A/N: I'm back and I am officially finished school until I go to Uni in September so I will hopefully be posting much more. I also got this amazing message the other week inspiring me to keep going so this chapter is really dedicated to them. Thank you. Anyway I hope you enjoy. (For Anyone following Secret of the Demons I will be updating it soon)
Las Noches
Ulquiorra was pacing his room. She should have been here by. Why wasn't she here? He could feel himself becoming angered as the time continued to pass. There were times in his life when he had felt satisfied with how it was going but right now was not one of them. He had begun to crave her presence. Crave her familiarity yet cluelessness. She was his everything and he needed her to be around him more and more each day. Sighing he continued to pace.
A knock on his door had his head whipping around and he quickly tried to compose himself. Taking a quick check in the mirror he then faced the door.
"Enter," he says calmly. Instead of the red head he was expecting Grimmjow appeared and a frightened Nelliel behind him. He frowned. "Where is she?"
"She…er…well funny thing actually," Grimmjow begins.
"Where. Is. She?" Ulquiorra asks again.
"She's not coming," Grimmjow says looking down at the ground.
"I'm sorry?" Ulquiorra replies and despite the calm tone his eyes were seething in rage.
"She…isn't coming." He mutters in reply. Before Grimmjow could reply Ulquiorra had stormed out the room. There was so much anger flowing through his body. How dare she refuse his request of her presence? What happened to the trust he had gained the day before? He was sure he had gained it. He was angry…no furious might be better. He walks down the corridor using long strides before throwing her doors open.
She didn't flinch, despite the loud echo of the door from when it hit the wall. She stared at him unafraid and he sees a new determination settle in her eyes.
"I have requested your company Miss Inoue." He grits out trying to remain calm and collected in her presence. She stares at him and it is apparent that she is not convinced.
"I declined." She states in a rather matter of fact manner, however the slight tremble in her voice does not go unnoticed by him. If he wasn't trying to reign in the anger that has begun to bubble and rise within him he would have been pleased that she was not as strong as she appeared. Took pleasure in the fear, but right now there was nothing but pure hot rage.
He growled loudly his voice bouncing off the walls.
"When I request your presence or company I expect you to comply." He says, his voice barely under control. Orihime watches him carefully, she can feel her body shaking gently but will not let him see her resolve falter. He was angry, the best inside threatening to burst free and harm her. She had witnessed first-hand just what he could do, saw the beast he really was.
"I was led to believe what we do in our life is a free choice." She replies. His eyes turn to slits as he glares at her. He snarls at her taking a step forward.
"Easy now Ulquiorra." Grimmjow says stepping forward slowly. He takes cautious steps towards the snarling demon king.
"Grimmjow." Nelliel whispers quietly. She was fearful for her mate, after witnessing first-hand the destruction Ulquiorra can perform. She knew that when in a mood very little could calm him down, including Orihime's influence. Biting her lip Nelliel watches, calculating every move and the best way to intercept anything with causing minimal damage.
Grimmjow steps forward again before gingerly and carefully placing his left arm onto Ulquiorra's shoulder. Before the trio can blink Ulquiorra moves, pulling the arm right off and throwing it across the room. It passes Orihime and she feels some of the blood hit her face. Whimpering she takes a step back. In a flash Nelliel is in front of Grimmjow pulling him away from the roaring beast.
Grimmjow appears to be in a state of shock and merely stares unable to comprehend what has just occurred.
"You monster," Orihime says softly, her voice filling the room. The only other sounds is Nelliel's panicked breaths and Ulquiorra's heavy panting due to his anger. Upon hearing this Ulquiorra's head whips round and he takes calculating steps towards the shivering young girl. Despite his technique of trying to intimidate her she appears unaffected.
"How dare you." he snarls. His fangs bared as he put a now clawed hand under her chin. Tilting it he stares into her eyes. There was a saying once, that the eyes are the window to the soul. He watched her eyes and smirks in his cruel and twisted way. "Have you forgotten Miss Inoue, that you belong to me? That you're to be my wife and the bearer of my offspring? I own you Miss Inoue."
"I belong to nobody." She snaps back glaring with a new defiance in her eyes.
"You will always belong to me, unless you want me to wipe out your friends like your brother was." He was unsure as to what happened next other than he was looking away from her. From the corner of his eye he spies both Grimmjow and Nelliel's shocked expressions. Glancing back at Orihime he notices her arm is across her chest and her breathing ragged. It is then he realises what happened.
She had slapped him. There was a fierce fire in her eyes and he saw her desire to protect her friends along with the sadness that accompanied her brother's death. Turning on his heel he walked off leaving the trio alone. Tears begin to roll down Orihime's cheeks as she bends over slightly. Grimmjow watches her before looking at Nelliel. She shakes her head not knowing what to do. Carefully they go over to Orihime, who in turn looks up. Her eyes settle on Grimmjow's missing arm.
Pulling herself together, she walks over to him.
"I'm sorry." She says.
"Don't be," he grunts, trying to hold in the pain from leaking into his voice. He didn't want her to know that it was causing him so much pain. She was hurting too much as it was, he didn't need to add to it more. Nelliel rubs Grimmjow's shoulders soothingly and is still wary. Orihime was the source of Ulquiorra's anger and despite the fact she knew it wasn't Orihime's fault, the anger was still there.
"We'll be back in a little while Orihime." Nelliel says. "I'm just going to take Grimmjow to get cleaned up." Orihime nods slowly and watches the couple leave her alone with her thoughts.
Ulquiorra stormed into his room, his mind preoccupied with the slap she had given him. Even in her this determination was not present. Whilst he should be angered by this, he was intrigued. When he had stared into her eyes he saw her soul. He had seen the purity as well as the repression. That damn repression. He growled lowly before a knock on the door sounded.
"Enter." He says.
Karakura Town
Kisuke sat listening to Ukitake talk. He was replaying all the events that had occurred in the meeting. It had occurred to him that Ichigo would go to the Soul Society and request their assistance. If anything he had been preparing for this, calculating each and every move that could be played out and working on the outcomes. At present he was calculating the latest of the possibilities. All in all no outcomes currently were looking good.
"You're looking awfully troubled for so early." A voice says. He smirks as Yoruichi sits down next to him.
"No matter what, the outcome is looking the same." He says, she frowns picking up on the troubled tone of his voice. "At this rate the past is going to repeat itself. We cannot let that happen. Not after the last time."
"He knows the risks." She says. "Nelliel called…she said they had a fight, Orihime slapped him. I had told him to make her trust him, although it seems he is struggling to achieve this."
"Can you really blame him?" Kisuke says. "He lost so much that day. One would think that the soul reapers learnt their lesson but evidently not."
"So what is the plan?" she asks him.
"The only possible route that will lead to the…less destructive outcome is through a concoction. It will take me a while however, to make this so we need a way to stall the soul society from invading Las Noches."
"Leave that to me and Soi Fon, we have it covered." She says. He nods in return as she rushes off. He sighs before getting up. If he was going to go through with his plan he needed to act now and fast. Now the Soul Society was officially involved he needed to ensure that everything he could do would stop them from making the same mistake again. Although, if what Nelliel said about Orihime slapping Ulquiorra was true then there was a chance that they may be able to succeed.
A/N: So this is a little shorter than normal but I feel as if this is a good place to end this for now. Anyways I should be updating more and more now I have no more school. So until the next update J
