For reasons I can't explain, I don't feel completely satisfied with this chapter, so it may be tweaked later, but for now this will have to do!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME! :)

Please review at the end! :)

Her heart and her body ached as the fire blazed around her, though it didn't touch her, but that didn't stop it from threatening her.

Her tired eyes scanned the room for any sign of Silas, and with a smile, she realized that he was not here. Closing her eyes, she focused on the love in her heart.

If she could somehow call out to Stefan, warn him, and then maybe, just maybe, she could save them both.

Klaus jerked the bidents in his hand, and closed his eyes as they activated. Clutching Caroline's, he leaned forward, and kissed her forehead with tenderness that made his heart ache even more.

"Please, don't make me do this." He whispered, letting a tear roll down his cheek. "Please, Caroline, tell me there is another way." He added, kissing her cheek. "Please…"

Though he begged, no answer was heard from her lips, and his heart broke even more.

"Forgive me, my love." He whispered, backing away, and started to raise the bidents.

Tears blurred his vision, and he tried to focus, but no clear sight was available. Like his heart, his vision was destroying him.

Stefan stopped at the edge of the fire, and inhaled the smoke, determining from the scent that it was under the control of someone else, but he could feel it pulling towards him, and that made him smile.

Closing his eyes, he bowed his head, and tried to reach her, sense her.

He had heard if two people truly loved each other, and gave their hearts to the other, then a connection was made.

He didn't know the mechanics of it, but it was enough to make him believe he could reach out to her, letting her know that he was on his way.

"Rebekah, please, don't give up." He whispered, as the fire blazed around him. "I'm coming." He vowed, urgency lining his words.

One the flames of the fire, he heard her voice, and it made him open his eyes. "Rebekah," He whispered, chokingly.

Though he couldn't see her, he could hear her, and her words made his heart tighten in his chest.

"I vow for all eternity that my heart and soul belongs to Stefan, God of Fire. I love him deeper than the deepest well, and hotter than the hottest fire. I will not give in to another."

Stefan swallowed, and knew the words she spoke had power to them, and he knew what that power held. Inhaling deeply, he opened his mouth with a strong force.

"I vow here and now that my heart and soul belongs to Rebekah, Goddess of Love. I love her stronger than the strongest steel, and brighter than the brightest flame. I will not love another."

In that instant, a cry could be heard through the fire, and he clutched his chest with right hand, dropping the hammer for a moment. He felt his heart pound harder and stronger than before, and felt the fire in front of him weaken.

A smile touched his lips as he realized what had happened.

He had given in to the prophesy, and accepted his love.

Klaus felt the tears wet his cheeks as he raised Caroline's bident up, and aimed it at her chest. His hands shook as he gazed at her face, and let out a shout before dropping the bident next to her.

"I can't do it, love." He whispered, shaking his head. "I can't stab you for fear that I will kill you. I can't." He added, his body beginning to shake as he bowed his head to touch her waist.

He vaguely heard the hum of the bident on the bed, and slowly his lifted his head to find Caroline's bident glowing in a way that reminded him of the moment when he killed Alexander and Alaric.

"What the…" He whispered, lifting his eyes to her face, and slowly he began to understand.

The bident was pulling the fire from its mistress's body.

It was saving her.

~XXX~

Rebekah smiled to herself as her heart began to beat stronger than before as if it was beating for two, and she knew why.

She had made the vow. The vow that bonded her to the man she loved, and no one could break that vow.

Not even Silas, and that made it all worth it.

"Stefan…"

~XXX~

Stefan's eyes narrowed as he looked over the fire blocking the entrance to a cave, and he rolled his eyes.

It always had to be a cave.

Lifting the hammer, he commanded the fire to recede, and smiled as the fire weakened long enough for him to break through before it built up again.

He let out a small breath of relief, and his eyes began to search for openings or anyplace that could possibly hold his love.

"I should have known you would find a way to enter through the fire. After all, you got your power from me, didn't you?"

Stefan's back tensed as the words drifted to his ears, and the hammer began to burn in his hand. "Where is she?" He demanded, moving his eyes around the room.

Silas chuckled, and stepped out of the darkness, his face becoming illuminated by the fire leaking into the room. "Safe, for the moment, awaiting our wedding." He answered, taking pleasure in Stefan's shocked look, which quickly melted into anger. "Didn't the 'fates' tell you?" He asked, roughly. "Mikael promised her to me when her birth was foretold." He added, with a smile. "That was of course before you were seen by the fates, and ruined everything." He concluded, his smile melted into anger.

Stefan swallowed, and shook his head. "I didn't ask for this, Silas." He stated, lifting the hammer a fraction.

Silas frowned, and shook his head. "No, but you accepted it." He raged, letting his eyes fill with flames. "You took away everything, and now, it's my turn." He added, with a sneer, and snapped his fingers.

On the far wall, Rebekah appeared, with her hair sticking to her face, her clothes scorched in certain places, and her skin red from being too close to the flames.

Silas hadn't protected her from the flames.

With that thought, the hammer burned in Stefan's hand, and his anger increased tenfold.

~XXX~

Klaus moved his eyes to the bident as it began to glow red, and started to absorb the flames from Caroline's body.

His left hand moved to her forehead as she began to moan in pain, though she didn't wake up. His other hand moved to her left hand, and with tears rolling down his face, he called out to her, not with words, but with his heart.

She had to survive.

~XXX~

Rebekah let out a shaky breath, and smiled, weakly towards Stefan. "I'm alright, my love." She mouthed, watching his face relax, only a fraction.

"Let her go, Silas, you're killing her." Stefan remarked, motioning to the burns appearing on her skin from being too close to the flames.

Silas shrugged. "What's a few burns?" He asked, stepping around Stefan in a predatory manner. "That will make her less appealing to others." He added, with a dark chuckle.

Stefan's eyes flashed, and he whipped around slamming the hammer into Silas' stomach as he did so. "She'll always be beautiful." He stated, as Silas bent over from the pain. "And by the way, there will be no others, because she's my wife." He added, bringing the hammer up to slam it in Silas' face.

Silas staggered back, and managed to gain his footing, as he touched his nose with his right hand, before glaring at Stefan. "Wife?" He asked in disbelief.

Stefan smirked, and rolled the hammer in his hand with ease. "Yes," He returned, lifting the hammer up, and let the flames engulf the head, before swinging it at Silas' head.

Silas ducked the advance, and stood up, stronger as he summoned an object from the flames behind him.

With a bright flash, the flames formed a long sword in his hands. "We'll see about that." He muttered, swinging the sword towards Stefan's body, colliding it with the hammer.

Stefan staggered back, hearing Rebekah scream his name. "She'll always be mine, Silas. We made the vow." He stated, firmly, pushing Silas back, thankful for all those centuries forging metal.

Silas shook his head. "How quickly you forget that I was first, and I will be last." He stated, twirling the sword in his hands.

Stefan shook his head. "Not this time." He remarked, stopping Silas' advance, and finally slammed the hammer down onto Silas' shoulder, cracking the bone, and pushed him down, knocking him out for the moment.

Shaking his head, he turned, and raced towards her. With mild ease, he released the chains, and sighed as she collapsed in his arms. "I heard the vow."

She laughed through her tears, and held him close, threading her fingers through his hair. "I heard yours." She remarked, pulling back enough to touch her lips to his, and placed her forehead on his for a soft, gentle moment.

"I've got to get you out of here." He replied, roughly, pulling her to his side, helping her as they started towards the opening of the cave.

"Going somewhere?"

~XXX~

Klaus smiled, faintly through his tears, watching as the fire became absorbed into the bidents.

As the remaining flames entered the bidents, Klaus held onto her hand as he waited.

Waited for her to open her eyes.

"Caroline…" He whispered, waiting, hoping, and wishing she would open her eyes.

Lifting her bident in his hand, he set it against the wall, and moved back to her, just as he sat down beside her, her eyes opened.

~XXX~

Stefan stiffened, and pushed her behind his body, protecting her from what may come.

"Leave her alone." He stated, roughly.

Silas shook his head, and raised his hands, with the sword resting in his palms, tightly. "Vow or no vow, she will be mine." He stated, swinging the sword towards them, and smiled, widely when the sword cut through Stefan's shirt, and cut his chest, deep.

Stefan screamed, and staggered back, dropping the hammer to the ground, clutching his chest, trying to seal the wound, but found it fruitless.

Rebekah cried out, and reached for him, only to lay him down, beside the hammer.

Lifting her eyes, anger reflecting in them. "You son of a bitch." She ground out, slowly standing, and let her hand reach for the hammer.

Silas smirked with satisfaction. "I love the fire inside you, my dear, but the moment, I prefer not to hear it." He stated, reaching his hand forward, calling to the flames behind her.

Rebekah shook her head, and held the hammer in her hand, a sense of protectiveness and love surged through her, and began to fuel the hammer.

Silas' eyes widened, and he began to shake his head. "That's impossible."

She shook her head. "No, it's love." She remarked, swinging the hammer, and letting the force extend from her body flow through the hammer, and slammed into Silas' body, hard. Hard enough to slam him against the wall.

He slid down the wall, and shook his head, trying to snap out of his daze.

Rebekah stepped around Stefan's body, and gritted her teeth. "You deserve worse than this." She remarked, glancing behind her, and frowned as Stefan rolled his head to look at her with a look of longing. "This is for Stefan." She added in a low whisper. Lifting the hammer high, she brought it down, and slammed it into his sword, shattering the flaming metal with a loud bang.

Pieces of the sword imbedded in his chest, and with a push of the hammer, the metal shards, began to erupt within his body, burning him from the inside out.

She stepped back, watching him burn from the inside out, and found her heart fill with satisfaction, as she realized this was how Stefan's mother had died, and now, it was Silas' fate.

Burned by the flames he once controlled.

Please be kind!

I hope you enjoyed this, even though I'm not entirely happy with it, but anyways...

This means that there is one more chapter left! Yes, I know, but I think this would be the best ending for this! One story ends, and another begins!

Next Chapter: Reunions and Healing (Also, a sneak peek of the next story in the Mythology series: Kol and Bonnie's story! Finally!)

Until Next Time...
