Medjai? How did I even know the name? Flashes of battles fought in desert sands came back to me, along with his face. Imhotep? Yes, that was his name. I didn't know why those two names kept coming back to me lately, in fact I didn't even start to remember these dreams until two years ago.
I know it had something to do with this man sleeping in my bed, and the recent attacks, but I didn't want to face it. It was a warm Egyptian night, and I decided that I was never going to get to sleep anyways on this floor, so I wrapped myself in a sheer silky robe and walked out onto the balcony.
I winced as I felt a wrenching feeling in my leg. I made it to a chair next to the balcony opening and looked down. Something red was seeping through the bandage on my leg. Blood. My blood.
Once again, my memories decided to re-emerge from my subconscious at the last moment. The man in my bed was the one who bandaged my leg and brought me back here. But how did he know where I lived?
I guess it didn't really matter. He saved me from some weird wrapped up attackers which goes on the 'good' list for people to have sleeping in my bed. Wait, why was I attacked? No wait that's not right, I walked in on some kind of fight. . .I think they were already going at it when I showed up.
It was starting to come back to me. I might as well as have had amnesia at the rate my mind was going. I let out an audible gasp as I tried to stand again, and fell to the floor.
"Are you all right? Here, let me help you." the man said as he helped me back onto the chair.
His touch was warm and soft, and when I looked into his eyes, I could see…dead people lying on the ground all around me. There were little children, bloody and crying in the corner. I looked around and saw no one, there was only blood covered sand all around me. There was a voice calling my name, but it wasn't my real name, my name was lost…
"Alyssa! Alyssa are you all right?" the warrior kept repeating as he held me up.
