Who's conning who?

Hats off to the Top Hat Job. This first bit of dialog is from the episode Top Hat Job Season 2 of Leverage. Just my thoughts on Nathan's thoughts. He's always thinking.

"That's why I grow my own food."

"Where do you find the time?" Sophie asked, amazed by this fact.

"You make time. I only sleep 90 minutes a day."

I'm not thinking about this. First Erik with a K is evil. Now Eliot grows his own food and sleeps only 90 minutes a day?

What is Sophie thinking, falling for that? Eliot was the one that slept from Belgium to Brussels. He was the one that slept all the way back from Bermuda. He brings take-out food to my place three times a week!

Hardison is rambling. Trojan phones, internal emails. I need something useful. Blah, blah, blah. Come on Hardison, keep talking. Something useful about now, please. And that picture of Steve from Accounts Receivable in a speedo is not helpful! Blah, blah, office politics.

Wait. Eliot was lying. Right to her face. He looked Sophie in the eye and lied right to her face. I don't think he's ever done that before. Has he? Eliot doesn't lie to the team. Does he? He's a terrible liar. Did we do that? Did we teach him how to lie? Was it because Sophie ran a con on us? Is this some kind of weird payback? What about the cowboy code? Damn. I under-estimate that man.

Wait. State of the company. Hardison said state of the company meeting. I can use that. I can't believe I have to explain corporate functions to this crew. There is something wrong here when they are all happy they never had real jobs. We'll go in as entertainment. I like it. It's got flair.

I'm not sure I like this new skill Eliot's learned, but I like that even I under-estimate him. I can use that. That's good. I need to think about this. But I'm not thinking about this now.

The End – for now.
