"Ouch! What 'cha do that for, Kitsune?" Teppei said, rubbing his forehead, already developing a bump.
"You always sleep in, so I thought you deserved it." He said, scratching his blonde-orange ear.
Teppei tried to swack his head, but since Kitsune was a fox, skillfully dodged it, and then punched him in the stomach.
"Urk!" Teppei said, jolting up. "I give up." He said, getting up out of his floor mat.
"You could put a shirt on you know." Kitsune said, licking his hand and then ran it through his hair.
Teppei sighed. "Why should I? You're not the only one who lives here, you know." He stretched, and slid open the door. He walked out onto the porch, and then unfurled his black wings. "Hm… it's gonna be a nice day today. Nice flying weather." He said, and flew up to the roof. He took his regular perch on the highest point of it, far away from everything. "Maybe I should eat breakfast up here." He said, and dove from the roof, stopping right before the ground and his nose met. He walked the steps up to the porch and bumped into Tanuki.
"Hey, 'morning Tanuki… sorry 'bout that…" Teppei said, bending over to grab the dirty plates that Tanuki dropped when he bumped into him.
"It's fine. Yuki and Kitsune are cleaning up now, so you better hurry and grab something while you still can." Tanuki said, and waved him away.
Teppei made his way through the house into the kitchen, spying the plate that was prepared for him. "Yuki?" he called into the washroom.
"Hm?" she said, and emerged from the room.
Teppei blushed. She was so beautiful, with her long, flowing, black hair and white kimono. Her black eyes where looking at him, but he knew that she wasn't really looking. She was rummaging through his thoughts, and he quickly thought about something else, like flying.
"You called for me, so what do you want?" she said, and glided right past him to gather the rest of the dirty plates.
"Oh, I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to eat up on the roof." Teppei said, and grabbed the plate of steaming curry and rice. He reached out for his chopsticks and soy sauce. "I'll be up in my usual spot if you need me." he said, and ran out of the room.
