I apologize for taking so long with this update. I had intended to get this up this past weekend, but the internet was crappy due to the weather. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT MEANS ALOT!

Dedicated to: Wandering Lady who inspired me to write this chapter!

Please remember to review at the end! :)

The sound of metal being pounded by a hammer resounded through the room of the God of Fire. Sweat formed on his brow, as Stefan pounded the metal to form a chest plate. Commissioned by Elijah, it was to be indestructible, and made specifically to reflect any weapons thrown his way.

It was just another show piece, really, but work was work, and Stefan didn't complain. It kept his mind occupied, and off of her.

He pounded the metal in front of him, and sweat fell from his brow onto the armor in front of him. With each drop, the armor strengthened, and became more invincible than before, adding from the strength forged in the fire.

His brow furrowed with each pound, and he became so focused on the armor, that he never heard his name being called, until he paused in his work.

He lifted his head, and frowned, as he saw his brother standing next to the forge with an irritating look on his face.

"What are you doing here, Damon?" He asked, placing the armor into the water.

Damon sighed, and approached him. "I want to know why you left the party." He asked, stopping next to him.

Stefan chuckled, and shook his head. "You know why." He replied, darkly.

Damon rolled his eyes, and folded his arms over his chest. "You didn't even speak to her, Stefan." He remarked, watching his brother still as he lifted the armor out of the water.

"I did." Stefan whispered, placing the armor on the anvil once more, and gave it a few pounds, before placing it in the coals, and then into the water once more.

Damon shook his head, and sighed. "You ran away again, Stefan." He replied, sternly.

Stefan lifted his gaze to Damon and shook his head. "I didn't run, Damon." He returned, moving away from the armor for a moment. "I had work to do." He added, picking up a ladle of water, and drinking from it.

Damon scoffed, and shook his head. "No, dear brother, you ran, and used your work as an excuse and in doing so, you hurt her." He replied, pointing a finger at Stefan.

Stefan dropped the ladle, and turned to his brother with semi-wide eyes. "How could I hurt her?" He asked, watching Damon laugh coldly.

"She loves you, Stefan." Damon answered, watching Stefan freeze, holding the piece of armor in mid-air.

Stefan snapped out of his trance, and shook his head, as he turned and began examining the armor. "She doesn't love me." He whispered, trying to focus on the armor.

Damon smirked, and leaned forward. "Doesn't or shouldn't?" He asked, watching his brother carefully.

Stefan slammed his hammer down on the ground. "She can't!" He yelled, glaring at his brother, the fires of the furnace getting hotter and springing outward.

Damon straightened up, and crossed his arms once more. "Why? Because you won't let her." He demanded, his blue eyes flashing like the waves of the sea.

Stefan slammed his right hand on the anvil, and bowed his head. "It's dangerous to love me, Damon." He whispered, shaking his head, after a moment.

Damon shrugged. "Well, it can't be that dangerous, because I love you." He remarked, quirking his brow, and sending Stefan a smirk when he lifted his head.

"You're my brother, Damon." Stefan stated, simply, straightening.

Damon nodded, and dropped his arms to his side. "Yes, I am, and as your brother, I know firsthand how hard it's been for you, Stefan." He paused, trying to remain calm. "Rebekah is a wonderful woman, and she cares deeply for you, though I don't understand why." He replied, smirking, showing Stefan that he was kidding at the last statement.

Stefan shook his head, and turned away from his brother. "I have work to finish." He remarked, softly.

Damon sighed, and bowed his head. "Well, then, you can't say I didn't try." He replied, stepping back. "One day, dear brother, you will thank me for this." He added, smiling when Stefan turned around to look at him with questions on his face.

"Thank you for what?" He asked, narrowing his eyes as Damon smiled wider, and more devilish.

"You'll see." Damon replied, disappearing in a blue light.

Stefan shook his head, trying not to think about it too much. He picked up his hammer from the floor, when a throat cleared behind him.

Slowly, he turned around, and nodded to the man standing at the door.

"Matt." He replied, taking in the man dressed in a light blue vest and matching pants with dirty blonde hair. He didn't think too much about Matt's appearance, who always wore something to signify his position as a Messenger.

Matt nodded, and approached him, holding out his hand to reveal a parchment inside. "Your presence is requested by the Oracle." He replied, professionally.

Stefan frowned, and took the parchment from Matt's hand. Opening it, he frowned deeper as the words began to hit him with an unpleasant feeling.

Stefan,

I would very much like to see you today. Something has arisen and I wish to discuss this matter with you. Please come as soon as you can.

Bonnie Bennett, Oracle of Mystic Falls

Stefan sighed, and folded the letter, groaning as he stretched his left arm slightly. "Tell her, I'll be there by this afternoon." He replied, watching Matt nod.

"I will." Matt responded, backing up, and disappeared in a small flash of light.

Stefan sighed, and rubbed his left arm with his right hand. He tried to massage the pain he felt away, but closed his eyes when the pain remained constant.

Something had definitely arisen, but Stefan wasn't sure if he wanted to know about it.

Rebekah walked along the quiet stream leading from the waterfall named after the town, or should she say vice versa. She sighed, as she gazed upon the quiet rolls of the water, and the light reflecting off the top of the water.

Moments like this were the times she truly treasured. No demands or requests from her followers. No one telling her who she should love or not to love.

She sighed, and folded her arms over her chest. The wind began to blow, and her blonde hair flew behind her head. The chiffon material of her dress clung to the front portion of her body as the wind continued to blow, giving anyone who was watching a beautiful look at her.

"M'lady."

She turned around, and pushed her hair from her face. She smiled faintly. "Matt."

Matt bowed his head, and smiled at her. "I have a message for you, Rebekah."

She nodded, and smiled at him.

He lifted his hand, and handed her a parchment. "It's urgent." He replied, waiting for her to open it.

She nodded in understanding, and opened the parchment.

Rebekah,

There is a matter for which we need to discuss, today if possible.

Please come as soon as you can.

Bonnie Bennett, Oracle of Mystic Falls

Rebekah nodded, folded the paper. "Tell her, I'll be there soon." She replied, with no emotion.

Matt nodded, and disappeared in a flash of light once again.

She sighed, and bowed her head. Turning her head to the river, she felt a tear fall down her face. Quickly, she wiped it away, and she cleared her throat.

"No more tears." She whispered, bowing her head before lifting it high, and disappeared from the river.

Bonnie placed her hands in front of her face, and closed her eyes as she paced around the room. She sighed, finally turning to the man leaning against the wall.

"This won't work with you here when they show up, Damon." She scolded, watching him lift his brow in amusement.

He pushed away from the wall, and approached her. "Hey, Judgy, remember whose idea this was." He replied, looking into her green eyes.

She rolled her eyes, and shook her head, her brown hair, cropped short just below her ears, flew lightly. She was dressed in a long dress, which was customary for the Oracle, but sometimes she liked to break with tradition, and wear skinny jeans and tunics.

Since becoming the Oracle at the young age of eight, Bonnie was tasked to giving out prophesies taken from the God of Prophesy. Needless to say, the ritual had been very tasking on both of them, and ended with resentment for both parties, well, semi-resentment.

She sent a glare towards Damon, and moved away from him. "I remember, but that doesn't mean you need to be here." She stated, firmly. "I can take care of it." She added, sending him a glare over her shoulder.

He smirked, and approached her carefully. "I know you can, Bonnie." He whispered, lowering his head to her ear.

She smiled, and pursed her lips together. "Then what are you really doing here, Damon?" She asked, searching his blue eyes.

He shrugged, and smirked. "Can't I just come and see you, Judgy." He replied using the nickname he always called her when they bickered.

She smirked, and let out a small chuckle. Before she became the Oracle, she always thought that the Gods of Mystic Falls were full of themselves, and only cared about their own kind. When she discovered she was one of them, or at least a counterpart of them, she felt as if the nickname matched her attitude.

"You really need to leave, Damon." She whispered, moving away from him to sit in the large silver throne on a small platform.

Damon smiled, and bowed his head. "I'll come back afterwards, Judgy." He replied, sending her a wink, watching her smile, and shake her head.

Bonnie sighed as Damon disappeared, and her smile faded. Many of the Gods thought that she was the one who could tame Damon, but she wasn't the one. She knew that for a fact. She had seen the woman who would, so that made her feel a deep sadness, since it wouldn't be her.

Since becoming the Oracle, Damon had been her only friend, granted they bickered and disagreed, but he was the only one who supported her and believed in her.

It broke her heart to think that it could change when he met the one.

"I'll never understand what you see in that man."

She frowned, and held back a shiver as the voice came from the arm of her chair. She turned her head, and leaned her left arm on the chair as she glared at the man who appeared next to her, sitting on the right arm of the chair.

"What do you want, Kol?" She asked, watching him smirk, and look down at her.

"I came to see if you needed any assistance from yours truly." He replied, placing his right hand on his chest.

She scoffed, and stood up. "The only thing I need from you is for you to stay away from me." She stated, walking away from him.

He smirked, and followed her. "Awe, come on, Bonnie, you don't mean that." He replied, stopping when she whirled around to face him.

"I do mean it, Kol." She stated, her green eyes flaring.

He smiled, and slowly approached her. "You didn't answer my question." He whispered, bending his head.

She stepped back, but only a fraction, as she felt his breathe on her face. "He's a friend, which is more than I can say for you." She replied, moving away from him.

Kol frowned, and turned to watch her walk back to her throne. "You still blame me, don't you?" He asked, watching her freeze as she stepped up on the platform, and placed her hand on the throne.

She bowed her head for a moment, before shaking it. "I don't." She whispered, but when she heard him scoff, she turned her body to face him.

Kol's face held anger, and disbelief. "I don't believe you." He replied, without emotion, but Bonnie read the emotion in his eyes.

She shrugged her shoulders. "Believe what you want to believe, Kol, or you just believe in what you see in prophesies." She remarked, watching him scowl.

He stormed towards her, and watched her straighten her back at the movement. "Damn you." He replied, searching her eyes. "You know damn well that I no longer possess the power to see, because of you." He replied, through clenched teeth.

She sighed. "It wasn't my fault, Kol." She replied, searching his eyes.

He smirked. "Maybe, but here's a news flash, Oracle," He began, leaning down, causing her to swallow hard. "What happened wasn't my fault either." He added, feeling a power he couldn't understand him, fill him up at her nearness.

Bonnie held her breathe for a moment, but didn't back down as his head inched closer, until it was a breath away.

She felt every nerve in her body alight with fire, as his lips stayed suspended just inches away from hers.

The doors to the room creaked, causing both of them to pull back. Kol smirked down at her, but his eyes held a softness she had never seen before.

"One day, you'll learn the truth, Oracle." He whispered, disappearing in a flash, leaving her breathless and curious.

Bonnie straightened, and put her serious face on, as her hands clasped nervously in front of her. She smiled lightly as she saw Rebekah enter the room with her pink chiffon robes flowing behind her as she walked gracefully towards her.

Bonnie nodded, and noted the vervain wreath, usually circling Rebekah's head, was missing. She bowed her head as she realized why. Vervain signified life, and Rebekah was in mourning for a love she had yet to discover.

"Bonnie, how are you?" Rebekah asked, politely.

Bonnie nodded, and smiled lightly. "I'm doing well, and you?" She asked, watching Rebekah's gaze turn to sadness.

"I've been better." She replied, dipping her head.

Bonnie nodded, and lifted her right hand. "Will you follow me please?" She asked, walking down the narrow hall, towards a room at the end.

Slowly she opened the door, and motioned for Rebekah to enter. "Will you please wait here for me, while I retrieve something?" She asked, calmly.

Rebekah nodded, and watched as Bonnie nod to reassure her, but she couldn't help but feel that something wasn't right.

As she entered the room, fire lit the room, and she realized she was inside the library of the Oracle, the place where all prophesies from past to present to future were held. She turned her head, when the door closed, and her eyes widened as she heard the door lock.

She rushed towards the door, and grasped the handle. "Bonnie?!" She shouted, as the knob refused to turn.

Stepping back, she tried to use her powers to open it, but the door refused to move. She sighed, and stepped back, thinking that Bonnie would show up soon, and get her out of here.

Maybe.

~XXX~

Bonnie smiled as Stefan entered the room, and she lifted her right hand. She knew of his aversion to the Bennetts, and granted she was related to them, but she knew he respected her, for she never pushed prophesies on him, nor did she pity him. She always treated him as a friend, and with respect.

For that he respected her, but not her job.

She lifted her right hand, and motioned him to follow her. She watched with a pain in her heart as he limped his way towards her.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted your work, Stefan." She apologized, clasping her hands in front of her.

Stefan shook his head. "It's alright, Bonnie." He returned, calmly, though she read the frustration in his tone.

She nodded, and approached the door. "I must ask if you will wait in here. I'm afraid there is something I must attend to before we speak." She replied, watching him nod.

"That's okay." He returned, firmly.

She nodded, and opened the door. As soon as he entered, she closed the door, and locked it with the power she held.

She sighed, and turned to quickly leave the hallway, and quickly prayed that it would work.

~XXX~

Stefan tried everything to open the door, but soon realized that nothing would work.

"Looks like we're stuck in here."

He stiffened, as he recognized her voice. He clamped his eyes shut, and slowly turned around. His heart began to pound in his chest as he saw her standing in front of a shelf of books.

Rebekah closed a book, and placed it back on the shelf as she approached him. "The doors are lined with Vervain, which means only a Bennett can open them." She remarked, pointing to the door.

Stefan nodded, and held his tongue.

She pushed her blonde hair behind her ear with her right hand, and slowly dropped it to her side. "So, I guess, we should make the best of it." She replied, with a small smile.

Stefan gritted his teeth. That was what he was afraid of.

I hope you enjoyed this one!

I have placed on my profile the titles for the rest of the mythology series and the couples focused on them, if you want to check it out!

I have the next chapter partly written. I have a few things to add to it, but it shouldn't take long to get it finished.

Until Next Time...
