The Heart Wants what it Wants
Chapter 1
"Mom, are you SURE you want to do this? What if they EAT you?", the young blond woman frowned at the older red head as they unloaded a suitcase from the back of a car. The older of the two laughed out loud as she said, "Then I die happy…you know I've wanted to do this for years…now that I have the money, this is a dream I INTEND to fulfill! What about you, honey? Change your mind and come with me? You can stay on the boat if you want…" The blond frowned again and pulled the handle of the suitcase up and said, "No thanks! I have NO intention of getting anywhere close to a critter with teeth bigger than my hand…..no way, nuh uh..not happening! With my luck, the stupid shark will EAT me and leave you alone!"
Laughing the redhead slung a carryon bag over her shoulder and picked up her purse before holding her hand out for the suitcase. The blond grinned and said, "I'll walk you in, Mom." Chuckling, the elder of the two said, "AS far as you can babe…remember, they won't let you past security without a ticket….change your mind yet?"
The two continued the good natured bickering as they walked into the small airport toward the security office. Against the rules, the people at the airport allowed the younger woman to sit with her mother until they called her flight. Standing, the older woman hugged her daughter close to her and smiled as she said, "That's me babe….I love you honey, and I'll see you in three weeks. Don't do anything I wouldn't do…."
"HA! That leaves me a LOT of wiggle room!"
"Ha ha….take care of my critters, ok?"
"No mom, I'm going to have Avalon Pot Pie for dinner tomorrow!"
"Brat!"
"Yep!...have a good flight mom. Call me when you get there?"
Wiggling her cell phone, the redhead grinned and said, "You know it baby doll!"
"Right here, Ms Jones… once we're in the air, I'll be back with some refreshments. Thank you for letting us put you up here…we have a very small flight and it's easier to keep all the passengers in one section."
"Hey, upgrade to first class..works for me. Thanks" The redhead finished putting her carryon and purse into the overhead and sat down, looking out the window and holding back tears as she thought, "I hope Deanna and Daniel get home ok…I almost backed out, I HATE leaving her. But its only 3 weeks…"
