Smiling Pasta
Course 1: Removing the love curse by being in love for 90 years (Part 6)
As the sun was setting on the Sunrise Villa, the Uchiha family was eating dinner. Four places were set, yet only three people were eating: Fugaku, Mikoto, and Sasuke.
Fugaku broke the awkward silence by talking to his son. "One of these days, invite your agent to our house for dinner." Shizune brought more in to eat. "I want to talk to him about canceling the contract."
A puzzled look crossed Sasuke's face. "What do you mean?"
Mikoto closed her dark eyes. "Your father hopes that you can leave the entertainment business."
"Why?"
Fugaku's face went sour. "I don't want to see you on the covers of tabloids."
Sasuke stared down at his rice bowl. "It's more like you don't want me to affect your political career…"
His father's face was frozen in shock. "Honey…" Mikoto warned. "Don't talk like that to your father."
The Minister ignored the remark and continued. "I went to your new single showcase today… Very successful. You're already at this point. Isn't that good enough?"
"I am very happy."
"Really? I've never seen you smile."
Sasuke picked up another scoop of rice with his chopsticks. "That's only in front of you and in front of the paparazzi."
Mikoto's face saddened while Fugaku's twisted. "In front of me? What do you mean?" Sasuke just continued eating. "I am your father. At first, it was to make you happy, so I let you enter the entertainment industry." He was raising his voice, so Mikoto tried to give him a small glance to tell him to be a little bit quieter. "But the result of that was seeing you give me a bad attitude everyday." Everyone, including Shizune, gave him a quick glance. "I really regret letting you enter the entertainment industry. I just want you to accommodate me and leave this industry." Sasuke looked down in shame. "But you said, 'no'. What now? Do you want to be like your little brother and rebel against me?"
Onyx orbs closed. "Don't pull Sai into this. Half the reason why he doesn't want this home is because of you."
Fugaku slammed his glass onto the table. "What did you say?! Say it again!" Sasuke's eyes drifted downward. "Half the reason is actually you!" In disbelief at what his father just said, Sasuke's gloomy eyes shot him a look.
Realizing how intense the atmosphere was, Mikoto decided to speak up. "Okay, okay. Let's not talk about his during dinner. Come on, eat."
Sasuke finally looked away from his father. He dropped his chopsticks and got up. "I'm full."
"You…"
"Honey…"
At the restaurant: (A/N: In the back is the house where they all live.)
Kumakichi paced the length of the living room. Chouji was eating while Sakura's brother, Samuru, and his wife, Sako, were sitting on the couch, holding a phone. "We've called her lots of times. If she doesn't want to pick up, then she won't pick up."
The dad would not stand for this. "Unbelievable! She should come home after dinner! What is she up to?"
Matsu tried to calm her husband down. "Maybe she's too busy to answer. She did say she might not come home tonight."
He straightened up after hearing this. "Not coming home tonight? Could she and that boy…"
Sako, Samuru, Matsu, and Grandpa gaped as Chouji just cried.
"Unbelievable!"
Chouji stood up, screaming, "Sakura! You are mine!" He started jumping up and down in frustration. "You can't leave me like that!"
Everyone winced at the awful noise. Note to audience: Never mess with an enraged Chouji. "Chouji, stop jumping! You're going to break the house!"
Matsu confronted Chouji and started yelling at him, "Sit down! Sit down! Sit down!" Once he did as he was told, she continued. "Sakura has never been yours. She is the Haruno family's daughter," she said as she pointed to herself. Then, she turned to her husband. "And you… our daughter is already grown up. She's only not coming home for a day. Why are you so worried? Old-fashioned man…"
Chouji continued to sulk.
"Just because she's grown up, it doesn't mean she can go wild."
Kumakichi's wife wrapped an arm around him. "Didn't you go wild with me in the beginning?"
Samuru winced as Sako started laughing. Chouji wolfed down a whole jar of pickles, then turned around at the sound of his master's voice.
"Haruno Kumakichi," Grandpa began, "what kind of era are you in? Even I, as a grandpa, can accept this new idea." Matsu playfully tapped her husband on the chest. "Look at yourself." He stuffed a cigar in his mouth. "I say you need to upgrade your brain."
Everyone nodded in agreement as Kumakichi exited the room in a huff, ordering, "What are you looking at? Continue calling! Call until she answers!"
Samuru pouted. "I have to keep calling?" He lazily picked up the phone and dialed again.
"The number you have dialed is unavailable. Please call again later."
"What?" He turned to the others. "She turned off her phone."
They stared in disbelief. Then, Chouji started bawling again, making everyone cover his or her ears screaming, "Shut up!"
Sunrise Villa:
"Lu la la lu la la lu la lu la le…" Sakura had her pink hair tied up neatly in a bun and was playing with the many bubbles in the bathtub.
Once she got out of the bath, she started braiding her hair in two low braids while humming happily, until she realized something that made her gasp.
She looked around to make sure she was wrong. "Where are my clothes?" After a quick scan, she knew she didn't remember them. "Looks like I forgot to bring them in with me."
Sasuke was swinging on the porches swing, back and forth in thought. The sound of his cell phone made him get up.
"Hello, Kakashi."
Kakashi's house:
"Did you look at those pictures that I sent you?"
Sunrise Villa:
Sasuke walked to his computer, double clicking on a link and seeing the pictures of him kissing Sakura. His eyes were wide with horror, but soon closed in thought.
Kakashi's voice was heard on the other line. "You have nothing to say now, right?"
Kakashi's home:
"Sasuke, who in the world is she? How long have you guys been together? You can't keep these things from me. I'm your agent! You have to be honest with me. Give me an explanation so I can tell the reporters tomorrow."
Sunrise Villa:
Sasuke switched the phone to his other ear. "I can only tell you that I have no relationship with this girl." Sakura carefully opened the bathroom door with one hand, the other was holding a towel up. "This whole situation was a pure accident. And about what to tell the reporters tomorrow…" Sakura tiptoed across the room, so Sasuke wouldn't catch her. "all I have to say is that I really have nothing to say."
Sasuke started to turn around, so Sakura hid behind the closet door. "I'll be at your house early in the morning and we'll think of something together."
"Ok."
As stealthily as possible, Sakura snuck into the room and grabbed the clothes off the bed with both hands. She turned to leave as the towel fell from her body. She looked down, seeing her skin as Sasuke turned around, seeing a naked Sakura. She turned around, eyes scared, holding the clothes to her chest. Meanwhile, Sasuke's mouth dropped and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
After a few agonizing moments of shock, Sakura screamed. This brought Sasuke back to the real world. He looked from left to right then put a finger to his lips, telling her to be quiet. She didn't listen, so Sasuke decided to put his hands over her mouth.
Downstairs, Mikoto looked up the steps. "Why was there a girl's voice?" Out of curiosity, she started to climb the stairs.
Back with our favorite duo, Sasuke harshly whispered, "Don't say anything!"
"Honey…" Mikoto knocked on the wood of Sasuke's door. "Honey."
Sasuke and Sakura looked at the door, hoping she wouldn't come inside. Again, Sasuke gave her the universal sign to be quiet.
"Honey! What's going on?" The knocking became more persistent. "Honey!" She finally turned the knob and came inside (much to Sakura and Sasuke's discomfort).
"Honey! Honey!" Mikoto ran inside to find… Sasuke lying comfortably in his bed.
"Mom, what's the matter?"
After quickly scanning the room, Mikoto asked, "What was that noise?"
A remembering look passed Sasuke's face. "Oh… I saw a roach fly by and then I…" Sasuke mimicked Sakura's scream, hoping it was good enough to fool his mother. "It was like that, right?"
Mikoto nodded in understanding, receiving a sickly sweet smile from her son. "Don't stay up too late."
Sasuke waved a bit. "Good night." His mother nodded and started to leave, as a certain something was squirming under the bed sheets.
"Oh, right." Mikoto turned back around. "What your Dad said… don't take it too seriously."
"Ok. Good night, Mom."
As she was leaving she called, "Don't kick off the covers! Don't stay up too late!"
"Ok." He waved "good-bye" as he watched his mother close the door behind her. "Bye bye."
Suddenly, a giant white mass of bed sheets fell off the bed, leaving a screaming, fully clothed girl. "You pervert!" Sakura started to slap and punch Sasuke while ranting. "You kissed me and now you're taking advantage of me! Go away!" She finally kicked him off the bed.
He had flaming red eyes, glaring daggers at the girl. "Get the situation straight! Whose house is this? Who is the one who's supposed to leave? And if it wasn't for you who started a concert in the bathroom, my Mom wouldn't have come in." Sakura dropped her head. "If I hadn't let you stay today, then I wouldn't have had such bad luck." He was breathing heavily. "And you're yelling at me?! You stupid fool!"
Sasuke was looking extremely pissed, which scared Sakura for a bit, until she figured out what to say. "I'm sorry." That seemed to calm Sasuke down, until a grumbling was heard. They looked at each other. Even though it wasn't the right time, Sakura had to risk it. "I'm hungry."
The raven-haired boy got up and went to the opposite side of the bed to sit down. "You caused so much trouble and you still dare to say you're hungry." Then, his own stomach growled.
Sakura's eyes narrowed. "Aren't you hungry too?"
"None of your business!" Sasuke snapped.
