Chapter 2

I walked over to the staircase that lead up to the attic. I climbed up the stairs slowly, my heart beating fast. I reached the attic door, my hands shaking, and turend the knob opening it slowly. I stepped inside and the door closed behind me with a loud slam. I reached for the door handle, but something touched my shoulder and whispered, "Hello Marcus."
I turned around, my eyes windened in shock; standing behind me was the same horrible creature from my dream. His wings were out, they were the color of midnight, and sharp claws were digging into my shoulder, his intense bright yellow eyes stared into mine. The only light in the room was the fire that was lit in his hand. He smiled at me his teeth bright white, and whispered inside my head.. "Hello Marcus," his grip tightened on my shoulder, "I've waited so long for this night, and its time for me to feast."
I turned and pulled away from his grip on my shoulder, my sleeve covered in blood. He reached for my arm but I turned around before he could and sprited towards the back of the attic. He flew over to me, cornering me. Looking around for another way out, my eyes locked on the window a few feet behind me. I sighed, my heart racing, and opened the window and jumped.
I landed on the ground with a lond thump. Groaning in pain, I rolled over and wiped the dirt off of me. Looking up in a daze, I didn't see the creature anymore, and then I heard his voice again. "My name is Richard," he said, "Share your story of what happened tonight if you dare, you are very lucky I had other plans tonight. Sleep well dear boy."
