Harry Potter belongs to JK Rowling. Apologies for the short chapter and the long wait. I was locked out of my account and email...
Chapter 5
"Rona!" called James as he spotted the girl hovering at the entrance of the Great Hall. Sirius and Remus followed him as he hurried over to her. "Are you going into breakfast?"
"No, James, I was waiting for you. I need to speak with you…" she trailed off as James grabbed her hand and dragged her into the Great Hall.
Despite her being the mature one, it was obvious that James was stronger as he pulled her in and sat her down between him and Sirius. Corona flushed at the rather sudden entrance.
"Okay, talk," James grinned. He knew it would fluster her, she never enjoyed being dragged around. Corona rolled her eyes. "What?" he grinned again as he piled bacon onto his plate.
"James, don't eat so much," she scolded gently as she herself watched everyone eat. "I meant to tell you that you shouldn't pick on Severus Snape so much. He and Lily Evans are best friends, and if you keep harming him so much, then Lily wouldn't like it very much, would she? And also, there is no reason to hate him so much, it isn't his fault if you continue to pick on him without any reason. It's only natural to fight back, and apparently, the only reason he hasn't harmed you so much is because Lily is too kind for it."
"But Rona…"
"I won't give you presents even if it's your birthday for a year," Corona warned. "Don't test me, James, your hatred for all things Slytherin is going overboard. At least stop picking on individuals."
He pouted at her. She ignored him as she glanced around. Corona could do the impossible, which is why he loved her presents so much…so fun!
"Fine," he relented. "Did you eat breakfast yet?"
"No."
He waited. Nothing.
"Then eat some bloody breakfast!" Sirius declared.
"Language," she automatically reprimanded. "And I decided to skip breakfast as I'm not feeling very hungry."
James grinned at Sirius' gaping face. Corona had always been a very light eater, sipping some soup, eating a slice of toast…never very much.
"Seriously, Corona, you need to eat," James told her as he stuffed his face.
"…Fine," she sighed, reaching out and snatching a slice of toast. "But James, I'm a Ravenclaw. I can't sit at the Gryffindor table."
"It doesn't really matter, Rona," he protested.
"Sorry, James, I'll see you later," called Corona as she fluidly stood and hurried over to the Ravenclaw table, almost colliding with Flitwick. "Oh! I am so sorry, Professor! Are you alright?" she asked worriedly.
"Yes, yes, thank you, Ms. Potter!" he squeaked up at her. "I see you've been busy! Here is your time-table and schedule for the week. If you have any problems, you know where to find me!"
"Thank you, Professor," she smiled at the professor only slightly shorter than her.
"Of course, of course," he called back with a smile as he left.
Sighing, Corona quickly strode over to the Ravenclaw table, glancing at her schedule as she sat down.
"Herbology sounds fun, but why is Astronomy so late?" she murmured to herself.
As most of the Ravenclaws started heading back to the tower, she followed them, slipping ahead and answering the riddle just as they came into view.
"The more I dry, the wetter I get," the eagle statue had riddled at her request.
"Towel."
And so began Corona Potter's first day of class.
