I stared up at the school, my golden eyes widening as I saw how big it was. Four stories high, it towered over me.
I took a quick gulp and headed inside. 1-A, first door I saw. My classroom. I nervously pushed my hair back and reached out to open the door.
I was greeted by stares. I could see Hiro in the front but he refused to look at me. Some of the girls in the class giggled to each other, pointing at my eyes and hair. I was optimistic, but even I could tell this wasn't going to go well.
"Ah, Ms. Sohma. Welcome. I am your teacher and these are your classmates. Everyone, this is Kisa Sohma, new student. Kisa, tell us something about yourself," the teacher instructed.
"Yes, please do," a girl narrowed her eyes from the front row.
I swallowed again, "I-I'm Kisa Sohma, I love to read and draw."
The teacher waited to hear more. "I live with my mother and-"
"Hiro, are you two related?" the girl asked, interrupting me.
Hiro glanced up at me and then looked away, "Yeah."
"Do you like, know each other well?" she asked again.
I was about to respond yes but Hiro got there first, "No, we hardly know each other. This is the first time I've ever seen her."
I felt so sad when he said that. He was... not my friend anymore.
"Ms. Sohma, sit down."
I blushed in embarrassment and chose a seat in the far back corner, away from everyone else and took out my books. I wish I was home schooled, but then I'd have to be near Akito, and there's nothing worse than that. School can't be that bad. I'll give it another try.
