Cooper arrives at Jens apartment soaking wet from the walk from the car to the front door in the pouring rain. Jen answers in her nightshirt. "You look like a drowned rat." Jen tells Cooper.
"I know. It's raining cats and dogs." Cooper laughs at himself. "I never understood why people say that. Do you?"
"No. Come on in."
"Do you have Reilly?" Cooper asks.
"He's right there on the couch." Jen points and Cooper walks to the couch.
"Here, let me throw your clothes in the dryer, you're soaked." Jen starts to unbutton his shirt.
Cooper gently shoves her hand and away. "No that's okay. I'm going straight home after this. I'll change then."
"No silly." Erica starts to unbuckle Cooper's belt. "You'll get sick walking around in wet clothes."
Cooper pushes her hand away again. "I'm a doctor and that's an old wives tale."
"You're so smart." She rubs him in between his legs on top of his pants.
"Have you been drinking?" Cooper asks.
"I had a couple beers. Do you want one?"
"No. I don't want one. I have to get home."
"Will this change your mind?" Jen pulls off her nightshirt. Now she's only wearing panties. "That's right, take a good look. I know you haven't had sex in months. Am I right?"
Cooper looks at her, she is right but he doesn't tell her. "I have to go." He says. Before he can turn for the door she jumps in front of him, hugging him and she kisses his lips. He pushes her away. You need to stop this, Jen, I'm married."
"Married without sex." She laughs and kisses him again while she massages between his legs. He pushes her off again. "You're disgusting.," he tells her. She seems to take offense. "I'm what?"
"You heard me." Cooper backs up towards the door.
"You didn't think I was disgusting last month when I was sucking your dick!" She yells. " You didn't think I was disgusting when you sucked on me until I came in your mouth. You didn't think I was disgusting when we made Ethan!"
"I was drunk and wasn't thinking. I'm not drunk now."
"Well then I suggest you better drink up or I'll call your wife and tell her about our escapades."
"No need, I already told her."
"You did not!"
"Go ahead and ask her. I'm not afraid of you." Cooper walks out the door and slams it.
Jen picks up the phone and calls Charlotte. "Hello" Charlotte answers.
"Hello, Don't you love when Cooper does that thing with his tongue? I come every time he does it to me."
"What the hell?"
"How's Ethan? It's kind of freaky tonight isn't it? You're there cuddling with my little man and I'm here cuddling with your big man."
"Is Cooper there?"
"Yeah, I'll put him on the phone when he's done down there. Oh yeah, Cooper that's the spot."
"You're drunk." Charlotte accuses.
"That's the way me and Cooper like it. We ravage each other when we're drunk. Oh you got it Cooper.. Yes…yes!"
Charlotte hangs up and calls Cooper's number. "Hello."
"Where are you?"
"I'm driving home. Why?
"Are you sure you're not giving Jen a blow job."
"What?"
"Jen just called to ask me if I like that thing you do with your tongue and faked an orgasm over the phone."
"She's drunk, Charlotte. She took her clothes off in front of me when I was just there."
"What'd you do?"
"I had to push her away twice, she didn't back off until I told her she was disgusting. Then she threatened to call you. I told her I wasn't worried. I already told you about that night. The night before you came back to live with me."
"How does she know what you do with your tongue?"
"I must have done it the night I was drunk and conceived Ethan with her. She says I did but I can't remember much about that night. I'm almost home we'll talk again."
Cooper comes in the loft. "I'm sorry, Charlotte, but I didn't touch her tonight. Whatever she said she's lying. I love you."
"I hate this whole situation."
"I do too. I wish I never met Jen."
"Do you really mean that?"
"Of course I do."
"Then, you wouldn't have Ethan."
"The kid doesn't like me, Charlotte. He rather be with you than me and you don't even like kids."
"I like him."
"Yeah, I noticed. Why do you like him?"
"I understand him. My momma was a drunk too. Big Daddy was the one who influenced me. Ethan needs us if he's going to make it."
Cooper's surprised. "Maybe you could be the good influence because he doesn't like me."
"Hang in there, Coop. I think it's just that you're trying too hard. Give it time."
"You're right. I'm not going to push him."
"We'll keep seeing him just one weekend a month but I'm going to do the drop off and pick ups at Jen's for now on."
"That's not a good plan, Charlotte?"
"It's not fair to make Violet and Pete do it. He's only seven. We can't expect them to do it until he's eighteen."
"And you don't trust me to be alone with her?"
"I don't trust her. I'll handle it."
Cooper sits next to Charlotte on the couch. "I couldn't ask for a better woman. I love you."
