Interesting pairing, I know.
Maureen's POV
"I'll have a blue lagoon please." I said as I sat on the barstool.
"Here. I didn't like mine." Someone handed me a drink. I looked at it hesitantly. "Don't worry I don't have cooties." A high pitched southern drawl brought me out of my thoughts.
The woman was very petite, blonde, and dressed in what one would call skimpy clothing. Of course, not for me. She was wearing a V neck tanktop and a cranberry mini skirt that you could see her liver in. Being the person I am, I began to flirt.
"Hi there." I said seductively. "Thank you for the drink."
"No problem, sweetheart! I'm April. Rhodes." She stuck out her hand.
"Maureen Johnson." I took her hand and shook it a little longer than I probably should have. "So why are you in New York? I can tell by your accent you don't live here."
"Trying to make my way on the big Broadway stage." She said softly.
"You're a performer? So am I!" I grinned stupidly.
"Are you trying to make your way on Broadway, too?" She asked scooting her barstool a little closer to me.
"I do protests, but my dream is definately to be on Broadway."
"I tried to do an all white version of the Wiz. It didn't work well. I'm currently trying to write my own musical."
"An all white version?" I laughed softly. "That's a pretty clever idea. Your own musical?"
"Yes, an all white version." She smiled wholeheartedly. "Thank you, and it's going to be based on my lifestory."
Now let me tell you one thing. Maureen Johnson never feels guilty. Ever. But right now I was. I had a gnawing feeling that I was cheating on my Pookie. Again. Of course, this woman and I had so many things in common that Joanne and I could never speak about. That's the reason I had an immediate attraction to her. Then again, I've probably only been talking to her for about two minutes and I already wanted to invite her into my bed. That's the way I am though, and from what I could tell, she was too. We understood each other.
"That's awesome." I exclaimed.
"Thank ya, honeybee!" She smiled sweetly as she took another swig of her cocktail.
"So where are you originally from?" I ask her.
"I'm from a small ass town in Ohio. It's called Lima. Lima, Ohio. You?"
"Hicksville, New York. You can take the girl out of Hicksville, but you can't take the Hicksville out of the girl!" She giggled at this which was music to my ears. It was soft and childish. "So, for this muscial you're writing," I started. "do you have anyone casted yet?" I ask innocently.
"I don't even know you, but I know you're asking for a role. I'll give you one. Mostly because no one wants to be in my musical." She smiled.
I smiled. This was my chance to get even closer to this exhilarating woman.
"Do you know what role I could have?"
"I'm guranteeing you a part, but there is no way in hell I'm going to let you in without an audition. Sorry doll face." I shrugged.
"Fair enough. So when does rehearsal start?"
Short, sweet, and semi cute. I hate this story SO MUCH, but I love the pairing. They just work so well together! They're both slutty (no offense), they both want to be performers, and they both don't give a damn what other people think. Their personalities are practically exact. Review and tell me if you like it!
