Yeah, I take ages to update, and as a result, am a horrible human being, I'm sorry TT^TT please forgive me, oh fellow readers of fanfiction! Um, yeah, I feel like that was a line that belonged in a soap opera XD But anyways, I am honestly really sorry, thanks so much for reading my story, and for all of your guys' support. "Well. I have a very important mission for y'all. You guys are getting transferred to another school for however long it takes for you to complete the mission! The mission is just establish good ties with the school, as we don't know them that well...or at all...but yeah! So don't make enemies! You guys leave next week! Dismissed." My jaw dropped open. Going to...another school? Huh? This...couldn't be real. He would have given us more than a week's notice if it were true. Then again...this was Lord Death we were talking about...As always, Black Star was the first to break the silence.

"What?! No way! You can't send a god like me away!" Lord Death replied in a chirpy voice.

"Too bad Black Star; I am."

Maka POV

It was the day before me and the others were to go to the other school on a mission. The past week had rushed by a bit too fast for my liking; I had tried to memorize every inch of DWMA and it's people. It wasn't like I wasn't used to leaving, it was just that we might be gone for so long, and I didn't know when I would be able to see this place again. We were due to report to Lord Death's office tomorrow at 5.30am sharp. I sighed as I contemplated how hard it would be to get Soul out of bed that early.

"Maka!" I turned in surprise to find Black Star rushing towards me cheerfully.

"Hey Black Star." He grinned then picked me up around the waist and swung me in circles like I weighed nothing. I was caught off guard so much so that I didn't even protest until he set me on the ground.

"H-hey! What did you do that for!" I was still a little shocked that he'd done it, and I could feel myself blushing.

"This god was just happy to see you!" I couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm. "What're you doing here anyway?"

"Just taking a walk." I replied.

"Great! Let's go get lunch together! I'll even pay! That's pretty special, having a god treat you, ya know." In spite of his egotistical words, his smile was soft and sincere, yet still impossibly wide.

"But, I-"

"Sweet! Where do you want to eat? Let's go to Jesters!" He grabbed my hand and began to walk away, towing me along.

"Wait, Black Star!"

"Hm?" He glanced at me over his shoulder, barely even breaking stride.

"I- Oh, never mind." Deciding to just go with him, I quickened my pace so that we were walking side by side, and glanced at him from the corner of my eyes. His grip had tightened ever-so-slightly when I walked by his side. To my surprise, he was blushing. Black Star? Blushing? That was...new. Smiling, I dropped my gaze.

Black Star POV

I began to pull Maka along, grinning to myself. A date with Maka! Yahoo! "Wait, Black Star!" Of course, she probably wasn't even aware that I considered this chance meeting to have turned into a date. I glanced at her over my shoulder.

"Hm?"

"I- Oh, never mind." I could tell that she had been about to say she was busy or something, and needed to go, but she didn't. She decided to spend time with me. I felt my face grow warm at the thought, and even more so when she matched my pace to walk beside me. Subconsciously, I tightened my grip around her hand, then inwardly winced and hoped she didn't notice.

We finally reached Jesters, the famous pie shop, and I asked her which one she wanted. She eyed them for awhile, before finally deciding on a butter chicken one. I got a steak one...or two...ok, four. They were really good. When we were done, we walked to a park and sat on a bench for awhile. "MAKA! MY DARLING, HOW ARE- WAIT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE ALONE WITH A BOY? I SWEAR, BLUE-HAIR, IF YOU LAY A HAND ON HER I'LL-" A familiar man appeared, and I vaguely recognized him as Maka's father.

"You shouldn't yell at a god like me! And we're on a date!" I shot back, standing up and stabbing a finger at him.

"Papa," Maka groaned. "Why are you here?"

"I'm looking for ladi- eheh, something. WHY ARE YOU ON A DATE? YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND? WHY DID YOU NEVER TELL ME? BREAK UP!" Maka groaned in annoyance.

"This is why I never tell you anything! I knew you would react like this! You can't expect me to break up with him! He's my boyfriend, not yours!" She grabbed my hand and began to walk away. I heard her father calling out behind us.

"Maka! So cold to your papa! I love you!" He sounded so melodramatic, that I actually turned to look at him. But when I did, I was surprised at what I was. True sadness. Before I could stop myself, I opened my mouth.

"Oi! Stop being so worried; a god like me would never let Maka get hurt!" He smiled, and I turned back to Maka. We walked in silence from there all the way to her house, where she dropped onto the couch and let out a frustrated sigh. "Hey, Maka?" She looked at me, eyebrows raised in question, and I continued. "I'm a god, hahaha! But, actually...I'm your boyfriend too. Why do you hate your dad so much?" I wondered if I was prying too much, suddenly unsure of myself- which was very rare for me.

"He always acts so clingy and annoying, like I'm not my own person. Like I'm not allowed to live my life because I might get a couple of bruises or something. But also...he always claims that he loves Mama, and misses her, but it's such a lie! He's always fooling around with other women! That idiot...he doesn't care about Mama at all!" Angry tears began to roll down her cheeks, and even though her words were harsh, I could tell that she was really hurting about this. Her parents' separation had caused real pain. Almost instinctively, I reached out and wrapped my arms around her. After a moment of stiffness, she relaxed into my hug and began to cry harder. I wanted to open my mouth and speak, anything to break this silence that was only filled by her sobs, but knew better. Maka needed comfort. So I would be here for her.
