Chapter 9: The Bells of Mystery
Terra and I kept on training by ourselves. We even found out that Terra can do moves that uses the shadows of a person. Which it will come in handy. However, we both know that it must be from the Dark Entity. We both thought that we need to find a way to keep the dark entity away for a while. And call him when we needed it. Though I did not want to raise my concern about the events of the first outbreak of the dark entity. Kira and Lotus is looking on that part of my worriness. Terra is still looking on my bells and their false alarms. How all three of them is concerned about me? Then again they do not know my past nor do they know anything about the red and blue flash concern. I personally tried to look on that myself.
"Who where those two that helped Terra and myself," I thought. I did not want the others worried about that. I am going to worried about that myself.
"Priestess," said a voice. I turned around and find Terra looking at me. I know something is concerning her.
"Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked. Terra looked at me in the eyes. I could of sworn she was hiding something. Then again so was I.
"The dark entity. Shadow Devil. Did he say something about our friends will kill us if they know our past," said Terra. I do not know what she is hiding but something tells me that she is looking something and want to know something.
"I do not blame Kira or Lotus trying to kill me. I do deserve it. I have killed people I called my parents," said Terra. I looked at her as she is feeling guilt.
"What do you mean?" I asked. Terra looked at me and sighs. I could see it in her orange eyes. Something she is wanting to tell me something.
"Long ago 30 years ago. My friends, Kira, Lotus, and Search wanted to help someone out by figuring the schematics of a weapon that would have killed us all. By doing so, I snuck into a room. The room it belongs to a person that I called my mother. I was naïve child. I did find the schematics and helped someone to destroy the weapon. In the end, it cost my mother and the person who watched me I called my father. Till this day I still wished that things are different. I wanted to wait for the day my guilt has turned down," said Terra. I looked at her.
"I know about partial of this story but I did not know all of it. I only heard from Kira and Lotus their side of the story. However, now I understand your guilt. If I wish things were different, I wish there is a way for me to help you when you need it. However, I am going to make that promise now. I am going to help all of you in your time of need," I said.
"Well that is great, we might going to use everyone's help. I do hope that we might get to know what those bells are of yours. I have been looking though the data and find pieces of some type of energy. Something about them telling me that there is energy or even living beings that may be inside. It rings every time something bad is going to happen like Mary's capsule been taken. Shadow Devil's appearance. Or even if Kira goes maverick. All of those tend to lead the bells ringing," said Terra.
"What about the second ring. Where everything tends to resolve," I said. Terra looked at me.
"Yes if the first one rings about something bad is going to happen. The second one rings for a resolution. That is if we cannot handle ourselves. Like Shadow Devil's appearance. That second ring does come in handy. However, if we can handle the situation or even avoid it total then we might even have that to our advantage," said Terra.
"I suppose so," I said. Terra looked at me and sighed. She then called forth her scythe.
"You know ever since I have this shadow ability. I do wonder what will happen if you are not around and Shadow Devil wants to come out," said Terra. I looked down.
"For that matter it controls you. I do not know how but he does. You may be feeling immortal when he does that but I have a feeling that it is only the beginning," I said.
"You are right. Something like that happening means something worse is about to happen," said Terra.
"Right now we only manage to control what we need to control. I do think that everything is going to fall into the blood stain history of this planet," I said.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Terra with a confused look. I looked at her and sighed.
"This world. I have read everything that the humans did in the past. I also know that history has a tendency to repeat itself. In 20XX, the robot era has started. It was the first sign that even machines are going to be caught in the war, even though back then the robots do not have emotions like how we reploids are. Then there is the reploid era/maverick wars 21XX-22XX. Those wars show the beginning of humans and reploids distinct blood bath history. It keeps going on and there is nothing we all can do to stop it. No matter if we are humans, reploids, or humanoids," I said.
"I see what you mean. However, there are times of peace. When there is peace there is bound to be another war coming. I do wanted these wars to end. I think everyone does. And I do think whoever or whatever put the energy to your bells want you not to fall into the war category. As for me, I already fell into that category. However, I can change that with time. Not everyone felt the waves of war. There is some areas where war has not touched on. I wish all those places are like that. Though I know it will never be. We might just accepted what I called our destiny," said Terra.
"Destiny??" I asked. Terra looked at me and knows that I am clueless about it. She looked at me.
"It is what we are going to live for. Whether it is guarding the capsules until one of them is awake or go to war with another country. Everything has some type of destiny. Whether we are doing big things or small things. That is how life is," said Terra.
"I see. I should start spread my knowledge around," I said. Terra smiled. Just then my bells goes off.
"Well it is show time," said Terra as she called her scythe. I looked at her and she smiled at me.
"Where do you think the trouble is at?" I asked Terra. Terra turned to me with a warm smile.
"Who knows? Lets go search for it and find out what we are going to look for?" asked Terra. I smiled at her as we both called Kira and Lotus. Again we met up and found a mechanaloid. Great a beetle like mechanaloid. Then the viroids again caught my attention. This is not good. Those viroids can kill a human not to mention anything that has a mechanism. I know that it will be a matter of time when we will get killed. Kira has a sword in her hand while Lotus pulled out a shuriken. I know the only weapon I have are my crystals.
"Well well, isn't it the watcher brigade. Well I have weapons of all of your parents and now you are going to die while I take those capsule and become rich," said Cranial Shift. I looked at him and growled.
"Oh I know you now Priestess Scorpio. Daughter of Eugene Scorpio. So that makes you the daughter of the creator of the viroids. Not to mention he did awaken those people in the capsules the first time and put them back in the second time. Oh yeah wasn't he the one who change humans into humanoids. If so then I so dearly glad that I did meet you then," said Cranial Shift. I do not know too much of Eugene Scorpio but I know that he is using my father's name against me. Kira, Lotus, and Terra looked at me in shocked. I looked down as I am about to be in tears.
"Priestess is that true," I heard Kira's concern hoping what he says is not true. I did not want to raise concern but I cannot hide it forever.
"It is true. However, I do not know my father's past if I did then he probably asked for forgiveness. I know for the fact he is dead. I never get the chance to fully understand that man," I said in tears. Kira looked at me as she knows that I am crying my heart out.
"See. So it is true. And you admit it. Well I hope you can plot something twisted like how your father-" said Cranial Shift as I interrupted him.
"I am not him. I am not Eugene Scorpio. I am Priestess Scorpio. He wanted me not to follow his footsteps. So whatever my father did. Do not take it out on me. I am not him and I will never be," I said. Cranial shift laughed at me and smiled wide.
"Well Miss Scorpio it is time for you to die now. I am sorry that you will be the first one to die," said Cranial Shift. I now have looked at him with my determined eyes. I was waiting for my turn. I watched countless of times of Kira and Lotus fighting the mechanaloids. Terra as well. I know it is my turn to defeat my enemies. I heard my left bell ring. I saw it glow as I started to feel power flowing through me. I looked at myself as I am no longer in pink. I am in gray and black armor. With tints of red, blue and yellow. I have to pistol guns.
"Use my power and I will aid you along," I heard a voice. I nodded and start firing at the mechanaloid and Cranial Shift. I had boosters that I did not know that this armor has. Though I become more agile than before. I think I surprised Terra, Kira, and Lotus. I have the upper hand. I manage to destroyed the reploid. The scanner I had within my head now shows all the weak spots. I never thought that is possible. I used the armor to my full extent. Cranial Shift looked at me.
"What the heck? What are you? Who are you?" asked Cranial Shift. I have my guns pointed at him.
"Does it matter? You are the one who is intruding here. I will open fire at you like I did to your mechanaloid," a voice said that was not mine. I do wonder who is using my body as a vessel.
"Bah I have to retreat now. I will be back for those capsules and I will get them if I must. You can't stop me forever," said Cranial Shift.
"You do not have eyes all over this place and here is to make sure," said the voice as I felt the gun shot his electrical impulse. Cranial Shift left in a hurry. I reformed back to my pink self. The voice now show a hologram of what I had become. The only thing I do not recognize its face. Her eyes were black as well as her hair it was shadow-like.
