It was a hot and humid day in the Outlands. All of the water that was there, which there was very little, was starting to dry up. Food became sparse for those who were exiled to this desert wasteland. This was all due to constant long periods of droughts in which devastated the area. Fighting between packs of lions had increased over the span of the last ten years. This place in fact was a "living hell".
The strongest group of all were known as the Outsiders, a group who were in complete power of the outlands and briefly ruled the Pride Lands. Their leader was Zira, the despised wife of Scar. She was the only Outsider that was banished when Kopa came into power. Since then, lions from smaller groups started filling in roles for Zira. However, not everyone decided to join her. In fact, other lions started combining together to form the Aduis, Swahili for "enemies". The Aduis are the second strongest group in the outlands and are made up of mostly rogues, lions who were exiled by Simba and Zira. The tension between the two groups intensified when one of the Adui cubs was found dead and ripped to shreds. Skirmishes between the two groups happen often, but very rarely do they go into big battles.
To get on with the story, Zira and the rest of the Outsiders are on the move to find some water to quench their thirst. They have been on the run for a while now due to the Aduis and the Mshirikas, a small group of lions who are allied with the Aduis, chasing them from the waters near their area. In Swahili, mshirika literally means "ally".
"Zira, what are we going to do?" one of the lions asked.
"I don't know what we are going to do," Zira responded, "Darn those Aduis and Mshirikas! Chasing us out of OUR turf. We'll get them back someday." It was starting to get late. The Outsiders had to stop and find a place to sleep. Zira spotted some weird, green-looking cave that had steam was coming out of. She recognized the place on first sight.
"The palace of Scar!" Zira proudly said as she looked at her ex-husbands infamous palace.
"This is the place my husband solely built from the ground up! Thank you, sweet Scar! Thank you for leading us back home!" Zira lead the Outsiders into the palace and told them that for now on, they will live here.
