"Brother, do you have any fours?"

"No."

"……."

"Fine. Go Fish!"

Larsa drew a card and added it to his hand. He looked to Gabranth to take his turn.

"Lord Larsa, do you have any sevens?"

Larsa reluctantly handed over his two sevens. Gabranth kept from smiling as he removed two other cards from his hand and laid his four sevens on the table. Larsa looked at him, worried. He only had two cards left in his hand.

"Gabranth, do you have any sixes?"

"Go Fish." Gabranth, at least, was willingly using the accepted phrase, as Larsa requested.

Vayne drew a card and glanced over at Larsa. He was chewing on his bottom lip as he glanced between his cards and Gabranth, obviously contemplating whether to risk asking him for a card.

"Ummmm… Gabranth? Do you have any nines?"

Gabranth removed one card from his hand and handed it to him. Larsa put it in his own hand and glanced over at him, worried.

"Lord Larsa, do you have any fours?"

Larsa handed him his three fours. Gabranth took it and set all four cards down on the table. He held up his hands, as if to prove he didn't have any more cards. "Looks like I win."

Larsa began gathering up the cards, and Vayne sat back, wondering whether he should suggest they play something else. He was weighing the pros and cons of Monopoly when a soldier entered the room.

"Forgive me for disturbing you, my lord."

"It's about time you got back. What's your report on their progress?"

"They just finished the Fafnir hunt, sir. It seems they will still be doing hunts for a while yet. They intend to fight Yiazmat."

Vayne waved him away and turned to Gabranth, "How about best two out of three?"

A/N: Haven't you always wondered what they're doing while you're off finishing all the optional bosses?

I am aware that people play Go Fish several ways. This is probably a bizarre hybrid of several different ways to play, but that's how I think they play in Ivalice. :D
