"I love you."

Kurt and Blaine were sitting at a table, drinking coffee in The Lima Bean. Sure, Blaine had been staring at him, smitten, the whole time that Kurt was talking, but he still hadn't expected this.

Kurt had just taken a mouthful of his coffee and was now choking on it.

"Oh god, Kurt. I am so sorry."

Blaine jumped out of his chair and started clapping Kurt on the back.

After what seemed like hours, but was in reality only half a minute, Kurt spat out the drink and relaxed in his seat.

"I'm really bad at this, huh? I declare my love for you and you nearly die."

"No, it's not that. You're too good at this. Give me a heads up next time you want to confess your love for me so I have nothing in my mouth to choke on. God, listen to me carry on. What I meant to say was- Blaine Warbler, I love you too."

They stared at each other in silence for a while before Kurt suddenly spoke.

"Oh, look who's here!"

Sam and Mercedes had just come up behind them and Blaine, caught off guard and with his coffee cup in his hand, flailed, sending his cup flying their way, spilling coffee all over them.

"I am so sorry. You guys surprised me. Did I mention that I was sorry?"

Both the victims of Blaine's flying coffee struggled to maintain distressed expressions.

Mercedes spoke.

"Now you have to make it up to us."

"How?"

This time it was Sam that spoke.

"Sit there while we do this."

And with that, both Sam's and Mercedes' hands picked up Kurt's forgotten coffee cup and tipped the contents on a shocked Blaine's head.

Soon, both couples were doubled over laughing an even Kurt, despite his protests, had their clothing saturated with coffee.

After their laughter had died down and Sam and Mercedes had headed off to change out of their wet, coffee stained clothes, Blaine told Kurt what he had observed.

"Sam and Mercedes are definitely together."

"Duh. I could tell from the way they laughed, shared one mind and kept looking at each other. I wonder who they think they're fooling?"

"Me too. Now, come along, Kurt. We gotta gay."

"Yeah, I feel that urge too."
