now contained Black Star's jacket. It was his now. All his. He could hold against him whenever he felt like it. This truly was heaven.

" You- I- don't- th-thanks..." He ended in a questioning sound and was sure the moonlight was showing off his beet face. Black Star chuckled and patted the wizard's head. At this moment, steam should just float atop now the snow mane. Soul's mind was malfunctioning a bit.

" Looks like I always win huh?"

" Leave already!" Soul finally exclaimed, wanting to hide in a very deep hole right now.

" Alright alright. I'll go now." Black Star went to leave but stopped and turned back around.

" Oh and Soul..." The said male looked at him expectantly," ... stay cute."

" Wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-!?" Soul wanted to yell for Black Star to get back but he was already gone, the distant sound of his laughing still continued." Th-that... b-bastard..."
