HOUR 8
MIAMI CRIME LAB
Tim was sitting with Jasmine in the break room. Horatio Eric Ryan and Frank were sitting around the table playing cards. Alex and Calleigh were in the morgue collecting supplies Alex might need. Jasmine was resting between contractions. She tensed up. "Contraction?" Eric asked from the table.
"No Eric she moaned cause she knows you're losing." Tim said sarcastically.
Jasmine turned on her side looking at the table. "Where's the girls?" She asked quietly.
"They went to get some supplies. Alex wants to check you." Tim said running his hand through her hair.
Ryan got up to get something out of the fridge. "Hey girlie. How you feeling?" Ryan asked.
"Achy. I wanna get up and sit with the guys dad." Jasmine said.
"Alright." Tim said.
"Hey fellas make room. Jasmine is gonna join us for a few minutes." Ryan said.
"Cool. She can help me." Eric said.
Ryan and Jasmine rolled their eyes at him. "I'll help Frank and Horatio wipe the floor with you Eric." Jasmine said letting Tim and Ryan pull her up. "Oh that is getting harder." She said trying to rub her aching back.
"Back still sore?" Tim said.
"Only ten times worse. I think this little one dropped a little." Jasmine said.
"Hey Eric? Do you still have those tennis balls in your Gym bag?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah. Why?" Eric asked.
"Cause I heard that when a woman is going through labor it helps relieve the back aches." Ryan said helping Jasmine ease down onto the chair beside Horatio.
Eric handed Ryan the tennis balls. "Thanks Babe. Jasmine want your dad to do this?" Ryan asked.
"Please." Jasmine said.
Tim took the tennis balls and started rubbing Jasmine's back with them. "Ok deal us in Eric." Horatio said.
DANNY & JASMINE'S HOUSE
Danny had finally calmed down and went to the bed and sat down. He picked up his cell phone and dialed the lab phone. "Miami Crime Lab. How may I help you?" The receptionist said.
"Is there anyway I can speak to Tim Speedle or Horatio Caine?" Danny asked.
"Sure. May I ask who is calling?" She asked.
'Daniel Wholesome. I am their Son In Law." He said.
"Hold on." She said putting him on hold. While he was on the phone he started looking for some jeans and a shirt to wear.
CRIME LAB
The fellas were in the middle of their game when the intercom went off. "Phone call for Lt Caine or Tim Speedle on line 5." The receptionist said.
"I'll get it. Jasmine you play my hand." Horatio said. getting up
"K." She said. Horatio got the phone.
"This is Lt Caine." He said.
"Horatio it's Danny. Mom told me about Jasmine. Please tell me I am not too late." Danny said.
"Daniel you need to calm down.." Horatio said causing everyone to look up.
"But she is in labor and I AM NOT THERE." Danny yelled the last.
"Yes we are aware of that. Now she is only 8 centimeters. She is fine Danny." Horatio said.
"I need to be there." Danny said.
Jasmine had gotten up and waddled over to Horatio. "Let me talk to him." She said quietly. Horatio handed her the phone. "Danny?" She said.
"Jas? I am so so sorry." He said.
"Danny listen to me. Calm down. You aren't doing me or anyone any good freaking out." Jasmine said closing her eyes feeling a contraction coming on.
"I should have listened to you." Danny said.
Jasmine smirked. "It took me going into labor for you to figure that out?" Jasmine said.
"I wanna come and be with you." Danny said softly.
"Danny you can't. I wish you could. But the roads are horrible. And it would be our luck you'd get in an accident." Jasmine said rubbing her stomach.
"What do we do?" Danny asked.
"Someone will call you when it's show time. Until then just enjoy the quiet." Jasmine said smirking.
Alex came over motioned for her to be checked. "Listen babe. Alex wants to check me again." Jasmine said.
"Least you have her there. I love you so much." Danny said.
"I love you too. No we both love you. " Jasmine said smiling and hanging up.
After she hung up she started sobbing. "Oh baby girl." Alex said hugging her. Calleigh came over and wrapped her arms around her.
"I know I am selfish. But I want him here." Jasmine said.
"No honey you are not selfish. I wanted Pete there when I had our two." Alex said.
"My ex wife wanted me there when she had our girls." Frank said.
Jasmine got herself under control. "Alright let's get the fun part over with." Jasmine said. They helped her back to the couch and Alex checked her.
"You're doing good. Another couple hours." Alex said. Jasmine nodded and sighed.
WHOLESOME HOUSE
Danny hung up the phone and walked out into the hall. He walked down the hall to the nursery. He walked in and sat in the rocking chair. Maria came and knocked on the doorframe. He looked up smiled with a watery eyes. "How is she?" She asked coming and sitting on the window sill in front of him.
"She is doing good." Danny said. "She must've calmed you down. You're not as upset." Maria said. Danny laughed.
"She always does. She's always been my calming device. Even when we were just friends." Danny said.
"She is an amazing person." Maria said.
"She told me she would have someone call me when it's show time." Danny said.
"That is good." She said patting his knee.
"I am sorry for going off." Danny said.
"No need. Patrick needs to learn to keep quiet sometimes. " Maria said smiling.
"He was just saying what he felt. It was my mistake for not listening to my wife." Danny said.
"Well we all have our moments." Maria said.
"Yeah. Let's go and check on Patrick." Danny said getting up.
