Phew! Finally done with this chapter!
He parked on the side of the road and glanced across the street.
Annoying music, lots of screaming, one toothed old people trying to get your money..Yeah, L could go on and on about all the things he disliked about these places.
Yet, here he was.
"Ryuuzaki! You...you brought us to the carnival?!" Rolling down his window, Light gaped at the sight. He'd never seen so many rides at a carnival before!
"Yes. I know you enjoy them, and I remember you talking about this one being in town so-" Light cut him by attacking him with a tight hug.
"Ah, thank you!"
L raised an eyebrow, or lack there of, and slowly returned the gesture. "Er..you're welcome." The brunette smiled widely and pulled away, jumping out of the car.
L then cleared his throat and turned around. "I thought you three might enjoy it as well. Seeing as how when you were at Wammy's, you liked it when I took you to places like this." It was true. Matt and Mello loved going to fairs and such when they were smaller. And even Near, who hardly ever left the house, would never pass up the chance to go.
"Man, it's been forever since I've been to a carnival." Mello spoke slowly as he followed the other two out of the car. L had already been drug out by Light.
"Yeah. Thanks L, this really brings back memories." The redhead smiled. He liked thinking about times when they were younger, everything was so simple then.
Near remained silent and just starred at all the rides and bright lights. So this must have been why Ryuuzaki made him wear shoes today... His thoughts were interrupted by someone grabbing his hand and pulling.
"Don't just stand there! Do you wanna get run over?" He was dragged across the street by Mello and into a the swarm of people that were waiting to get their tickets. Oh, how he disliked crowds.
"We're going to get the wrist bands. There's good until 11 o'clock." L brought his thumb up to his lips. Like Near, he wasn't found of being around so many noisy, pushy people. It was making him kind of angsty.
Light rocked from heel to toe on his feet. He just couldn't stand still, he was too excited! He also hadn't been to any sort of fair in a long time and this was the biggest he'd ever seen. It had many rides including two Ferris wheels. One on each side of the area, he noticed. He could even see a mini roller coaster in the distance!
Ryuuzaki looked at Light strangely when he made a noise the detective could only describe as a 'squee' and clapped his hands together anxiously.
After standing in line for 20 agonizing (for Light anyway) minutes, they finally had their wristbands and where ready to ride some rides.
"Okay, now which-"
"That one!"
"That one!"
Mello and Light pointed at two separate rides.
"No way, that line is way too long!"
"That one's farther away then that one!"
"But I like this one better!"
"There's no need to argue." L sighed and pointed to his wrist, "With these we can ride as many rides as we want, and we still have a good 5 hours. So lets just pick one that everyone can agree to, for now."
"Hmph. Fine." Light pouted, and looked around. "How 'bout that one?" The ride in question was called 'The Flyer.' You'd lay on your stomach and it would swing you around quickly, going up and down and leaning side to side. 'It feels like you're going to fall, it's pretty scary', some people say. Light wouldn't know though, he'd never been on it.
"Hm, okay. You wanna go on that with me, Matt?"
"Hell yeah!" Just so happened, that was one of the gamer's favorite. I mean, you just got to lay there and it felt like your flying. It was great!
"Looks like three people can ride together, so you gonna join us?" Mello looked down to Near.
"Yes, I think I will." He was twirling his hair idly, as per usual. It was cute, Mello noticed.
They then pushed their way through the crowd, and into the line.
A 15 minute wait later, and they were on.
Light climbed in first and padded the space next to him. "Hop on in, Ryuu-cub!"
"I thought I asked you not to call me that." He grunted, laying down on the platform.
"But I like it! It's kinda cute and so...you." Light smiled and L sighed. Looking ahead of them, he could see the other three. They were already laying down on their seats. Near was in the middle.

"Alright, you three set?" A guy in his 20's walked up and secured them in. When he got over to Mello, his lips pulled into a smile. He slowly reached over behind the blonde's back and 'accidently' rubbed against his lower back, which was showing due to small clothing, with his hand.
"Oops, sorry sir." He winked.
Funny, I wouldn't guess this guy to be gay. Near thought to himself.
Mello flinched drastically from the touch, and started to seethe. But before he could say anything, Matt intervened.
"Mel is mine! Back. Off." He starred daggers and kept his voice low and threatening. "Don't even thinking about touching him either." He wrapped his arm around Near's waist. Did that guy think Matt didn't notice him eyeing Near too?! What a jerk-off!!
The guy gave an odd look, then raised his hands defensively and quickly walked away.
It was silent for a moment.
"...We belong to Matt, then?" Mello asked amusingly, grabbing the gamer's hand that was around Near.
"So it seems." Easing into Matt a little more, the albino allowed himself a small smile.
Matt blushed and, having been distracted, jumped when the ride moved suddenly.

L chuckled slightly at the scene in front of him. He remembered Mello mentioning about how possessive the redhead could be at times. Looks like he was right.
"It's starting!" Light nudged him with his elbow.
"Yes, I know."
"Are you excited?"
"..Not really."
Light sighed. L could at least humor me, and pretend like he's having fun..
The ride didn't last very long, and it was defiantly not as intense as people had lead them to believe. In fact, it was pretty relaxing, just laying there..
After it ended, they walked to an uncrowded area and pondered on where to go next.
"You four decide on a ride, I'll be right back." L walked away, heading for the nearest food stand.
"Uh, okay. How about...oh!" Mello pointed to a small house-like building. "A fun house!"
"A fun house?" Matt raised an eyebrow.
"And Mello says we're the immature ones." The white-clad boy mocked.
"C'mon, you know you like them too." The blond took hold of the other two's hands and lead them to the fun house.
"Hey! We gotta wait for Ryuuzaki!" Light called. But he wasn't heard, and they kept walking.

The fun house had painted people on them, some smiling and laughing and others screaming or crying. Some point in walking through it, you come to a 'haunted' part, which was supposedly scary. But Mello doubted it really was.
The first section was a mirror maze, and Matt kept bumping into his reflection. Why does this have to be so damn confusing!?
Near had made it through with no problem, the other's close behind.
"Shit, I can't see." Mello complained as he staggered through the dark. They were in a narrow hallway now, and there was zero visibility. When they finally made it to another room, they were nearly blinded.
The lights in the room blinked rapidly on and off, creating a 'seziure' type effect. It made you feel dizzy and it was hard to see anything
"Oof" The choco-holic stumbled right into Near, running him into the wall.
"Damn it! This place is giving me a headache."
"You wanted to come in here." Near informed him, looking up. He then blushed when realizing that Mello had him against the wall. Good thing he couldn't really see him in here.
"Yeah, yeah." Mello sighed. And then also realizing their position, he brought his hands up to rest on the brick on either side of Nears face. He then slowly bent down and pressed their lips together. Near gasped slightly but placed his hands on the blond's chest. The kiss deepened.
"Hey guys? Where'd you..oh." He ran into the back of Mello, and immediately knew what was going on. He frowned, and started to turn around to finish the rest of the fun house, but was stopped by someone pulling on his shirt.
Mello smiled and tugged the gamer into him, wrapping his arms around his neck. "Where are you going?"
"Nowhere.." Matt smiled back and was then turned and pushed against the wall next to Near. he closed his eyes as Mello kissed him. He then felt hands glide under the front of his shirt and another pair of lips on his neck.
"Nnn..!" He moaned through the kiss as Near and Mello continued their 'assault'.
Several kids made their way through the fun house, only to turn around and run out the front entrance.
Apparently there was 'strange' noises comming from inside, and they were scared..

Hm..it seems I've made a whole chapter of them just going on one ride... eh..sorry about that. I'm just more of a 'detail' writer then a 'straight to the point' kind, if you know what I mean.
Is that too annoying, you think?
