Chapter 8

Hei stuck close to the rear end of the army. They made so many twist and turns in the desolated bland colored streets Hei had no idea where to go to get back to the same open area they where before nor did he know how far they had traveled; they could be tricking him and knowingly leading him in circles waiting to spring the 'we knew you were behind there the whole time' trap.

Salis Nadir wasn't too far behind, he also was trailing the two companies. He picked up a stone and threw it at the nearest soldier who looked back just as Hei ducked behind a building. The soldier saw nothing and continued walking muttering under his breath. Hei stuck his head out, he searched around and glared menacingly at Nadir. Salis held his fists up, one hands knuckles were facing towards him and the other was facing knuckles downward. His moved the down facing fist in a vertical rotation and in the other fist his middle finger slowly pointed completely upward. He ran behind the building no doubt laughing to himself.

"Damn Western weirdo..." if Hei had the time or energy...Then Hei heard one of the army people shout- "over here, there she is!" Damn. Hei didn't have time for stupid games but by the time he went around several buildings in order to stay unseen the army already had surrounded a temple styled courtyard. In the front of the army was a stone arch but on closer inspection it was stone was not flat surfaced, there was melded faces on it.

The man with the tall hat leading the army stepped up to the arch and pressed on the wall, it gave away and a dark corridor revealed itself. "March! She has to be here! Secure the area." Hei used his graffling knives and propelled himself above the army and landed on the arch, he crouched down as to not to be seen. He looked for Salis, the slippery rogue hung back, he glanced at Hei staring at him but kept his attention on the guards, he ducked back behind the building disappearing. Hei was glad to be rid of the annoying space jumper, he had other things to worry about. The tall hat man was facing away from Hei speaking to himself in a low voice, he couldn't hear what he was saying. It looked as though he was whispering to someone that wasn't there. Hei jumped off the arch, using the spring of he fall to launch himself behind the crumbling walls and dead hedges, he peered over from his hiding place, what he saw surprised him too much for anger to even register.

Yin's body was barely clothed and was hooked up to a vertical table. Her arms stretched out and her head hung over her shoulders. There were wires sticking in her body in varies places, stringing down to the ground and behind the vertical table and attached to a mechanic pillar that jolted electricity every couple of seconds. None of the soldiers dared to go any closer than a circular arrangement. The tall hat man stepped between the soldiers and stepped in front of Yin. Hei froze, he wanted to throw his graffling hooks at the man but it might have hit Yin, nonetheless if he tried to fry him as well the over raging amount of electricity could overload whatever the hell she was strapped down too. Hei didn't like this, but he had to stay down, he would have to move closer then he could make his move.
