A little drabble I though up. I've always liked the demonic size of Raven so here's my little tribute to her darkness.
Disclaimer: (Witty disclaimer about how I don't own Teen Titans goes here...) Long live the Teen Titans, they live on in our childhood memories as heroes.
Lost of Control
It had started off as just another day at work. Saving the world and whatnot, the norm. It had never meant to happen, and yet now there was no going back.
But the fact remained that Raven didn't want to go back to the way it was before. The mind-numbing days of the Teen Tower were over. Finally Raven had been able to reveal her true feeling to Beast Boy.
The blood had been pounding in her ears, Raven remember. Jinx had truly been a satisfying opponent, though Raven never mean to kill her. She remembered distinctly how Jinx's limp body had fell upon her as the sickening sound of bones breaking filled the air.
Her shoulders had been shaking as she stared at the other girl's limp body. A painful howl rose from her mouth and everyone turned to her.
"Rae!" Beast Boy yelled as he ran to her side, morphing from ram to human. "Rae, are you okay?" Then he noticed the blood everywhere.
"I didn't mean to kill her..." Raven murmured.
Beast Boy looked with concern at his comrade. In an unusual, but in his view completely necessary, act of kindness Beast Boy wrapped his scrawny arms around the young mage's shaking frame. "Shh..." He whispered to quiet Raven's howl. When silent regained the area again Raven allowed herself to speak.
"I didn't mean to." She turned her smiling face to Beast Boy and in that moment he realized something was horribly wrong. For it was not in horror in which Raven shook but rather in laughter. "I didn't mean to kill her, Beast Boy, but it just felt so right." The human part of Raven was fast disappearing as it gave way to the demonic part she inherited from her father.
An iron fist grasped Beast Boy's wrist. "You know Beast Boy, there's something I've wanted to tell you for a long time," Raven allowed herself a sadistic smile as her teammates watch. "The truth is...I hate you."
And the Teen Titans watches as their island and sage, their friend and fellow turned to the darkness that dwelt within her. In horror they watched helpless and still as Raven used her psychokinesis to levitate nearby scrap metal. The pieces hovered for a moment and then rocketed toward the mage and Beast Boy. With audible impact the metal impaled Beast Boy.
Grinning Raven cradled Beast Boy in her arms as he coughed blood. His eyes were so filled with betrayal and hurt that Raven allowed herself to throw back her head in crazed abandon and let out a howl of peer sadistic joy.
