So, this is the end. I think the reason why I didn't post this ending sooner was simply because life got in the way and more that just wasn't ready for it to end. I want to thank each reader for sticking it out this long and taking the time to read this story. I know it wasn't perfect and a bit long at times. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed it. Without further delay, here is the epilogue i promised.
"You're getting married this weekend. The rehearsal dinner is tomorrow night thanks to Rebekah. How could you not want a bachelorette party this Friday night?" Lexi asked Caroline wide eyed.
Caroline chuckled rolling her eyes taking a sip from her drink. They were at a bar downtown, unwinding from a long day at work. Tomorrow was her last day in the office and she was still making arrangements for her assistant editor to take over while she was away for her honeymoon. Her reporters were already set but she had her final meeting with them in the morning. She looked at Lexi and smiled, "I just don't think it's that important."
Lexi threw her hands in the air, "oh poppy cock," she said, putting her drink down. "You are having this party whether you like it or not."
Caroline looked up at Lexi shaking her head, "No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Care," she said looking at her, "come on, it'll be fun. Just us girls," she smiled.
Caroline looked at Lexi and saw her pouty face; she shook her head and laughed, "Fine. Throw me a bachelorette party"
Lexi grinned, clapping in triumph, "you're gonna celebrate the last Friday night as a single woman with a bang. Strippers, nightclubs the whole shi bang"
Caroline laughed looking at Lexi, "oh god no. I am getting married the next day."
Lexi laughed, "Come on it'll be fun."
"What will be fun," Klaus asked stepping up to Caroline, kissing her on the cheek.
Lexi grinned, "I'm throwing Caroline a bachelorette party."
He lifted his eyebrows looking at Caroline as he took his jacket off, "really," he smirked looking at his fiancé.
"What," she said, "it was Lexi's idea," she picked up her drink. "I honestly could've cared less."
He laughed, "Kol's throwing me a bachelor party Friday night," he waved down the waitress, "I don't see why you can't have a bachelorette party."
Caroline eyes widen, "I didn't know that."
He smirked, "don't worry sweetheart," he leaned over pecking her lips, "you're the only woman I want."
"Oh god, please, enough with the lovey dovey crap," Lexi said gulping down the rest of her drink.
They laughed as Caroline put her hand on Klaus' knee as Klaus turned to the waitress to order. Caroline looked at Lexi smiling. "Speaking of lovey dovey crap," she looked at Lexi, "how's Enzo?"
Lexi couldn't hide her blush as she pushed her hair behind her ears, "we're good. He'll be my date to the wedding actually."
"Who's Enzo?" Klaus asked, leaning on the table.
Caroline lifted her eyebrows to Lexi, "you haven't told him?"
Lexi rolled her eyes, "he has the tendency to over react with the people I date."
"He, is sitting right here," Klaus cut in, looking between Lexi and Caroline. "So who's this Enzo and when do I get to meet him?"
Lexi sighed, "We've been dating for the past five months."
"Five months," Klaus said, looking at Lexi. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I wanted to see where this is going before I introduce him to you Klaus," she said, "no offense, but you're kind of scary."
Caroline laughed, but shimmered to a chuckle when Klaus looked at her. She shrugged and took a sip of her drink.
"I am not scary."
Lexi rolled her eyes "ssuuurrre," she mumbled waving down the waitress.
He held up his hands, "when have I been 'scary' with your boyfriends?"
"Jake," she arched her eyebrow at Klaus, crossing her arms on the table.
"How was I supposed to know he didn't know how to use a gun?"
Caroline giggled because she recalled Lexi telling her that story. When Klaus met up with her boyfriend Jake for the first time he took him to the local shooting range and he came back with a bullet in the foot.
"Aaron?"
Klaus rolled his eye, "he was a wanker and good riddance if you ask me."
"Anyone that comes home with a black eye, red lip stick and mini skirt, has every right to be a wanker," Lexi said.
Caroline nearly spit out her drink and laughed, looking up at Klaus, "what did you do?"
"We had a guy's night out in London and then it turned into a competition, he lost," Klaus shrugged taking a drink of his scotch.
Lexi shook her head, "so now you know why I'm a little hesitant to introduce my boyfriend to my best friend."
Caroline laughed, "oh come on Lex, those weren't that bad."
She arched her eyebrow at Caroline, "Has he over reacted to you with your guy friends and I don't mean Matt."
Caroline looked back at Klaus, thinking of Ian. When Caroline told Ian she was getting married he was happy for her, but that didn't stop him from having a word with Klaus on how if he hurt her he'd have him to deal with.
She originally thought it was sweet because she thought Ian turned into a great friend, but Klaus still had a little grudge from when Carline chose to spend time with him after her stay in the hospital.
So they ended up in a wrestling match, boys will be boys, she guessed. They've since then come to terms with one another but she always feels Klaus' grip tighten on her whenever Ian is around. "You are kind of scary."
Lexi laughed looking at Klaus, "see!"
He lifted up his hands, "what, is it a crime to that I don't want any other guy touching my future wife or hurting my best friend."
Caroline and Lexi laughed shaking their heads. "Klaus its fine, but you can't control everything," Caroline said. "So when you meet Enzo, remember, Lexi knows how to destroy people with a click of a mouse."
Lexi nodded, "she has a point," she smiled, "I love you Klaus. You're my brother, but please, please, when you meet Enzo at your bachelor party don't be too rough on him."
"Who invited him to my bachelor party?"
She smiled brightly, "Kol, duh. They met a few weeks ago, and they hit it off."
Klaus looked at Lexi, she just smiled. "You had Kol meet this guy before me," his eyes wide, "I can tell I'm really going to love this guy."
Lexi hit his arm, "shut it and I mean it," she pointed at him, "you better be nice."
He rolled his eyes taking a drink and nodding, "fine."
She smiled and leaned over hugging Klaus. He smiled and squeezed her back.
Caroline smiled, downing the rest of her drink. She loved that Klaus had Lexi. She knew that she was the one who helped keep him safe when he went out to work. Even though it's been less and less Klaus still occasionally took jobs. She was going to be Klaus' best man this weekend, which fit perfectly because Matt was Caroline's maid of honor. She wished she could've had all of them be her maid of honor but in the end Matty was her rock.
"So tell me what is on the agenda for this bachelorette party," Klaus smiled looking at Caroline, taking her hand in his. He kissed her ring finger.
She shrugged, "I don't know. Like I said this was her idea," she nodded to Lexi.
Lexi grinned at Klaus, "oh you know the usual. A night club, some police strippers," she mumbled.
Klaus's eyes narrowed at her, "sounds wonderful," he said sarcastically.
Caroline laughed at the look Klaus was giving Lexi, "oh stop," she pushed his shoulder, "it's not like your bachelor party is going to be so innocent. I mean Kol planned it." Caroline jumped off the bar stool looking at Klaus.
"So, please," she smiled at Klaus, "Take me home," he smirked at her.
Lexi rolled her eyes, "oh god, please stop. I know that look and I think Imma gag."
Klaus chuckled, standing up, "I can't help it," he wrapped his arm around Caroline's waist and pulled her close before kissing her, hard. When he pulled away, Caroline was breathless smiling, "she's ravishing."
"Please stop," Lexi said shaking her head, "go before both of you decided to start stripping each other."
Caroline laughed. She put a few bills on the table and looked up at Lexi, "say hi to Enzo for me and the tabs on me."
Lexi jumped off her bar stool and hugged Caroline, "thanks sweetie, we'll talk tomorrow."
"I'll meet your bloke Friday night," he smiled hugging Lexi.
"I mean it Klaus," she pulled bag looking at him. "I really like him."
He nodded, "fine, he will return to you in one piece."
Caroline walked out of the bathroom stall with her hand over her mouth. She couldn't understand why she was throwing up. She only had one drink at the bar last night. She walked up to the sink and started to wash out her mouth.
"Oh, Hi Miss Forbes."
She turned her head and saw her assistant closing the door. She smiled, "hey Erica, how many times have I told you to call me Caroline."
"Of course, are you ok?" Erica said smiling, stepping up to Caroline. "You look a little pale."
Caroline sighed, "I don't know what's going on. I've been getting these wired waves of sickness lately," she patted her cheeks.
Erica lifted an eyebrow, "like morning sickness?"
Caroline's eyes went wide, "What?" She said in shock, shaking her head, "no…no." Caroline starred at herself in the mirror counting numbers in her head before she felt a knot in her stomach.
"Shit," she mumbled. She stood up straight, smoothing down her blouse, "excuse me Erica." She looked at her assistant, "everything is set for my departure. I will have my cellphone but that's only for emergencies." Caroline took a deep breath closing her eyes, when she opened she saw her assistant smiling at her.
Erica stepped up to her boss and took her hands, "Breathe Caroline," she smiled. "Congratulations. We'll see you in a month."
Caroline nodded smiling, "thank you Erica," she hugged her. "I have to go." Caroline walked out of the restroom quickly and headed straight for her office. She snatched up her purse and jacket. She looked around her office taking a deep breath. This was going to be the first time she'd be gone from her job for more than a few days. She smiled because she had confidence in her staff.
Caroline stepped out onto the busy San Francisco street looking for a cab. When she found one lingering on the street corner she walked over quickly and got in.
"Nearest drug store, please," she told the driver, clicking on her seatbelt.
Caroline was walking back and forth nervously in the living room of their apartment. She was dressed for the rehearsal dinner and her black pumps were clicking against the hard wood floor.
She looked at her phone again. The dinner was in an hour and Klaus said he'd be home with only enough time to change, but Caroline didn't want to wait to talk to him.
The art gallery he invested in with Stefan opened without a hitch and they've been busy ever since. They just opened the exhibit of one of San Francisco's top abstract artists. That client coming in just before the wedding pushed much of the work on Stefan, but he was happy to do it.
Caroline felt her heart jump when the front door opened. She looked up and saw Klaus walk in smiling.
"Hey sweetheart," he closed the door slowly when he saw the look on her face. "What's wrong?"
She smiled shaking her head. She felt a lump in her throat already because she didn't know how to say this.
He walked up to her quickly. He put his arms around her, pulling her into a hug, "Caroline," he said softly rubbing her back, "what is it?"
Caroline gripped his back and felt a few tears fall from her eyes before she finally pushed away.
"Are you sure you want to marry me," she said looking up at him.
Klaus laughed lightly, "of course I do sweetheart," he touched her cheek, wiping away a tear, "that's why I asked you."
She smiled taking a breath, "you know there are a lot of things that come with marriage. I mean your other job isn't exactly what one would call stable."
Klaus' smiled faded, he felt his body go tense, "Caroline where is this coming from?" he asked. "If you want me to leave that behind I will, I've told you that."
Caroline saw the concerned look on Klaus' face. She loved him, she knew that and she wanted nothing more than to be his wife. So, Caroline took a breath and turned around from Klaus, reaching for the stick she placed on the coffee table.
She looked down at it, "No, no, that's not the point," she sighed. "I've been having these wired waves of sickness lately," she sniffed. "I thought it was food I ate or possibly a stomach virus." She looked up at him and Klaus' eyes were full of concern.
Klaus put his hand on her cheek, "what is it baby?" She grabbed his hand and placed the stick in it. Klaus looked down and felt the air catch in his throat.
"I'm pregnant."
Klaus starred at the blue stick in his hand and could've sworn his heart stopped beating. Pregnant, they're having a baby, he thought to himself. He looked up at Caroline and back at the stick in his hand, his eyes focusing in on the little screen that said "pregnant." He couldn't help it, a grin spread across his face. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a deep kiss.
Caroline broke the kiss and giggled, "I take that it's a good thing."
He lifted her chin so she'd look at him, "Love," he pecked her lips, "this is a great thing." He kissed her again his hand going down her stomach, "we're having a baby"
Caroline smiled. All her doubts and fears disappeared as she wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "I love you Nik."
He smiled, "I love you too Caroline," he kissed along her cheek before capturing her lips. He deepened the kiss and gripped on to Caroline's hips. He smiled when he heard her moan. His hands slid up her back and pushed her closer to him.
Caroline's fingers were playing in Klaus' hair as they're kiss turned hungry. She moaned again when his tongue entered her mouth. She pulled back to breathe, laughing lightly, "the rehearsal dinner."
"They can wait," he breathed pulling her back to him.
Caroline laughed but was cut off by Klaus' lips. She felt his hands go to the zipper on her dress and she could feel him hard against her belly. She smiled, sliding her hands over his shoulders, letting his jacket fall to the floor.
They could be a little late, she told herself as she ripped open Klaus' shirt, earning a chuckle from him as the buttons hit the floor. She was done waiting, she wanted him now.
Caroline and Klaus walked into Elijah's house beaming. They were only 45 minutes late. Caroline gripped Klaus' hand when Rebekah walked up to them scowling.
"I know this is your wedding," she looked at Klaus and Caroline, "but it is still rude for the guests of honor to keep everyone waiting."
Caroline stepped forward and hugged Rebekah, "I'm sorry Bekah, it was my fault," she smiled pulling back. "I had to talk to Klaus and it just took longer than expected."
Rebekah looked between the both of them, she arched an eyebrow, "you know having a quickie before your rehearsal dinner isn't exactly talking," she smirked.
Klaus chuckled, pulling Rebekah into a quick hug. Kissing the top of her head, "dear sister, we are here so please lead us to this grand dinner you've planned."
Rebekah grinned, "Come." she nodded toward the ball room, "everyone is waiting."
Klaus gripped Caroline's waist as they followed Rebekah.
Klaus squeezed Caroline's hand as they sat in the doctor's room. She looked up at him and smiled. He kissed her ring finger as the door opened.
"Mr and Mrs. Mikaelson," said an older woman with salt and pepper hair said walking into the examination room smiling. "I'm Doctor Winters."
"Yes, hello," Klaus said smiling, standing up straight.
"Congratulations," she smiled, "you're in fact pregnant."
Caroline smiled brightly, pushing strands of her blond hair behind her ears, "how many weeks?"
"You're about six weeks along, and everything is fine," the doctor said looking through her notes. "I'll prescribe you some prenatal vitamins and give you some more information on what to expect during your pregnancy." The doctor started scribbling some notes down when Caroline smiled up at Klaus.
"Will she be able travel?"
The doctor looked up from her folder, "Yes, traveling and other activities is not a problem. Many of the limitations come further along."
"We're getting married this weekend and plan on flying to London first, then Paris, Rome and Tokyo for our honeymoon," Klaus said, looking at Caroline smiling. "I don't want to put her in any unnecessary risk."
The doctor closed the file and smiled at them, "enjoy yourselves and congratulations," she handed Caroline a few pieces of paper. "Here is your prescription for the prenatal vitamins, a few pamphlets on what to expect, and please set up your next appointment for when you return from your honeymoon. You'll be able to hear the baby's heartbeat after eight weeks, so by the time you get back we can do an ultrasound."
Caroline smiled, "thank you Dr. Winters."
The doctor nodded and opened the door for Klaus and Caroline, "remember come see me as soon as you get back," she pointed at them.
Klaus nodded and shook the doctor's hand, "will be here."
"Caroline!" Lexi yelled walking into the couple's apartment with a bottle of champagne. She wanted to have a pre-game with the wife to be before they met up with the gang downtown.
"In the bathroom," she heard, closing the door. Lexi walked into the kitchen and grabbed two glasses before making her way to the master bedroom.
Lexi smiled brightly when she saw Caroline putting on a little eyeliner, "hey," she walked up to her bumping her side.
"Ugh, liquid," Caroline grumbled, putting the bottle down and snatching up a tissue.
Lexi laughed placing the glass and bottle on the sink, "I brought us a little starter."
Caroline wiped at her eye, smiling nervously, "great."
Lexi lifted an eyebrow, "what's this?" she said moving her finger around. She picked up the bottle, "I thought you liked this brand," she whined looking back up at Caroline.
Caroline chuckled, "it's not that Lex." She cleared her throat and started re applying her liner.
Lexi held up her hands, "what then."
"Nothing," she said closing the eyeliner bottle. "Pour us some champagne."
Lexi narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms, "Caroline?"
Caroline sighed because Klaus and she agreed to not tell anyone until after the honeymoon, "Lexi."
"Caroline," Lexi said exasperated, "what are you hiding from me?"
"I'm pregnant!" Caroline shouted.
Lexi screamed in excitement and hugged Caroline, "Oh my god Caroline!" She pulled back, both of them smiling, "when, what, how," she paused, "well that's a dumb question of course I know how. Ew gross I don't need to think about Klaus like that."
"Lexi," Caroline said laughing.
"Sorry," Lexi said pulling Caroline into the bedroom. "Tell me everything?" They sat down on the bed. Caroline was smiling because she had wanted to tell someone.
"I'm six weeks," she smiled, "and we won't hear the heartbeat or know the sex for a couple of more weeks."
Lexi smiled hugging Caroline again, "how'd Klaus react?"
Caroline smiled warmly, "he's excited, happy. We both are."
"Oh Caroline," Lexi sighed, "I'm so happy for both of you. After everything you've both been through," she grabbed her hand. "You both deserve this amount of happiness."
Caroline nodded, pushing her hair behind her ears, "I think so too." She looked up at Lexi, "I'm going to be a mom."
Lexi grinned, "I'm going to be an auntie," she squeed hugging Caroline.
Caroline looked at herself in the mirror as Matt put her veil on the top of her head. Katherine blew her away with her wedding dress, and that made up for her wanting to strangle her. How such a calm individual like Elijah ended up with such a complicated woman is beyond her. But in the end she wanted to cry when Katherine finished the dress. The design is a vintage satin and lace sweetheart grown and a layered cathedral length beading tulle veil.
"You look beautiful Caroline," Matt said smiling as he rubbed her shoulders.
Caroline looked at him in the mirror smiling, "I'm getting married Matt."
He sighed, resting his chin on her head, "Klaus is a lucky man Caroline. You're one of a kind."
She smiled, sighing, "I'm scared Matt."
Matt chuckled, turning Caroline to face him. He tipped her chin up for her to look at him, "you say the word and we're out that door," he smirked. "Everyone will have to get over it."
Caroline laughed, shaking her head, "it's not that Matt. I want to marry Klaus, I love him."
He shrugged, "then what's the problem because I'm pretty sure he loves you too."
Caroline nodded, "but for how long? I've been married before Matt and we all know how that ended."
Matt sighed pulling Caroline into his arms for a hug, "listen to me Care. You deserve this. Out of any of us, you are the one who deserves to be happy. You're the most selfless person I know. You always put others before yourself, and you finally found someone willing to put you before anything else."
Caroline smiled into Matt's chest, hugging him tightly. "This is really happening."
"Yes it is." She heard and Caroline looked up from Matt's chest, "Hey!" she pulled Matt in front of her, shielding her from Klaus' sight, "it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding."
Klaus chuckled, "that is why I'm covering my eyes," he said with a smirk, pointing to the hand over his eyes.
Matt laughed, "I'll give you two a minute."
"Thanks mate."
"What are you doing Nik," Caroline asked stepping up to Klaus. She smiled because he looked absolutely stunning in his black suit and bowtie. She smiled at the tulip pinned to it.
"I wanted to hear the voice of my beautiful bride and mother to be."
She chuckled, "I was going to see you in 10 minutes."
"Yes well I couldn't wait that long," he smirked. "and there is kind of a surprise for you."
"Nik," she walked up to him, slipping her arms around his waist. "I guess we can be quick."
Klaus laughed, resting his open hand on her hip, "as nice as that'd be that is not the surprise." He cleared his throat loudly.
Caroline looked behind him and dropped her hands from Klaus, "Mom," she paused. "Dad." She stepped back from Klaus. She hasn't seen her parents in over a decade. She didn't exactly leave home in good standing with her mom, and her father didn't exactly reach out after he had another daughter.
"What are you doing here?"
They stepped toward her. Klaus cleared his throat, "I'll be right outside sweetheart, and please don't let this stop you from meeting me at the end of that aisle." Klaus felt his way out of the room and closed the door.
Caroline stood there staring at her parents, "what are you doing here?"
"You're getting married," Bill said.
She sighed, "Yes I know, but what are you doing here."
"Caroline," Liz said stepping up to her. "You're our daughter. Of course we're here."
"I haven't heard from you since I was 18," she said to her mother. She looked at her dad, "not from you since I was 16, how is Carrie?" Caroline sighed in annoyance; she didn't know her father's daughter very well. She only met her twice. "So like I said what are you doing here?"
"You weren't there when I graduated from college or earned my master's degree," she started to get angry. "Or when I became an award winning journalist."
Liz stepped closer to Caroline but she stepped back holding in tears.
"So tell me, in what world do you get to be at my wedding?" she shouted.
"Are you ok sweetheart," she heard and looked past her parents to see Klaus standing in the doorway, his hand still over his eyes.
She felt herself calm and took a deep breath, "I'm fine, give us a minute Nik."
He nodded and closed the door.
"He seems like a nice man," Liz said. "How long have you two been together?"
"Over two years," she said, crossing her arms.
"And you're getting married," Bill said. "A bit soon don't you think?"
"Yes and no it's not too soon," she stated, narrowing her eyes at her dad. "That's what you do when you love someone. You are a part of their life forever."
"Caroline that's not fair," Liz said.
"What's not fair mother," she snapped, getting frustrated. She wasn't about to let her parents ruin the happiest day of her life. "How did you two even find out about this?"
"I told them," Bonnie said coming out of the dressing room, wearing a red backless dress. Caroline forgot her bridesmaids were in there getting ready. "They're your parents Care."
Caroline sighed, "Bon, your heart is in the right place but this wasn't your decision. If I wanted them to be here I would've invited them."
"Sorry Care."
She shook her head, "its ok. Give us a minute."
Bonnie, Elena, Anna and Lexi walked out of the dressing room, smiling softly at Caroline.
Caroline looked back at her parents, "look," she sighed. "We have a lot of issues to work out, but now is not the time to do it." She turned around and looked at herself in the mirror, checking her make-up and vale.
"If you want to stay then you can," she said looking at them in the mirror, "as guests."
Caroline turned toward them to see them smiling, "that is all we ask," Liz said.
She walked toward them, "Nik and I are going to be traveling for our honeymoon," she told them. "Maybe after we get back we can talk."
Bill and Liz grabbed their daughter and hugged her. Caroline stood there stiffly, she cleared her throat, "we start in a few minutes." She pulled away looking at them. "There should be plenty of room for you to find a seat."
They nodded. Before Liz left she stood in front of Caroline, "I brought you something." Liz pulled out a charm bracelet. "This was my mothers." She looked up at Caroline, "I wanted to give it to you when you got married." She held it up.
Caroline nodded, holding up her wrist. Liz smiled, "I am proud of you Caroline and the only thing I've ever wanted is to be back in your life."
"Thank you for the bracelet," Caroline said.
"Now you have something old," Liz smiled and walked out.
Caroline took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but she couldn't stop the tears from falling and she began sobbing.
"Love," she heard, looking up from her hands to see Klaus coming up to her.
"Nik, you're not supposed to see me," she cried, waving him away.
Klaus walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her, "I don't care about traditions, especially if you're crying."
She chuckled resting her cheek on his chest, taking deep breaths.
"I had no idea they were going to be here Caroline," he said. "I mean you don't exactly talk about your parents and when they weren't on the guest list I figured you had your reasons."
He started rubbing her back, "plus I'm not exactly the one who had normal parents so I never questioned you sweetheart."
Caroline laughed, looking up at him. Klaus wiped away the tears, "You look like a dream love."
She smiled softly, stepping back so he could see her full dress. She spun around, and Klaus felt his breath catch in his throat.
"Merry me sweetheart, be my wife."
Caroline smiled brightly, nodding, "that's why we're here Nik." She walked up to him and took his hands in hers, "and I think it's time don't you."
Klaus kissed her hands and pecked her lips, "freshen up love. You have a date in a few minutes."
She chuckled, "is he at least handsome?"
"Of course, he'll be the fetching British man in a bowtie," Klaus winked and walked out.
"Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the dance floor for their first dance," the singer's voice echoed through the Bentley Reserve hall, "Mr. and Mrs. Niklaus Mikaelson."
Klaus walked Caroline onto the dance floor, her dress trailing behind her. He doesn't recall the last time he was this happy. He actually did it. He married the woman of his dreams and she is not only his wife but the mother to his child.
He twirled Caroline as the soft string of the guitar started to play and he pulled her into him as the singer started to sing, "Let it be me," by Social Distortion. Caroline smiled brightly as she rested her arm on Klaus' arm and he led her into the middle of the dance floor.
"I can't believe you chose this as our first dance song," she smiled as they moved around the floor.
"It seems fitting," he smirked as Caroline chuckled. He smiled when he heard her voice start to sing along. Klaus' grip tightened around her waist.
Let it be me—if you're lonely
Let it be me—you're one and only
Let it be me—to satisfy you
Let it be me—if you're feelin' blue
"It'll always be you," he heard. He looked down at her and smiled. She leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder. Klaus wrapped his arms around her and moved slowly around the dance floor
"If any other couples would like to join the happy couple on the dance floor, you may," the singer said.
Klaus looked around and saw their friends make their way onto the floor. He smiled at his brothers as they led their women around the floor. He nodded at Lexi when she stepped on to the dance floor with her fella. As the song came to an end, everyone clapped and Klaus led Caroline back to the table.
"Do you want anything sweetheart," he asked as they sat down. She shook her head, "I'm good." He nodded, picking up her hand and kissing her knuckles when they heard the tinkling of a glass.
Klaus looked up to see Lexi standing holding a mic. He chuckled because he knew that Lexi hated speaking to large groups of people.
"Hey," Lexi stammered into the mic. "I guess it's time for me to talk about the man of the hour," she chuckled, looking at Klaus. "In case none of you knew, I'm Lexi, Klaus' best man."
Klaus smiled as he rested his arm on Caroline's shoulder, pulling her closer. He laughed when Lexi showed up at the wedding in a dress that looked like his groomsmen's suits, but it wouldn't be Lexi if she just showed up in a plain black dress.
"I've known Klaus for over a decade and no one is more surprised by this happily ever after than me," she said smiling at him. "But also no one knows more than me how much he deserves this amount of happiness and Caroline, you're his happiness. There is nothing he won't do for his family Caroline because for Klaus there is nothing more important."
"So," Lexi held up her glass of champagne, "a toast to the happy couple and Caroline," she smiled, "welcome to the family."
"Cheers," Lexi shouted, downing the rest of her champagne with everyone following in unison.
Klaus stood up and hugged his best friend and kissed her on the cheek, "Love you Lex."
"Love you too," she smiled, squeezing Klaus. Klaus sat back down and kissed Caroline's hand to see Matt standing up holding a mic.
"Well how can a guy follow that," he said chuckling. Matt looked at Caroline smiling.
"Care Bear," he said, earning a chuckled from Caroline. "You've been a part of my life for a long time and in that time I've seen you happy, sad, furious, silly and determined. But in these past two years I've seen something else, love."
"Caroline I've seen you love your friends and family but that love doesn't compare to the love I see in your eyes when you're with Klaus," Matt smiled. "He's brought you back to life and for that I am grateful because there is no one in this room that deserves a love that deep more than you."
Caroline wiped a tear away from her cheek as she looked at Matt. Matt sighed and lifted his glass, "So let's raise a glass to Caroline and Klaus, a love that will last forever."
"Klaus and Caroline," everyone said before drinking.
Klaus and Caroline stood up. Carline hugged Matt, kissing his cheek, "thanks Matty, I love you."
"Love you to Care," Matt smiled as he squeezed his best friend. They stood there for a minute just hugging. When she pulled away Klaus stepped up to Matt and shook his hand.
"Thanks mate," Klaus smiled.
"Not a problem," Matt smiled. "Take care of her Klaus." He said watching Caroline turn her attention to Bonnie and Elena.
"I plan too," Klaus smiled.
Caroline woke up to Klaus kissing her shoulder. She smiled, yawning, "good morning."
"Morning Mrs. Mikaelson."
She chuckled and turned toward Klaus, "how long have you been awake?"
Klaus pulled her close and nuzzled into her neck, "about half an hour."
Caroline smiled and kissed the top of Klaus' head and started to run her hands down his back, loving the little trimmers that came with it.
"What are we doing today?"
"Well it's our last night in Tokyo," Klaus said kissing down her collar bone and moving between her breasts. "What do you want to do love?"
Caroline moaned when Klaus' tongue circled her nipple, "I can't think with you doing that" she gasped arching her back when Klaus stared to suck on her nipple.
"Nik," she breathed, fisting his hair. With a pop, Klaus' mouth left her breast; she looked down to see him smirking.
"What," he said softly, placing butterfly kisses down her chest. "It's up to you sweetheart," he kissed down her stomach. "I don't care if we never leave this bed."
Caroline chuckled and felt heat build in her as Klaus kissed her belly button. He stopped there and stared kissing all across her lower abdomen, "how are you feeling?" He said, talking to her stomach.
She smiled, raking her hands through his hair, "she's fine."
Klaus looked up, arching an eyebrow, "she?"
"I think it's a girl."
Klaus smiled, "she," he said, before kissing her stomach again. "Whoever you are," he kissed her stomach again, "I can't wait to meet you."
Caroline felt her heart swell, "I love you Nik," she said choking up a little. "So much."
"Hey," he said, moving back up to face her. He thumbed away a tear, "why are you crying?"
She groaned, pulling him closer so his body covered hers. "I have no idea," she chuckled.
Klaus smiled against her neck and started nibbling at it, "you can cry whenever you'd like," he kissed up to her ear, biting the lobe. "I'll always be here."
Caroline sighed in content and started to kiss Klaus' shoulder, "Always and Forever."
Klaus pushed himself up on his elbows and looked at his wife. He smiled, "Always and Forever."
Caroline pushed her hand through his hair before pulling him down for a kiss. She pushed her tongue in his mouth and earned a moan as his hand went down her side. Caroline tugged at Klaus' hair and bit his lip.
Klaus broke the kiss with a groan and started to kiss her neck, "we're not leaving this bed."
Caroline chuckled as Klaus moved his hand between her legs. She felt a shiver go up her spine when he nibbled at her lobe and slid his finger along her folds.
Klaus smiled against her neck, "Oh love," he sighed, moving next to her ear. "You're always so ready for me."
Caroline started moving her hips, "Nik," she breathed before biting his neck. "Stop teasing me." She whimpered when his tongue slide down her collar bone and he pushed a finger inside her.
Klaus sucked in a breath when he felt Caroline's nails dig into his shoulders. He picked up his motions with his fingers and covered Caroline's lips with his. He felt her moan against his lips as he deepened the kiss.
"Caroline," Klaus said softly, pushing her hair out of her face. "It's time to wake up sweetheart." Caroline grumbled and Klaus laughed, "We're about to land."
She yawned and started to rub her eyes, "what time is it?"
He smiled looking down at his watch, "it's just after 6 p.m."
"I'm starving," she said, glancing out the window smiling as the lights of San Francisco glowed. "We're home." She smiled.
Klaus laced his fingers with hers as the plane hit the landing strip, "what do you feel like having for dinner?
"I don't care," she said looking at him, "you choose."
He nodded and slipped his phone out of his pocket, "would you like to go out or eat at home?"
"Home," she smiled, and took her phone out of her purse. She hasn't paid that much attention to her phone since they've been out of the country. She loved the honeymoon Klaus planned out for them, it was so relaxing and she was shocked to see the place he owned in London. It was amazing. Klaus kept telling her that it's their home now.
Caroline has always imagined living in London, and now that it is a possibility she is tempted to actually do it someday.
"Wow," she said when her phone finally turned on. "I guess ignoring my phone for three weeks wasn't the best thing." She showed Klaus the number of emails, texts and voicemails filling her notification bar.
He chucked, "I told you to check it at least once a week."
She shrugged, "it was my honeymoon. I only get one of those." Caroline said as she started looking through her texts, "Lexi is very anxious to see us."
She looked up to see Klaus smiling at her, "what?"
Klaus leaned over and kissed her, "love, I'll sweep you off to Rome, Tokyo and Paris anytime you want."
She chuckled, pecking his lips before she looked back at her phone, "it's a date."
"Welcome to San Francisco," they heard the pilot say as they felt the plane come to a stop. Klaus and Caroline stood up after the seat belt sign went off. She grabbed her purse and jacket before Klaus took her hand to walk off the plane.
After they got their luggage they walked out of the airport and Caroline smiled brightly when she saw Elijah waiting with his car.
"Elijah," she said happily and walked up to him giving him a hug and kiss on the cheek.
"Caroline," he said, squeezing her. "Hope you had a wonderful trip." He let her go and looked up at Klaus.
"Niklaus," he said nodding. Klaus smiled, shaking Elijah's hand.
"Thanks for picking us up Elijah," Klaus said, putting his arm around Caroline's waist.
"Not a problem," he said, turning toward the car. "Let's get you home."
When Caroline opened the door to their apartment she smiled, "oh it's so nice to be home," she said walking in. She put her purse and coat down on the bar.
"I ordered us Chinese food for dinner," Klaus said walking up behind his wife and wrapping his arms around her. He kissed her neck, "is that ok?"
Caroline leaned back into Klaus and sighed happily, she nodded. She turned her head and pecked Klaus on the lips, "I have a phone call to make," she grinned.
Klaus laughed, when she tried to pull away, but he stopped her and nuzzled her neck, "don't be long. The food will be here any minute."
She chuckled and peeled his hands off her, sliding her phone out of her jeans smiling. She dialed Matt and walked into their bedroom. She took a deep breath and jumped on the bed.
"Well, well, well if it isn't Mrs. Mikaelson," she heard on the line and laughed.
"Hey Matty," she smiled.
"Hey Care, just get home?"
She nodded, "yup and already want to see everyone," she sighed. "Three weeks traveling has been amazing, and Klaus is amazing, but I miss my family. I have an announcement and I want everyone there to hear it."
Matt chuckled, "we missed you to. Are you free tomorrow? Let's say around 7 p.m."
She smiled, "that will be perfect. I don't have to go back to work for another week, but I do have an appointment tomorrow, but that is in the morning. So it's a date."
"Great, don't worry about anything, will bring the food and drinks to your place," he said happily.
"I'm so excited," she smiled.
Matt laughed, "Ok Care, I'm on my way to see Ben. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Tell him hi," she sat up on the bed. "Bye Matty." She hung up the phone.
"Caroline," she heard from the living room. "The food's here."
"It's a boy," Caroline heard the doctor say, her eyes fixed on the ultra sound screen. She looked up at Klaus and smiled.
"It's a boy," she whispered.
"It's a boy," he said with a grin on his face. He leaned down and kissed Caroline.
"Oh wait," they heard the doctor say and Klaus stopped kissing her. Caroline and Klaus both looked at the screen and saw the doctor pointing at something.
"You see that," she said, looking at both of them. "That's a second heartbeat."
Caroline's mouth fell open, and her grip tightened on Klaus' hand, "what," she breathed.
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mikaeslon," Dr. Winters said smiling, "you're having twins."
Caroline sat up and stared at the screen. She didn't know what to say. She was going to have two kids, two. She looked at Klaus and he was smiling. He kissed her head.
"Thank you doctor," he smiled.
Dr. Winters smiled, wiping Caroline's stomach off.
Klaus walked with Caroline out of their clinic. He was beaming, but when he looked down at his wife to see her frowning.
He stopped, turning her toward him, "what's wrong Caroline?"
Caroline sighed looking up at Klaus, "there is going to be two of them Nik. I was freaked out at raising one child but two, at once. What if I'm a terrible mother?"
He chuckled and pulled into a hug, "oh sweetheart," he sighed. "You're the most loving person I know Caroline and when those boys come into this world they'll be smothered with it."
She laughed into his chest, "I'm scared Nik. I'm not ready."
Klaus nodded, rubbing her back, "I am too Caroline, but will figure this out together." He pulled back to look at her. He tipped her chin up, "We're in this together."
She smiled and leaned up to kiss him. Klaus wrapped her arm around Caroline's waist as he pulled her closer to him.
He pulled back, cupping her face, "now, can we go tell our friends the fantastic news?"
Caroline smiled, nodding.
"Good," he grabbed her hand and started walking down the street.
"Caroline!" she smiled seeing all of her friends at the door. They all rushed her and started hugging.
"Come in," she said, opening the door wider. She smiled seeing Bonnie and Kol, Elena and Damon, Matt and Ben, Jeremy and Anna, Lexi and Enzo, and Ian with his girlfriend Alexis.
Caroline smiled at Ian, "hey you."
He chuckled, pulling her into a hug, "the Warfield misses you. You're other reporters are good, but not Caroline good."
She laughed, patting him on the back before they walked into the living room to meet all the others.
Klaus walked up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her. He turned to Ian and smiled.
"Hey mate," he said holding out his hand.
Ian shook it, smiling, "Klaus."
Caroline smiled as Ian and Klaus started talking.
"How've you been Alexis?" Caroline smiled.
"Everything's good," she smiled. "Thanks for inviting us."
"Of course, make yourself comfortable," she smiled before turning toward the kitchen to see her friends setting up things and Ben roll up his sleeves. She walked in, "what can I help with?"
Ben smiled and took out some fresh herbs, "start chopping."
Caroline smiled as she sat on the bar stool and started to chop.
Lexi came around her and lightly punched her in the arm, "you're gone three weeks and you don't have the decency to call me," she said pouting.
She chuckled, "I told you before we left that might have been a possibility. I didn't check in with work or talk to Matt."
Lexi laughed, "Fine, I guess your forgiven based on that whole marrying my best friend thing."
Caroline laughed, "thank you."
Lexi nudged Caroline smirking, "sooo…what are we having," she whispered.
Caroline's eyes widen, "Shh…not yet."
Lexi shrugged, backing up and walking to the living room to see the guys.
Caroline started setting the table when Klaus walked up behind her. He kissed her shoulder, "need help?"
She smiled, "of course," she turned toward him. "Can you get the glasses and wine?"
Klaus smiled, pecking her lips before moving to the kitchen.
Ben put the food out on the table.
"Everyone come sit down, it's time to eat," Matt announced.
Caroline sat at one end of the table and Klaus sat at the other. He smiled at her as everyone handed around the dishes. Ben made a fresh cranberry apple salad and roasted chicken with red potatoes.
After everyone was dished out they all started chatting and spend the next hour catching up around the dinner table.
Caroline laughed before standing up, shaking her head at Kol as he talked of how he wowed Bonnie at work, but Bonnie disagreed and said the amount of flowers she got was ridiculous.
"What do you need sweetheart?" Klaus said, looking at his wife.
She smiled looked at Klaus waving his hand at her, "Just want some more juice."
He stood up, "Sit down, I'll get it." He placed his napkin on the table and made his way to the kitchen.
Caroline chuckled and sat down, looking around the table at all her friends.
"Caroline," Elena said picking up her glass of wine, "it's time to spill the details of the honeymoon."
She laughed, and smiled at Klaus and he filled her glass with some more apple juice, "thanks." He kissed her cheek and went back to the kitchen.
"Scratch that," Elena said, putting her elbows on the table. "Why are you drinking apple juice? You're never one to turn down a decent glass of wine."
Caroline smiled, taking a sip from her glass before placing it on the table, "Well 'Lena, since you brought it up so nicely," she chuckled, "I'm—
"You're pregnant!" Elena shouted, looking at her best friend for confirmation, when Caroline nodded she screams and jumped out of her chair. She rushed up to her and hugged her, "Oh my god Caroline, why didn't you tell me!"
Caroline laughed, but didn't have time to respond as Bonnie and Matt wrapped their arms around her too, she smiled as they just held her for a good minute. When they all finally pulled back she smiled at them.
"We found out before the wedding," she said, wiping the tears from her eyes. "I didn't want to tell anyone until we knew what we were having, and we found out today."
"Well?" they all asked in unison.
Caroline chuckled, when she felt Klaus' hands on her shoulders. She looked up at him and smiled. He nodded, before looking back at their friends and family.
"We're having twins," Klaus said, grinning.
Klaus held his wife's hand and let her squeeze it as tight as she could, "just breathe sweetheart."
"Nik I hate this," Caroline grumbled, letting her head fall back on the pillow in the hospital room. "I want these two kids out of me, now."
He chuckled and rubbed her cheek with his thumb, "I know love, and they'll be here soon," he wiped her hair from her forehead. "Just breathe."
Caroline squeezed her eyes shut and yelled as her body tensed through another contraction, releasing a breath when it was finally over.
"Caroline," Dr. Winters said, "You're going to need to start pushing now."
Caroline nodded taking a breath and started pushing, a scream escaping her lips. Klaus held her hand and didn't realize just how strong his wife was until she clenched it.
"Good," Dr. Winters said, "Breathe Caroline, and try again."
Caroline did as she was told, screaming as the pain surged through her. Dr. Winters shook her head and mumbled something to her nurse
Klaus stood up straight, "what is it?"
Dr. Winters stood up, "She's fully dilated and the babies are still not coming out. We're going to have to perform a C-section."
"What," Caroline said in a panic. "No, let me push Doctor. I can push."
Dr. Winters put a hand on Caroline's shoulder and squeezed, "Mrs. Mikaelson, your son's will be fine. Now please lay back."
Caroline looked at Klaus and felt the tears building in her eyes. He kissed her forehead, "it's ok love. Listen to the doctor."
"Mr. Mikaelson, if you intend on staying you need to put some scrubs on," Dr. Winters said, as they started to prep Caroline.
Klaus kissed his wife's hand, "I'll be right back sweetheart." He stepped forward and pulled Dr. Winters with him, "please," he said with pleading eyes, "tell me everything is going to be ok."
Dr. Winters squeezed his hand, "Klaus, get your scrubs on. Your wife will need you throughout this, and I promise with the best of my ability I will keep your family safe."
He nodded and followed a nurse to get changed. When Klaus returned, his wife was prepped and he walked up to her side and held her hand. He kissed Caroline' check and leaned next to her face, "I love you Caroline."
"I love you too Nik," she said lightly, the drugs clouding her mind.
Klaus put his hand on her cheek and smiled, "do you remember our first date?" He started to play with Caroline's fingers, "when you opened your apartment door in that flapper dress my heart almost stopped. All the flirting and time we spent together made me realize how much I really cared for you Caroline. But it was that moment, seeing your shy smile, and beautiful red lips that made me realize that you were mine, always and forever."
Klaus looked back up at his wife and saw a smile on her face. He leaned forward and kissed Caroline's cheek. Klaus intertwined their fingers and waited as the doctors worked. He was rubbing his thumb over Caroline's knuckles when he heard a whimper. Klaus stood up straight.
"Dr. Winters," he said. "What's going on?" He then saw a nurse walk toward him holding a baby wrapped in a blanket. Klaus stopped breathing as the nurse walked up to him and handed him the baby.
"It's a girl," she smiled.
"What," Klaus said happily, cradling the little girl in his arms. "Caroline," he turned toward his wife and saw her eyes were closed, the monitors started to beep wildly.
"Caroline," he said again, frantically, "Sweetheart."
"I'm sorry Mr. Mikaelson, you're going to have to leave," the nurse said, taking the baby from his arms.
Klaus shook his head, "No, what's going on." He stepped up to his wife and put his hand on her cheek, tapping lightly, "open your eyes darling."
"Mr. Mikaelson," a nurse shouted over the alarms going off, and grabbed him by the arm. "Security," she shouted again as Klaus pushed her off.
"No," he shouted, "get off me," he shoved at the security guards. "What is happening to my wife." He yelled as the security guards dragged him out of the door.
"Let go of me," Klaus growled, and before he could stop himself he twisted the security guards wrist, and flipped him over his shoulder. When the other one came at him, Klaus ducked and hit him in the stomach. Both security officers were on the floor.
Klaus turned back toward the room and walked in, he heard crying and looked toward the baby stations and saw two little bodies wiggling. He felt relief, but it soon faded when he looked back at his wife to see all the blood. His heart stopped, and tears filled his eyes.
"Caroline," he choked out, capturing the attention of the nurses.
"You can't be in here," the nurse said, blocking Klaus from the view.
"No please," Klaus said as he pushed against the nurse, "is she alive," he looked at the nurse.
The nurse just pushed at Klaus' chest to take him outside. Klaus didn't fight as the nurse pushed him out of the room.
"Please Mr. Mikaelson, just wait out here," the nurse said before rushing back inside the room.
Before Klaus could protest, he heard the door lock click. Klaus couldn't hold in the tears, he collapsed and started to cry.
"You know it's your bedtime young lady," Klaus said to the little girl drawing on at the kitchen table. He smiled when she looked up at him grinning. He walked up to her and kissed the top of her head, "five more minutes sweetheart or else you won't get a bedtime story."
"Thanks daddy," she said with her head low to the table.
Klaus walked to the fridge and took out the jug of milk when he felt something run into his legs and squeeze. He chuckled looking down to find his son hugging his legs. Klaus put the milk down on the counter and grabbed his son.
"I thought I tucked you in already," he smiled, holding his son in one arm and grabbing the milk with the other.
"It's not fair that Ari gets to stay up late," the little boy said, messing with Klaus' shirt collar.
Klaus chuckled, "alright, fair point." He kissed his son on the fore head and put him down. "Would you like some milk?"
"Yeah!" the boy said happily, running up to the table to sit down by his sister.
Klaus smiled and took down two cups from the cupboard and filled them with milk. He popped them in the microwave for 15 seconds, just to warm them up a bit. He didn't understand why his kids liked warmed milk, but that always did the trick before bedtime.
Klaus placed the cups in front of them, "drink up. You're both due for bed in two minutes." Klaus put everything away, and leaned against the counter looking at his children. Nikoli Henrik Mikaelson and Arianna Serena Mikaelson were born May 16, five years ago.
Klaus smiled as his kids finished their milk. Arianna gave her brother a few crayons, and they both started to work on the drawing she started. He chuckled and looked at his watch. "Ok you two, it's after nine and you two need to get to bed."
"Daddy we're almost done," Arianna said, holding a crayon.
He smiled, kneeling down in front of her. He took the crayon out her hand and put it on the table. "Sweetheart, you're uncles are coming over tomorrow. You want to have enough energy to play with your cousins don't you?" She smiled, nodding her head. Klaus kissed her forehead and stood up. "Good, it's time for bed." He picked her up and leaned over for his son.
Klaus walked them into their room, he laughed at how his daughter started playing with his hair. He put his son on his bed, and then his daughter. He tucked them in and pulled a chair between the beds.
"What story do you want to hear tonight?" he asked, smiling at his kids.
"The Wild Things," Nikoli shouted.
"Lorax," Arianna countered.
He chuckled walking up to their small bookshelf, "what about we compromise and I'll read…Curious George."
"Yeah," his kids say happily. He smiled, sitting down in the chair. He looked up at his kids, watching them snuggle under their blankets. He opened the book to the first page, "Curious George," he said.
"I love Curious George." Klaus smiled and turned his head toward the door.
"Mommy!" Caroline smiled, dropping her purse on the floor as her kids jumped out of bed and attacked her. She laughed, hugging them. She kissed their cheeks, "Oh I missed you, my babies."
"Mommy, where you been?" Arianna asked, pulling at Caroline's curls.
"Oh sweetheart I'm sorry. Mommy was working," Caroline smiled, pushing her daughter's hair out of her face. She kissed her nose. She has Klaus' hair and eyes.
"Mommy, we colored today," Nikoli said happily.
"Really, oh that sounds great," she said, kissing Nikoli on the cheek. He has Caroline's hair and eyes.
Klaus laughed, walking up to his family. "Alright kids, let your mum breathe. It's time for bed." Klaus picked up Arianna and Caroline picked up Nikoli.
They tucked their kids back in. Caroline stood up and smiled at Klaus. She leaned over and pecked him on the lips, "hey."
Klaus smiled, rubbing his wife's back, "sweetheart." He grabbed her hand and walked back to the chair. He sat down and pulled his wife down to his lap. "Where were we?"
"George!" the kids said. Caroline laughed, nodding her head. She opened the book, and Klaus held the other side. Caroline started to read.
"This is George. He lived in Africa. He was a good little monkey and always very curious. One day George saw a man. He had on a large yellow straw hat. The man saw George too.
"'What a nice little monkey,' he thought. 'I would like to take him home with me.'
"He put his hat on the ground and, of course, George was curious. He came down from the tree to look at the large yellow hat."
Caroline and Klaus read through the rest of the first chapter before she looked up from the book. She smiled, happy to see that her kids were finally sleeping. She sighed, leaning her head on Klaus' shoulder, "they're asleep."
He nodded, wrapping his arms around her, "thanks to mummy."
Caroling chuckled, shaking her head, "nope, tonight was all daddy." She looked at him, pecking his lips.
Klaus smiled, rubbing Caroline's back. He put her head back on his shoulder, kissing the top of her head, "everything ok at the office?"
She snuggled into Klaus' neck, "it was a long night," she mumbled.
Klaus chuckled, running his hand up and down her back. He squeezed her thigh, "did you eat?"
Caroline nodded, yawning. "I had a spring salad with chicken at my desk, and a bowl of fruit," she said softly, readjusting in Klaus' lap.
He nodded, pulling her close. "Let's get you to bed sweetheart," Klaus said, chuckling when Caroline groaned. He picked her up, earning a squeak of surprise from Caroline. He laughed, kissing her forehead.
Caroline wrapped her arms around his neck. "Get the light sweetheart," Klaus whispered in her ear. She hit the light with her foot, and Klaus continued toward their bed room. He put her on the bed, kissing her head. Caroline groaned and wrapped her arms around him and pulled him down on top of her.
He chuckled, hovering over her, "Mrs. Mikaelson."
Caroline looked at him and smirked. She ran his hands down his shoulders, resting them on his waist, "Mr. Mikaelson," she smiled. "Did you have a good day?"
Klaus leaned down and kissed his wife's cheek, moving to nip her ear. He smirked at the way she moaned and thrusts her hips against him as he kissed down her neck. "It's better now that you're home," he mumbled against her throat.
Caroline giggled as Klaus sucked on her neck. She arched toward him and let her hands run under his shirt. She racked her nails along his back, causing Klaus to suck in a breath.
"Oh sweetheart," Klaus sighed, pulling back to look at her. He smiled, pushing the hair from her cheek, "I love you."
She smiled, "I love you too." Caroline brought her hands to Klaus' neck and pulled him into a kiss.
Klaus deepened the kiss, groaning when Caroline sucked on his tongue. He rolled them over so Caroline was on top. She sat up, grinding her hips against him. He rested his hands on her hips, smiling at how her hair curled around her face.
"You're so beautiful," Klaus said, his fingers pushing into her.
Caroline smiled, "Nik, always the charmer." She pulled her hair to the side, leaned down, and started to kiss his neck. She smiled at the way Klaus shivered when she nipped at his skin with her teeth. Caroline moaned when Klaus lifted his hips and she felt his erection press into her.
Klaus gripped onto Caroline's hips and started to rock with her as she kissed his neck. He growled when she sucked on his Adam's apple. He pulled her to him and kissed her, hard.
Caroline moaned and grinded her hips against Klaus, she sat up, breaking their kiss. She tugged at her blouse, pulling it out from her jeans. She smiled at Klaus as she started to slowly unbutton her blouse.
He smirked at her, his hands going to her shoulders to slip the blouse off. He sat up and kissed her. Caroline wrapped her arms around him, and let her fingers get tangled in his hair.
"Mommy," Caroline pushed Klaus away and grabbed her shirt. Klaus groaned and sat up, putting a pillow on his lap. She looked at their door and saw Arianna holding the door knob.
"Hey sweetheart," she said, smiling while she buttoned her shirt. "What's wrong?"
Ariana wiped tears away from her eyes, "I had a bad dream."
Caroline frowned and opened her arms, "come here baby." Arianna ran at their bed and crawled up to Caroline. Caroline wrapped her arms around her daughter, holding her tight.
She kissed her head and rubbed her back, "shhh, it's ok sweetie. It was just a dream." She smiled when Klaus kissed Arianna's head. He looked up at Caroline and smiled.
He leaned over and pecked her lips, "I'll go check on Niko." Caroline nodded, pulling her daughter under the blankets.
Klaus walked into their kids' bedroom, and Nikoli was still fast asleep. He smiled, walked up to his son and kissed him on the forehead. He flipped on the nightlight between the twins' bed and walked back to his room.
