Summary: When Abigail Hale meets the strange man in the blue box at age ten, she thinks that her life could not get any weirder. But when she meets him again years later what does she do? Throwing a shoe at him seems to be the obvious solution…

Okay, so this is my first story for Doctor Who. It is basically an alternate season 5 so if you're looking for an Amelia Pond, you won't find her here. Please tell me what you think by reviewing, if you don't I'll make sure you get exterminated by a Dalek... okay so I'm pretty lousy when it comes to making threats, but hopeful my writing is a bit better. Constructive criticism welcome.

Disclaimer: I wish I owned Doctor Who, but sadly I don't. I am merely a teenager that has too much free time on her hands.

Abigail Hale hated Sundays. In fact, she hated the weekend altogether. There just wasn't enough to fill the dull hours that spanned throughout the day in the small town of Cavis. At the age of ten, Abigail had to find her fun at the local park, which currently was empty except for her. This was unusual because even though there was only a slide and some monkey bars, it was quite popular amongst the local children.

The most exciting thing that was happening at the moment was the fight going on between two pigeons over a crust of bread. Abigail watched the would-be match of the century from her perch on the monkey bars. The silence was broken by a strange whirring noise and Abigail gaped as a large blue box materialized.

Closing her eyes tightly, Abigail knew that once she opened them there would certainly not be any blue boxes that could appear at out mid air. With only slight trepidation, Abigail opened her eyes. Nope, the blue box was still there, standing some feet away from her. She held her breath and waited for whatever was inside to come out and probably eat her.

A second later the doors swung opened with a slight squeak and out of it, stepped a young man wearing tweed and a bow tie. Abigail let out a sigh of relief. For a minute there she had thought that some kind of alien would jump out... not that she believed in that sort of thing, she was ten years old! Her courage swelled slightly; there was nothing to be afraid of— after all, how dangerous could a guy that dressed like her school librarian, be?

The young looking man that reminded her of her librarian, stooped the ground, picked up a piece of chipped bark and… licked it. Clearly appearances could be deceptive as this guy was obviously mad.

"Oi! What are you doing?" She shouted down at him.

The young man jumped to his feet, his eyes searching around franticly. Abigail rolled her eyes.

"Up here, genius."

"Oh. Human. Right. Hello there human."

His head tilted to the side, examining her. And after the first few seconds Abigail found it very unnerving.

"Um, anything wrong?"

He didn't seem to be paying attention to what she was saying. His eyes followed her as she got carefully down from the monkey bars.

"HA!" he exclaimed, making Abigail jump at least two feet into the air, "I know who you are! You're the one who threw a shoe at me! You're Abigail Hale, Aren't you?"

Abigail's eyes went wide.

"How do you know my name? And what do you mean I threw a shoe at you?"

"What? Oh I must have gotten the timelines mixed up. I've already met you in your future, which happens to be in my past. I knew something was different about you, younger I suppose," he prattled on.

"How do you know my name?" repeated Abigail in a less calm tone. The man had already lost interest in her and had pulled out some weird looking, flat object from his pocket. There was a strange ticking sound coming from it and some red lights flashing. She wasn't sure what it was, but it sure didn't sound too good.

"W-w-what is that," she said in a shaky voice, pointing to the ticking flashing… thing.

"Oh just a heliomagnetic explosive device that some bugger thought would be funny to put in my pocket," he pulled out a thin, silver pen-like thing and looked up at her.

"I'd run if I were you."

And run she did. As she turned a street corner she heard a loud BOOM from the direction from the park. Abigail looked back for a split second before continuing to sprint back to her house, even faster.
