I just realized it's been almost (at the time) a year since the last update. Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm going to (try) to come back to School Rumble entirely, downloading the entire series once more just so I can get my motivation for it back.
Anyways, previously Harima and Sarah undertook Mikoto's confession, but she left because of technical difficulties and they couldn't bless Mikoto. Now, we shall hear another confession.
XoXoX
Confession 4
Hanai
Sarah walked along in a slump. After getting distracted by Eri, she couldn't locate Mikoto and Harima still didn't show up with a box of confetti. So she decided to search again after once the day goes on or after the next confession; whichever comes first. So upon reaching the Confession Booth. She opened it with a sigh and saw Harima sitting in the corner, completely pale, holding his knees, and his bang lowered.
"What's wrong with you?" She asked non-considerate.
Harima continued to rock himself, "Someone stole my pudding." He muttered.
Sarah sighed. On the way back, she grabbed a couple more snacks, among them were several puddings. So she threw a pack at him and immediately, Harima regained his color, let go of his knees, and his bang snapped back into place.
While he happily opened a pack and began eating again, Sarah just sat down and placed her elbow on a ledge and rested her head on her hand, sighing after she got herself settled. She glanced sideways to Harima whom she was expecting him to ask her what's wrong. Instead, he only ignored her in favor of the pudding he was eating. She sighed again, but this time louder in hopes of getting his attention. However, she was met with a similar predicament of him ignoring her in favor of the pudding. Annoyed, she cleared her throat loudly while smacking him lightly at the side.
Finally looking away from his pudding, Harima glanced at her, "What's wrong with you?" He asked before going back to his pudding.
"Eri distracted me and I lost Mikoto." She mentioned. She looked at him again, "Not that it would matter if I did catch up to her as you didn't show up with the box of confetti." She added.
Harima wiped his mouth with his arm, "Sorry, I was distracted with something." He answered and let out a quiet burp.
Sarah narrowed her eyes at him, "You were lamenting the loss of your pudding." She pointed out.
He then looked at her, "Hey! I was hungry. I felt like I didn't eat for a full year!" He protested. (AN: I swear this has nothing to do with the author's absence.)
Sara had to agree with him on that part. From here to looking for Mikoto, it felt like the universe had just decided to stop for a while. (AN: Okay, I'm going to stop that.)
Before any of them could comprehend of their place and existence of being within the universe that seems to stop every now and than, someone walked in!
"Hello?" A man's voice called out.
However, before they could comprehend his existence in their booth, the knowledge of being within the universe has gripped them tightly and they just looked up in a daze like a bunch of idiots.
The man banged on the wall, "Anyone there?" He called out again.
This time, it caught the blondes attention as she blinked and looked around; "Oh right." She muttered as she took in her surroundings. She turned towards Harima and poked him in the ribs which quickly caught his attention and he looked around. "What happened?" He wondered. She looked ahead, "I don't know. It was like the very existence of the universe was right there in front of us." She pointed out. But she blinked again and shook her head, "But none of that for now. We have more pressing matters at hand." She denied the universes existence and opened the shutters that allowed them to see who was in their booth, "We have a customer." She revealed.
Harima took off his shades and rubbed his eyes as he tried to get back to this level of existence. He put them back on, "Alright, let's see who we have here." He muttered and focused his sights on his next victim.
To their shock, it was Hanai. "Oh ho! This day keeps getting better and better." Harima grinned evilly as he evilly placed his hand of evil on the evil levers.
"Try to contain yourself." Sarah pointed out. She than turned her attention to Hanai; "Welcome, this is a confession room. Here, you will be asked five questions concerning your life and this school. Being a confession room, we only ask that you be honest." She threw her usual pitch.
"That will be unnecessary." Hanai called out.
Sarah raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?" She wondered.
"Being an honorable and true warrior..." He called out.
"Oh boy, here we go." Harima muttered as he rubbed his temples.
"...asking me to be honest is unnecessary because I; Haruki Hanai, am always honest." Hanai continued his usual dramatics.
"Okay then, let's..." Sarah decided to go on with the questions.
"I was trained throughout the mountains enduring extreme physical pain and extremely harsh winds. I have honed my mind to see what does not exist..." Hanai went on.
"Alright, that's..." Sarah really tried to get this going on.
"...it would be folly to be dishonest now, especially when I'm in this ridiculous box. What would my peers think of me..." And on.
"I think the question is, is what does your peers not think of you?" Harima muttered.
"...What would my dear Yakumo think of me if I lied now? Me? The man that never lies?" And on.
"Will you just shut up already?" Harima called out. But to no avail, his words were drowned out.
"...in fact, it's hurting that you would think me; Haruki Hanai, would be dis-" He called out, but was interrupted by a pan swinging down and hitting him flat on the face.
"That's not the only thing that'll be hurting." Sarah replied with Harima looking on surprised that she was the one to pull the lever. "Now before you get your dramatic flares up again, let's continue on with our questions and not your story." She added as she sat back down on her seat.
Hanai was rubbing his face, "Oh right, sorry." He muttered.
Sarah cleared her throat; "Alright then, let's go on with this." She announced, "Question 1: Is there anyone causing you problems in this school?" She asked the first question.
Harima leaned on his arm, "This should be good." He muttered.
Hanai looked down in thought; "Does it have to be one choice?" He asked. Thinking closely, almost everyone in the school caused him problems one way or another.
Sarah crossed her arms and tilted her head, "Hmm, perhaps for you, we can give you a multiple choice." She responded. Curiously, she knew exactly who he was thinking about as she lifted five fingers.
Hanai looked up, "Those would be; Harima..."
Harima already tightened his grip.
Sarah counted down one finger.
"Imadori."
Sarah counted down another finger.
"Akira."
Third finger.
"Ganji."
Fourth finger. Sarah looked ahead as she figured who the last one might be.
"And lastly. Yakumo." Hanai finished his counting down.
Both Harima and Sarah collided their heads as they were surprised she was in his list.
"How could anyone have a problem with her?" Harima muttered. He knew of his...persistence in trying to woo Yakumo. He had first hand experience at the beach.
Sarah looked at her finger, "I thought it would be Mikoto." She returned. She shook her head and looked ahead, "Any particular reasons why?" She asked.
Hanai crossed his arms, "For Harima; I don't know how, but ever since we've acknowledged each others presence, we have become bitter rivals. As one warrior to another; even if his fighting style is sloppy against my refined style, I will not lose to him." He explained his reasons for antagonizing Harima.
Harima sat back with his arms crossed, "Well, at least he acknowledges my strength." He muttered.
"I will not lose Yakumo's heart to him." Hanai added to his reasons.
Harima immediately flinched, "What is it with everyone thinking me and Yakumo are together?" He asked as he straightened himself on his seat, "Me and her are just friends." He immediately pointed out.
Sarah glanced at him, "I wonder?" She asked. Yakumo has revealed to her of her sudden infatuation with the delinquent. Even to this day, she doesn't know why.
"As for Imadori and Ganji. Well, let's just say that they are the opposites of role models." Hanai simply stated his reasons against the two.
Sarah and Harima looked at each other, "No argument there."
Hanai leaned against the wall, "For Akira. I don't know what her problem is, but she has to get in the way between me and Yakumo. She denied me entry to her tea club and even put down all of my ideas." He explained why he dislikes Akira. "I am an honorable man, I won't say I hate her." He added.
Harima looked at Sarah; whom immediately knew what he was going to ask, "I don't understand her motives either." She responded.
"As for Yakumo..." Hanai started.
Sarah and Harima immediately leaned forward.
"She's just perfect, but she has denied my advances." He pointed out, "But no matter. Sooner or later, I'll be able to win her heart, mark my words. I'll make her see that I'm the perfect man for her." He stated his reasons against Yakumo...if you would call those reasons.
Sarah immediately narrowed her eyes, "In her eyes, she sees you just as perverted as much as the other perverts in your class." She muttered.
"Is that all?" Hanai asked.
"I'm sorry. Four more questions, but I trust they won't be as long?" Sarah pointed out. She cleared her throat again, "Second Question: What do you think of Harima Kenji?" She asked the second question.
Harima tilted his head; "I thought that was the third question?" He pointed out.
Sarah looked at him, "I figured we can mix the second, third, and fourth question on a needed basis." She answered.
Hanai looked back up, "I already said all I can. Just a fellow warrior in an eternal battle to win Yakumo's heart." He once again, explained his reason for antagonizing Harima.
Sarah looked at Harima; "Maybe we should take out your question as your pretty much on everyone's problem list." She responded and looked ahead, "Oh wait, never mind. If I just say my name, everyone will think I'm an egotist." She added. She looked at Harima and noticed he was gripping his fists tightly, "I'm sure Yakumo sees you as a friend too." She replied; gently patting him on the shoulder.
"Third Question: What do you think of Sarah Adiemus?" Sarah asked.
"Is that Yakumo's friend? That nun at the local church?" Hanai asked.
Sarah's eyebrow twitched, "Again with that nun!"
"I suppose I can say she's like a beautiful flower blooming within a battlefield." Hanai answered while looking up.
"Beautiful flower?" Sarah called out. She was not expecting this answer.
"As an honorable warrior..."
"His honorable warrior talk is really getting to my nerves." Harima replied, recovering from his inner conflict that Hanai has started between him and Yakumo.
"I must respect even religious figures. Caught in a war with me and Harima with Yakumo as the prize; no greater poetry can be display. As Harima falls in combat, that lone flower will tend to his wounds and see him to his future." He continued his story.
"Wait, are you saying we...I mean, they should get together?" Sarah called out. She was not liking this much.
"Of course not!" Hanai retorted, "Just think of what you're implying. Sarah's a Nun. Harima is a no-good, foul-mouthed, delinquent! You wouldn't even think that the two would be friends, much alone together." He explained.
Harima and Sarah sat backed with their arms crossed. Thinking about it, the two were just friends through Yakumo. In fact, this is the reason why she chose Harima to help her with this skit.
Sarah sat straight again, "Question 4: Is there anyone you are fond of at the moment?" She continued the questions.
Harima rested his head on his hand, "As if we didn't know." He muttered.
Hanai thought carefully. "I figured this would be one of the questions which is why I didn't include her in my list of problems in this school." He answered the question.
This caught both the nun and delinquents attention as they sat straight again.
"As the only one who has stood by my side all these years. One of my most treasured friends is Mikoto Suou. Not romantically of course. Just a platonic friendship between us. Sure she's arrogant and makes poor choices sometimes..."
Somewhere across the school, Mikoto sneezed.
"...but beneath that hard head lies a caring soul. She thinks selflessly for her friends and that trait is a must between honorable warriors." He explained his fondness of Mikoto.
"It's a shame it's only platonic." Sarah responded.
"Yeah. Save Yakumo all the trouble." Harima added. (AN: -coughschoolrumblezcough-)
"Is that all now? I need to get back to the tea shop." Hanai asked.
Sarah coughed, "Sorry. Last one." She revealed, "Last question: Is there anything you want to do to improve for those you are close too?" She asked the final question.
Hanai stood straight, "No." He simply answered.
"No?" Sarah repeated his answer.
Hanai looked at the wall, "I am almost at perfection. There is no need for me to improve more than I already am. However, once I win Yakumo's heart, I'll be on the top form of perfection." He explained his perfectionist attitude.
Sarah didn't know what to say about this behavior.
"Is that it now?" Hanai once again asked, "Yakumo is one of the waitresses in waiting at the tea club and I would like to explain to her once more why she should go with me and not Harima." He added.
"That's it." Harima muttered, "You shall now receive my judgement." He announced and pulled the punish lever. As he done that, Hanai's door opened and before he could walk out, a frying pan smacked him harder at the back of his head, causing him to fly out and land on the floor knocked out cold.
Opening their door, Sarah looked around to see that they're in the clear and both her and Harima walked out. They grabbed his arm and leg and dragged him at the back into the hallway. Harima looked at him, "With that attitude, I find it insulting at the thought of Yakumo being with you." He muttered and went back into their booth.
Sarah didn't walk back in, instead poked her head inside, "I'll be right back. I need to go talk to Yakumo about something." She announced and before Harima could ask for an explanation, she walked away.
Not that it mattered anyway, Harima just leaned back and crossed his arms, "That guy..." He muttered. Thinking of it, he found it amusing at the thought of him becoming some sort of guardian for the Tsukamoto's. At that thought, he grabbed out his sketch pad and wrote some notes about the thought so he can incorporate it into his story.
Outside; Asou and Suga were walking along, with Suga talking to him. "Come on man. I've been looking at her for months. You got to at least introduce me to her." He tried to persuade Asou.
Asou looked at him, "Look. I know that you may like Sarah, but trust me. It won't work out for you." He explained. At the moment, he was looking around for a place to hide from him for a bit.
Suga lowered his face, "Your just saying that because you want her and don't want anyone else to come close to her. Right?" He pointed out.
"That's not..."
"But it's okay. I get it. Working alongside her at the restaurant, you've fallen for her foreign charms and you want that meat for yourself." Suga continued to persuade him.
"With that attitude, I find it insulting at the thought of Sarah being with you..." Asou muttered, but noticed that Suga wasn't paying attention. Looking around, he saw a box. Seeing it was the only thing in sight, he swiftly dove in.
Suga looked around and noticed his colleague was absent, "Asou?" He called out. It was crowded, so it was easy to get split up. "I'll meet up with him later." He muttered and walked away.
At the box, Asou peeked out, "That guy..." He muttered. Sure he's his closest friend, but what he's asking for is impossible. Even if he wanted to be with Sarah, he'd meet similar results.
On the other side, Harima noticed that he got a new client, "Oh crap. Where's Sarah?" He muttered and looked outside to see if he could spot her anywhere. Seeing no one, he sat back down, "I suppose I can try one without her." He replied and grabbed out a list of the questions Sarah has written down for him.
"This should be interesting..." Harima muttered.
XoXoX
I truly had no idea a year almost passed since the last update and I just got to work on this one a couple days ago. Anyways, I haven't seen School Rumble in a while, so I apologize that they may be off a bit.
This wraps up another confession, now we have Asou Hiroyoshi; the Dark Horse of 2C.
We'll see how it plays out next chapter. So I hope you enjoyed.
