Sweet Dreams, My Angel (a poem to Bella from Edward)
What beyond this darkness lies
In the shadows of the night
That you cannot see with just your eyes
For you have only mortal sight.
In dreams you see beyond the world
You see magical far away lands
The universe seems to come unfurled
Yet you can grasp it in the palm of your hand.
But when the light of day returns
And it glistens upon your bed
Your whole entire dream world burns
And darkness envelops your head.
Now the world you'd created so effortlessly
Is gone 'til tomorrow when you fall back asleep.
A/N: (Sorry about the bold/italics... I don't know how else to identify the beginning of each stanza.) I wrote this poem 4 years ago for my 9th grade lit class. Of course, I changed the title (it was simply "Dreams"), because Twilight didn't exist when I wrote this poem originally. Let me know what you think! I'm open for comments/criticism.
