Chapter 4. Youthful backup.
Four days had passed since the fight. The team had settled for camp a few kilometers away from Akatsuki's location. Everything was going as planned.
Naruto stopped and looked at the sky.
"We will stop here." He said. "Sasuke! Write Obaa-chan a report and tell her to send us back-up."
"Dobe, we have no need for back-up yet. And why do I have to always write the reports?"
"Because you have a decent calligraphy." Naruto answered receiving a death-glare from Hinata and Sakura.
"And the girls will be cooking dinner." He added, smirking and feeling the girls calming down and suppressing their chakra.
5 hours later, at 1 o'clock in the morning…
"Lady, Tsunade." Shizune said opening the office's door slowly. "We received another report from Sasuke. They have targeted Akatsuki and he says: 'I don't know why but the dobe wants assistance right away, even though we don't have need for it yet. But… he IS a dobe after all.'" The Hokage grinned. Kid's smarter than I thought. Shizune re-read the report once more. "To be honest I don't know why he asks for back-up now."
"Shizune..." Tsunade stared at her assistant somehow disappointed. "He wants it right now, because Naruto knows that if they're stuck in a sticky situation it would be too late for back-up. They took 6 days getting there but if Gai's team hurries they can get there in less than two days." She chuckled. "Poor Tenten, the guys are always racing." She stopped laughing when it started to hurt. "Send ANBU members to wake them up and send them away."
"Hai!" The raven-haired woman said and immediately disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"This boy always ceases to amaze me." The Godaime said to herself giggling.
The next day Hinata was the first to wake up. She looked at her watch. It was 6 am, too soon to wake her partners up. Sasuke and Sakura still didn't know about her relationship with Naruto. It wasn't official anyway. She got out of the tent with her too-short-for-comfort pajama. The breeze was humid, but pleasant. A great day for a walk in Konoha's park. Hinata shook her head. Focus. Forget about Konoha during this mission. Suddenly she felt someone's warm arms around her waist. She knew right away who it was and smiled happily.
"Good morning, Hina-chan." Naruto said pecking her cheek. She turned around so that she could hug him back.
"Good morning, Naru-kun." Hinata replied.
"What are you doing here so early?" He asked rubbing his cheek on her silky hair.
"I woke up and came to get some fresh air. That tent is a stove." Naruto chuckled and kissed his girlfriend's lips. Hinata hugged him tighter. When they finally broke apart, two minutes later, they looked into each other's eyes, Hinata turning a shade of pink. This seemed like magic. This was the one true thing she wanted in her life. The one thing that was missing and she desperately needed. She kept looking into his gorgeous eyes when suddenly…
"Ah-he-he-hem." Their eyes widened as they slowly moved their head to see the two figures standing next to them, a few meters away. Sakura and Sasuke stood there, arms crossed, both with an evil grin.
"'Bout time." Sasuke commented. Naruto and Hinata let go of themselves, the Hyuuga blushing furiously.
"Shaddup, teme!" Sasuke ran towards him.
"Who's the teme here? You don't even know how to kiss!"
"Whaddaya mean, idiot? I bet you never kissed a girl."
"At least I don't make a fool out of myself while doing so!" Hinata sighed.
"Actually, Sasuke, he does kiss well." Sakura stared at her for a minute and, after a while, burst out laughing , Sasuke stood dumbfounded staring at her. Naruto joined Sakura holding Hinata's waist with one of his arms.
"Sasuke, *snort* it seems like *snort, snort* you lost!" Sakura said not willing to stop laughing. I'm surrounded by idiots. He thought.
"Anyhow" She continued "Do we wait for our backup or go face Akatsuki on our own?"
"Well…" Naruto replied "I have a plan. For now we wait."
Team Gai crossed the border about five hours ago. They stopped to rest at midnight and now are about 2 hours from their goal. Lee and Gai kept racing, Lee falling an inch behind, Neji and Tenten simply following them side-by-side.
"Lee, you're making a great job in this race. I can almost see you glowing with the Power of Youth." Gai said, with a somehow mocking tone in his voice. "BUT IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS!" He dashed forward, leaving Lee a dozen meters behind. He gasped and too ran as fast as he could.
Neji and Tenten just sighed doubling the pace to keep up with the 'green beasts'.
Tsunade was free of paperwork for a day, thanks to her hard work (HARD WORK? IMPOSSIBLE! Too OOC.), so she went to spend the day at the Hot Springs.
"Ahhh." She sighed in pleasure "it sure is comfy in here." Shizune who was next to her said:
"Yes, but we better get out or Tonton will turn into a big piece of bacon."
"HUH? Why are you here, Shizune?"
"Oh, please. If I let you alone for a minute you would lose all of Konoha's funds in a game of Poker."
"I would NOT!"
"Would, too!"
"Not!"
"Too!"
"Not!"
"Oink…"
At the village's main gate, three ninja were talking to the guards.
"Who are you and what do you seek in our village?"
"I'm the Kazekage of the Sand and, after days of hard work, I decided to take a nice long vacation with my siblings." The red-haired pointed at the other two ninja.
"We informed the Hokage about our visit." The only Kunoichi present remembered.
"Ahhh! Yes, the Kazekage, Gaara of the Desert and his siblings Temari and Kankuro, welcome to Konoha."
"Yeah and sorry for the misunderstanding." The other guard said bowing. "I'll show you to the Hokage's tower. She'll let you sleep in a mansion she rented especially for you.
"Arigato." Gaara said, following him.
Naruto and Hinata were inside the tent chatting and kissing once in a while.
"HEY! Are you watching, Lisa-chan?" Naruto asked. Uhm… no. *Sweatdrops*.
"Okay." He resumed.
As I was saying: Naruto and Hinata were inside the tent, while Sasuke and Sakura were outside, waiting impatiently for back-up to arrive. Silence…
"Uhm… Sakura-chan?" Sasuke asked.
"Yes?"
"I think it's about time we talked about the whole soul-mate thing." Sakura froze.
"Oh… w-what's to talk about? I mean, yeah sure, we saw each other and are soul-mates, but there's really nothing to say."
"How about you start by confessing to me?" Sakura turned to look at him.
"Sasuke-kun, you know how I feel. Not only I've been telling it for four and a half years, but it's also obvious. There's nothing else I can do about it." Sasuke was searching for an answer when Team Gai appeared in front of them.
"Naruto, Hinata!" Sasuke called. "Quit making love and come out of the tent." They could hear Hinata's soft giggle.
"Whatever, Sasuke." Naruto replied unzipping the tent and holding it open while Hinata exited. The couple joined them and received a confused look from Neji. They greeted them.
"First of all:" Gai started "Who is the team leader for this mission?"
"I am." Naruto said "And it's about time you got here now I can finally explain my plan." He sat down on a log, using a bolder as a table, opening a scroll and taking out a pen. He began drawing a Sketch. "Okay, so here's the thing. There are exactly 6 members of Akatsuki left, although we are not sure how many are at the base. The Hokage presumes they're having a meeting every day, to plan their next moves. I'm 100% percent sure at least 2 members are there." He explained pointing at two figures he had drawn.
"Sasuke, you'll be the first to go in, but, since they're after you, Gai-sensei will go with you. You will just have to spy on them and get information. But if you get caught, this is what we'll do: If there are two members each one of you fights one, if there are four, you'll fight two at a time and so on." He added two figures to the picture, one with duck-butt hair and another with bowl-hair and thick eyebrows. "Hinata and Lee will be hiding ½ a kilometer south, Neji and I will be hiding ½ a kilometer north." Hinata groaned in disappointment.
"What about Sakura and I?" Tenten asked.
"Tenten, you'll have a big role in my plan. You and Sakura will be on the ceiling using the invisibility jutsu… You all know it, right?" They nodded. "Good. Try NOT to use your chakra in anyway except to hold yourselves to the ceiling, or they'll spot you. Tenten, your job is not only to protect Sakura, our only medical ninja, but also, we will all be wearing wireless radios, when I give you the signal, you throw everything you got at the Akatsuki." He drew Tenten and Sakura on the ceiling, lighter than the rest of the characters, so they could understand; they were under an invisibility jutsu.
"That's when Lee and I come in. If they got hit by what Tenten throws, we'll finish them off, but if Neji and Hinata notice we need back-up they come and join the fight." Naruto added the rest of the team to the picture. "Of course this whole plan won't be necessary if Sasuke and Gai don't get detected, but you" he pointed at Sakura and Tenten "will be on the ceiling ready for battle." He finished. Team Gai stared at him dumbfounded.
"What? Does the plan suck?"
"No!" Neji said "Exactly the opposite. Weren't you supposed to be the one without the brains?"
"This is the new Naruto." Sakura said showing no signs of surprise but smiling at their expressions.
"Of course, I'm open for other strategies." Naruto added packing the scroll and pen in his bag. There was a long silence.
"I think your plan is perfect for this. This is only one of the things that show your Power of Youth." Lee said giving Naruto thumbs up.
"Okay, then. We'll let team Gai rest an hour or two from their ride and then we'll leave." Naruto stood up taking Hinata with him. "Let's go, Hina-chan." She smiled and followed him inside the tent and they resumed their conversation.
"Wow." Tenten said. "When did this happen?"
"What do you mean?" Sakura asked.
"Naruto and Hinata."
"Oh my god! You are NOT going to believe this. Sasuke and I woke up at the same time this morning, Naruto and Hinata weren't in the tent. So we unzipped it, trying not to make any noise and what do we see? We see them practically making-out." Tenten shrieked.
"YOU-ARE-JOKING! Oh my goodness! Tell me more!"
"So then, both of us just stood there… blablablabla" Sasuke sighed and helped team Gai set their own tent. When they were done, they looked back at the girls. Tenten shrieked every time Sakura finished a sentence and vice-versa.
"TENTEN, IT'S TIME TO REST." Neji yelled. The girls stopped chatting.
"You'll tell me all about it later." Sakura said.
"Promise." So she entered the tent. Sasuke looked at his watched. It was 9 am. Lee had told them they already had breakfast, and so had Naruto and Hinata.
"Sakura, we should have break—"A giggle came from inside the purple tent 'Naru-kun!' Hinata said still giggling. "I just lost my appetite." (A/N: Before you think their having sex inside the tent: They're not! It was just a joke Naruto told and Sasuke got it wrong). Sakura just sighed and threw him a box with rice-balls inside.

So there you have it! So it's possible that chapter 5 will be out this week!
