He made him feel young again. Oh, he was far from being over the hill... he had a lot of life in him yet. But when he was with him, the years fell away and the ticking clock no longer mattered. He knew deep down that this wasn't going to last forever, that one of them would fuck up, or that someone would find out. But for now he was happy.
It wasn't just the sex, although it was pretty brutal. It was those moments when they were kids again, that warmed his bitter soul. Play fighting and palling around, playing pranks on the other guys and seeing who would be first to make Charles pinch the bridge of his nose and sigh.
In his arms he was safe, wanted and desired. He was young again, free and with not a care in the world. He would keep him safe, with both his strength and his carefully hidden softness. He was running out of time, and he knew it wouldn't last. But he was happy.
