"TYRANTS" - THE TITANS ARE TRANSPORTED TO A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE.
TYRANTS
A spotlight fell upon the empty space infront of Robin, Cyborg (who had a large bowl of popcorn in his hands), Raven and Starfire as they all sat on the couch. Beast Boy, dressed in a black suit complete with bowtie, took the center of the spotlight. Robin coughed and was vehemently ssh-ed by Cyborg. From no where in particular a mic was lowered from above, reaching Beast Boy's lips. He tapped it once, then twice, then once more for good measure, before smiling brightly.
"Presenting the greatest thriller movie known to man-"
Starfire coughed and Raven glared with crossed arms.
He chuckled sheepishly. "And dudettes, it is my great honor to present to you our feature presentation. Hold onto your masks and capes because this is a screamer."
"Oh, just get on with it," Raven complained and was ssh-ed by Cyborg who narrowed his human eye.
"Titans, prepare yourself for... Attack of the Mutant Zombies from Space 3: The Revenge!" Beast Boy held up the DVD for all to see, a gold light shining from it while band music played in the background.
Cyborg sighed and fainted to the floor. Starfire was immediately by his side, fanning him in an attempt to revive the robotic teen.
The spotlight, mic, and suit Beast Boy was using were now all gone. The green Titan grinned as he popped open the box to the DVD. "You guys are going to love this movie," he said, slipping the disc into the player. "It's scarier than Wicked Scary."
Starfire 'eeped' and ducked behind Robin's cape.
A now revived Cyborg spoke next. "Man, I sure am glad there's no crime going on today. I've been waiting to see this movie for months now."
Beast Boy high-fived the robotic teen as he sat down inbetween him and Raven. He kicked his feet up on the table. Now that everyone was seated Robin took the remote off the table and pushed the play button. The screen came to life, the movie's title appearing, but it quickly turned to static.
"Dude, what gives?" Beast Boy asked, leaning in his seat.
"No clue," Cyborg replied. "Maybe the disc is bogus."
"Blasphemy!" Beast Boy cried.
Starfire, who had gotten up and popped the DVD out of the player, examined the disc. "It appears to be in perfect working condition."
"Maybe it's the system," Robin suggested, crossing over to Starfire.
The static stopped and the screen came to life with the faces of Lightning and Thunder.
"Hello, Titans," greeted Thunder.
"Friends, greetings!" said Starfire cheerfully as she floated. "How wonderful of you to call!"
Lightning and Thunder glanced at each other. Thunder muttered something in Lightning's ear, and the thin boy nodded.
Odd. Robin cocked an eyebrow. "So, can we help you guys with anything?"
"Meet us on the roof of your Tower immediately," Lightning commanded.
The screen then went blank.
TT
The trip to the roof of Titans Tower was short, but with all of Beast Boy's complaining (Beast Boy: Dudes! What about the movie?) it seemed much longer. When they reached the top they found Lightning and Thunder waiting for them.
"Ok, so we're all here now," began Cyborg. "What do y'all two need?"
The two brothers glanced at each other.
Thunder looked at the Titans. "Sorry about this," he said before pulling out a small thick disc like device. He pushed the button on it before tossing it to the ground. When the device landed the roof of Titans Tower was engulfed in a blinding white light.
TT
Robin's eyes slowly opened. He felt dizzy, a little bit queasy, but pushed the feelings aside as he got to his feet. He noticed Starfire off to his side and went to help her up. She took his hand and he pulled her to her feet.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yes, I am but... Robin, where are we?"
It was then that Robin noticed the surrounding area. It was Jump City only... broken. The sky was a dark grey with black clouds, the streets were empty and littered with rusty dead automobiles with hanging doors, and the buildings were torn. The windows were shattered, walls completely missing, and rooftops caved in. As the other Titans stood to their feet and took in the sight, Robin's eyes landed on Lightning and Thunder. His eyes narrowed and he strode over to Lightning, grabbing him by his shirt and yanking him forward.
"I want answers now. What happened to Jump City? And what was that strange light on top of the tower? It came from that device you pulled, didn't it?" Robin questioned angrily. "Answer me, Lightning!"
"I am not who you think I am," Lightning said in a femine voice, stepping away from Robin as his body transformed.
Lightning's body transformed into a tall tan girl with long black hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her lips were red and she had black eyes with white pupils. She wore long gloves that started out white and then turned black upon reaching the elbow and up, ending with a yellow armband. Around her neck was a black choker with black straps that connected to her uniform. Her uniform was a leotard that started off with a yellow sweetheart neckline followed by a black and then yellow stripe. The rest of the leotard was white. She also wore black tights under and white thigh high boots with yellow cuffs around her ankles.
"Acting time over," she said with the snap of her fingers. Upon doing this Thunder's body began to transform as well.
Thunder's transformation turned him into a grey skinned boy who was a little shorter than his partner. His eyes were all red and in addition to this he had pointy teeth, claws, and pointy ears. He wore a red shirt which wasn't buttoned all the way with the collar popped. Above that he wore a black leather jacket that reached his knees. He had on dark grey pants, black boots that reached his knees, a black belt, and silver braclets (similar to Wondergirl's own).
The girl spoke. "My name is Mirage. I'm a shapeshifter and I have the ability to project illusions," she said and gestered a hand over to the boy. "That is my partner Nightrider. Follow us."
"Hold on just a minute," interjected Cyborg. "We're not going anywhere with you two until we get some answers."
Robin was in complete agreement. "You can start by telling us why you brought us here."
"It is the mission my leader gave me. It is extremely important that you follow me. Now."
"Sounds like a trap," commented Beast Boy, crossing his arms.
"We do not have time for this," Mirage claimed, irritated.
"Then make time," Raven said, eyes narrowed.
Since the start of the conversation no one had bothered to look at Nightrider who twitched as his eyes zoned in on Starfire. He licked his lips, his sharp teeth bared. In his eyes he saw not the alien princess but food. Delicious food.
He ran to her, not quite with the speed of Kid Flash but fast all the same. Before Starfire knew it his arm was wrapped around her waist, pinning her arm to the side. He sniffed her hair, burying his nose in her red locks. "Your blood smells so good," he said as he lifted her free arm to his lips. He sunk his teeth into her exposed flesh, causing Starfire to scream and writhe in pain.
"Get away from her!" yelled Robin, throwing a birdarang.
Nightrider, who had removed his teeth from Starfire's arm, caught the birdarang without even looking. He turned his gaze towards Robin and smiled as he crushed the birdarang in his hand. "Sorry. I couldn't help myself. The scent of her blood was driving me insane."
"Nightrider, you idiot!" Mirage shouted.
"What? It's not like I hurt her," Nightrider said, lifting his hands up innocently. This action caused Starfire to fall on the floor. His gaze drifted to the fallen girl. "Oops."
Robin gritted his teeth. "Titans, go!"
Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg and Robin took their battle stances, weapons and powers ready for a showdown, but their moment to attack never came. Someone else attacked in their place. A waterfall of green energy engulfed Nightrider during the same time that a combination of blue and black energy targeted Mirage from both sides. Both fell to the ground, unconscious.
The Titans looked up to see the face behind the attack and their eyes widened. Before them was a team of five members.
Perched on top of a building that actually still had a roof was almost an exact replica of Beast Boy. This lookalike was more muscular than Beast Boy, and he wore tattered remains of black shorts. His hair was longer, reaching down to the shoulder blades of his back, and he had sharp claws and teeth.
Next to him was boy similar to Robin. He wore steel toed black boots that reached his knees and black spiked gloves that reached his elbows. A grey body suit adorned his body that had a patch on the chest. The patch was a black circle that sprouted red wings, and in the middle of the circle was a yellow R. He also wore a black cowl and a yellow utility belt. In addition to this he had a black cape with red interior.
Next to him was almost an exact replica of Cyborg. This lookalike had no human features, his body all mechanical. Red replaced blue and black replaced white. His face looked like the face Fixit had once wanted Cyborg to have.
Hovering next to Beast Boy's lookalike was girl similar to Starfire. The outfit she wore was like the one Starfire wore when she first landed on Earth. She wore a Tamarian crown fit for a queen and a long black cape. One of her eyes had three scars going across it that ran down to her cheek.
Hovering next to Cyborg's lookalike was a girl who looked and dressed exactly like Raven. The only difference was her booties, cuffs, and caped hood were pink.
The team of five came down to the street, their eyes locking with the Titans.
"Dudes... they look like us," Beast Boy observed.
"Who... Who are you?" Robin asked softly.
His lookalike answered. "We're you, only from this universe."
TT
Robin's lookalike, known as Renegade in this universe, explained the situation to the Titans. Mirage and Nightrider were members to an evil organization that had been terrorizing Jump City for years. Renegade and his team were the city's only defense against them. Their resulting battles is what caused the city to crumple. His team, however, were winning the fight little by little, and in a last ditch effort of survival Mirage and Nightrider sought out new members for their team.
"That's why they went to your universe and brought you here," Renegade said. "They wanted to use your powers to defeat us, and when they saw that you were resisting they attacked your teammate."
The Titans absorbed all of this information as they sat in the common room in the Tower belonging to their alternates. Robin sat up and crossed over to Renegade, extending his hand. The two boys shook hands.
"We can't thank you and your team enough, Renegade," said Robin, his hand returning to his side. "If you don't mind we would like to speak to Mirage and Nightrider. Those two must still have the device that can take us home."
After the short battle had ended Renegade and his team had rounded in Mirage and Nightrider's unconscious bodies, bringing them back to the tower for holding since their Jump City no longer had a prison.
"We searched them before bringing them here. They don't have any device like the one you described to us earlier. Why don't you and your team rest," Renegade suggested. "It's been a chaotic day for you all. And in the meantime Cyberion can work on a way of transporting you all home."
Cyborg's double, or rather Cyberion, stepped up to Renegade's side. "I will start on it right away."
"Mind if I join you?" Cyborg asked. "I'm curious about the tech you guys have in this universe."
Cyberion looked at Renegade who nodded. He then looked at Cyborg. "Very well."
The two walked off together.
Beast Boy raised his hand like a little boy in grade school. "Oh, oh, oh! I want to see stuff from this universe too!" his eyes had stars in them and he looked at the other green teen in the room. "Got any video games, Animal Boy?"
His double glared at him. "My name is Beastling."
Renegade nudged Beastling and he grunted. "I suppose we can find something to keep you entertained until Cyberion comes up with a device to send you home," Beastling said as he lead the way out. "Follow me."
Beast Boy obeyed.
Raven's double floated over to Renegade's side and pouted. "No fair. How come the boys get to play with their doubles and I don't?"
"They aren't playing with their doubles, Pink Raven," corrected Renegade. He smiled. "Perhaps you should invite Raven to your room."
Pink Raven squeeled happily and zoomed over to Raven's side, grabbing her hand. "That's a great idea! We can do each other's nails and make-up," she jabbed a thumb at Starfire's double. "Darkfire never wants to do that sort of stuff with me."
"I can't imagine why not," Raven replied flatly before being dragged off.
"Perhaps I shall join them," Starfire said, standing up. Upon doing so she felt dizzy and put a hand to her forehead, sitting back down. "Or perhaps not."
"Apparently the effects of Nightrider's bite has not completely worn off. You should rest," Darkfire suggested. She looked at Robin. "As her significant other I suppose you will want to remain by her side."
Robin blushed (was it that obvious he and Starfire were dating?) before nodding and helping Starfire to her feet, making sure to hold on to her incase she became dizzy again.
"Very well. I shall show you both to a room."
She motioned for them to go first, and they did so. As she began to follow Renegade took hold of her arm.
"Keep an eye on them," he whispered in her ear. She nodded and followed the two Titans out the room, the door sealing shut behind them.
TT
"-and this is Bubblegum Bear," Pink Raven introduced, showing Raven her pink teddy bear. "And this is Boo Bear." She plucked a white teddy bear off her shelf as she happily floated off the ground. "Oh, and this is Blue Bear!"
Raven eyed the blue bear in her counterpart's hands. "Aren't you creative."
Pink Raven giggled. "Oh, Raven, you're so funny!"
"Yeah. Hilarious."
"Do you want to see all the shades of nail polish I have? I have over fifty colors."
"I would be disappointed if you didn't," Raven replied sarcastically.
"Well then come on! I have them over h-Ah!" Pink Raven shrieked and hid behind Raven, using her cloak as a shield.
Raven sighed. "Let me guess, you're all out of pink nail polish?"
"Worse! There's a... amouse in my room!"
Raven slapped her forehead. She looked at Pink Raven with a bored expression. "So what? It's just a little mouse."
Pink Raven perked up. "You're right... It is little," she chuckled and four red eyes appeared on her face. Using her powers she created a black snake made of her energy. The black snake easily caught the little mouse who struggled. "Hmm... I wonder tight-" she clenched her fist and the snake's hold on the mouse tightened, causing the mouse to whine "-I have to squeeze until this little mouse meets its doom."
Raven shook her shoulders. "Stop it!"
Pink Raven's eyes narrowed. "Why?"
"Because that mouse is a living creature!"
Pink Raven grinned. "Daddy always said it was within my right to treat creatures however I pleased, especially creatures below me... but, I suppose I'll do things your way," she said, her face turning back to normal. "After all you are the guest of honor."
Raven released the girl's shoulders and watched as the snake Pink Raven had created turned into a cage. Using her powers Pink Raven opened her window and tossed the cage out. Raven's eyes were wide.
Seeing her companion's expression Pink Raven smiled reasuringly. "Relax, my bedroom is on the first floor."
Meanwhile...
Beast Boy sat on the grass, sitting across from his double. Unlike the Tower he lived in which sat on a small island, the T-tower of this universe was surrounded by trees and grass. In fact, their tower stood in the city's park, or what was left of it. Only the land closest to the tower had fresh trees and grass. Beyond that the park had become a dried up waist land.
Beast Boy ducked as a bone was tossed in his direction. His counterpart sat infront of him with a pile of raw meat by his side which he was eatting.
Beastling offered him a chicken leg. "Sure you don't want any?"
Beast Boy fought the urge to puke. "No thanks... I'm good."
Beastling scoffed and raised the chicken leg to his lips. He lowered it almost instantly when his nose twitched. "You smell that?"
"Smell what?"
Beastling turned his head to the side where the scent was coming from. He saw a small mouse, who saw him and held up a sign which read 'NOT ANOTHER ONE'. He licked his lips. "Just called me Tom because that Jerry is mine!"
Beastling sprung into action and chased the mouse into the bushes, a dust cloud rising in his wake.
Beast Boy fell backwards, unable to fight the queasy feeling that had consumed him while watching Beastling eat lunch.
TT
"So... what does this thing do?" Cyborg asked, holding up a glowing blue cube.
"..."
Cyborg looked over at his alternate who hovered over some contraption, sparks lighting up his face every now and then as he fiddled with it with his tools. "You're not much of a talker, are you?"
"..."
Cyborg crossed his arms and leaned against the desk behind him. "So how come, you know, you're the way you are? All robot?"
"My human side was hindering me so I simply upgraded."
"Hindering you? Being part human is an asset. It's-"
"Degrading and insufferable. I'm surprised you haven't come to this conclusion yourself."
"But your humanity-"
"Humanity means nothing to me," Cyberion said. "Becoming more powerful is all that matters."
TT
Darkfire had allowed Starfire and Robin to rest in her room for the time being. Apparently Renegade was off preparing the five Titans with suitable rooms and they were not yet ready. Robin glanced around the room. It was so unlike the one his Star slept in. The main difference between the two were Darkfire's choice in decor. Her room had various weapons on the wall, a desk with different types of Tamarian headwear, and a large mural of her slaying an alien beast. Robin cringed, it wasn't the most welcoming place. On the bright side his Star was resting comfortably. He sat up from his chair besides the bed. Darkfire stood up from her chair as well.
"Do you require something?" she asked.
"Uh... just the bathroom," he answered hesitantly. Was it him, or did she not want him to leave?
There was a pause and her eyes narrowed, regarding him. "Very well. Make a right and continue down the hall, then make another right. The bathroom is right there."
"Thanks," Robin said, leaving the room.
TT
In actuality Robin did not need to use the bathroom. He just wanted to stretch his legs. Honest. But if he had told Darkfire that he doubted she would have let him leave. Robin explored the tower, "stretching his legs". He hadn't meant to go far, and he was just about to turn around and return to the girls, when a pain wretching scream filled his ears. Robin's masked eyes widened and he ran in the direction of the scream.
TT
Hidden in the basement of the T-tower was the holding area for prisoners. Robin spied the scene below, safely hidden in the shadows on the top of the stairs. Below him was Renegade, Mirage and Nightrider. Nightrider was strapped to a metal table with various wires attached to him which lead to a generator. To the side was Mirage trapped behind a wall of blue energy.
Renegade stood before Nightrider, a remote in his hand. "Where is your base hidden?"
Nightrider smiled at him. "Bite me."
Renegade's eyes narrowed and he pushed the button on his remote. The generator's power source lighted up and sent an electrical current through the wires, electrocuting Nightrider who screamed in agony.
"Stop it!" Mirage yelled, pounding her fist on her cell only to be burned by it's blue wall.
"I wouldn't do that again if I were you," Renegade said. He turned back to Nightrider. "Tell me what I want to know."
"Not in a million years," Nightrider said through heavy breaths.
Renegade gritted his teeth. "This is pointless you know. Your plan has already failed. The Teen Titans are on our side and once Cyberion figures out a way to send them home your only hope of ever defeating us will be gone."
"Even if you take me out the rest of the Team Titans will still fight. One day the Teen Tyrants will be defeated!" Nightrider exclaimed.
Renegade didn't reply to that statement. Instead he turned away. "If you'll excuse me I have guest I need to attend to."
Renegade went up the stairs then, none the wiser that just seconds before Robin had made his escape.
TT
Night time had fallen over the city and the Teen Titans were in the rooms provided by their alternates. They waited until midnight, to be on the safe side, before finally leaving their rooms and meeting outside in the halls.
After the incident Robin had witnessed he had alerted Raven using their mind link, who then informed the others. They had already been suspicious of their alternates, and what Robin saw confirmed their thoughts. The Teen Tyrants were evil.
Robin's plan was simple. They would leave their rooms and sneak down to the basement. They would free Mirage and Nightrider and make their escape to safety. So far their plan was moving along without interruption and they made it safely to the basement.
Mirage looked up only to glare at them. "Oh look, Nightrider, it's the Teen Titans. Did the Tyrants send you here?"
"We're here on our own accord," Robin said, working on the key pad to her cell. After a few tries it successfully opened. "We're getting you two out of here."
Mirage smirked at him. "About time."
Cyborg, who was carrying Nightrider on his back, ran up to Robin with the others.
"Let's go," the boy wonder commanded and they headed for the stairs.
They didn't even reach the first step when Renegade voice floated down to their ears. "You're not going anywhere."
Robin gritted his teeth as his eyes landed on the Tyrants.
Pink Raven giggled as four red eyes appeared on her face, her hands engulfed in black energy. "What should we do with them, Renegade?"
Her leader smirked. "Make them regret ever coming to our universe."
The Tyrants and Titans prepared themselves, ready to strike, when the ground rumbled and split into two, creating a dirt cloud. When the dirt settled three people stood on the edge of the gaping hole.
The person on the left was a tall slim green boy. On his head was yellow antennas and he wore yellow rimmed black goggles over his eyes. In his hands was a large futuristic gun.
To the right was a girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore a brown leaotard with long sleeves and yellow cuffs that reached her elbows. Her brown leotard was framed on it's side by yellow and had a yellow collar. She wore a yellow belt and brown mask that exposed her eyes and the part of her face below her nose. Brown boots with yellow trim reached her knees and her hands glowed yellow.
The girl in the middle had short messy blonde hair, pink lips, and blue eyes which were behind yellow goggles that attached to a dark red mask that framed her face and attached to the neck of her costume. The mask lead to her dark red cape with tattered ends and a yellow interior. A yellow bird symbol with sprouted wings was over the chest to her red suit that had orange flame details on the upper arms and thighs. Dark red boots connected to the orange flames on her thighs. Dark red gloves connected to the tattered orange cuffs on her wrists. Around her waist was a black belt with a yellow bird symbol as a buckle, the same bird which was on her chest. Yellow pockets lined the belt.
Beast Boy's eyes were glued to the girl with long blonde hair. Could it be...? "Who are you?"
The girl with long blonde hair spoke. "Name is Terra."
The green boy with the gun answered. "Ambush Bug at your service."
Finally the girl in the middle spoke. "I'm Flamebird. Leader of the Team Titans," she looked over at Robin. "I'm the reason you and your team are here."
"And we're here to rescue you," Ambush Bug added.
"Rescue them?" Renegade growled. As if he would let that happen. "Tyrants, go!"
Flamebird reacted quickly and threw several smoke bombs on the ground, engulfing the room in a thick grey smoke. When the smoke cleared the Titans, both Teen and Team, were gone.
TT
All of the Titans had escaped through the tunnel Terra created after Flamebird threw her smoke bombs. After everyone was in Terra sealed the hole and they retreated. The tunnel was illuminated by the flashlights Flamebird, Robin, and Cyborg had, as well as Starfire's starbolt. Terra took the lead with Raven as they lead the way through the tunnel.
Beast Boy walked alongside Terra. "So, thanks for saving our butts back there."
"It was my pleasure," Terra replied with a smile.
Beast Boy blushed, something that didn't go unnoticed by Raven. The young half demon frowned and adverted her eyes.
It wasn't long before they arrived to the Team Titans underground base. For an underground base it was well advanced. There was tons of technology everywhere, several doors that lead to their sleeping chambers, a lot of light, a metal tiled floor, and even a sitting area.
"We're home!" called Nightrider, stepping into the center. "And we brought friends!"
From up above flew down two people. One was a girl, a little on the short side, with big blue eyes and short spikey orange hair. She had large red feathered wings, white gloves, red booties with a white cuff attaced to them, and pointy ears. She wore a sleeveless white turtleneck leotard that had a red stripe down the middle that expanded wider when it reached her chest and ended on her shoulders with a feathered like cap sleeve. A dark red belt hung loosely around her waist.
The boy next to hre was tall and muscular. He wore a golden mask with a wing design framing the sides where the ears would be. Yellow arm bands were on both his arms. He wore golden armor that covered everything from the neck down to his waist. He wore white pants and yellow boots that pointed up to his knee. A red belt with a yellow buckle was around his waist. The boy had gold armored gloves that reached his elbow and had three sharp claws attached to it. Golden mechanical wings were attached to the back of his armor.
"Where's L'il Lobo?" Mirage asked.
"Probably still in bed," said Ambush Bug. "I'll get him."
Ambush Bug vanished in a green puff and reappeared seconds later with a short muscular boy at his side. The boy had spiked black hair that put Robin's to shame, red eyes framed by black tattoos, pointy teeth, and grey skin. He wore a black leather vest, a dark grey short sleeved shirt, a black studded belt with a skull buckle, fingerless black gloves, and blue jeans. On his feet were steeled toe, spike bottom, black boots that reached his knees. Attached to the boots were silver knee protectors with a red star on them.
"Dangit, Bug," the biker teen whined. "I was sleeping."
"Sleep time's over. We have guest," said Flamebird as she walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Allow me to introduce you to the rest of my team. This is L'il Lobo."
L'il Lobo spat on the ground.
Flamebird walked over to the boy in armor. "Golden Eagle."
"Hello," Golden Eagle greeted.
"And this is Redwing, our newest recruit," Flamebird said, gestering to the girl with orange hair.
"It's nice to meet you," she said excitedly, flying over to the Teen Titans and shaking each of their hands. Once she was done she returned to her team's side.
"Now that introductions are done I suppose you want some answers," Flamebird said to the other team.
Flamebird told the Teen Titans her story. She was the leader of the Team Titans and they had been fighting a losing battle against the Teen Tyrants. The Teen Tyrants were horrible. They only cared about power and taking over the city. It was them who had wrecked the city so much. Try as they might they just couldn't beat them. That's when Golden Eagle, L'il Lobo, and Ambush Bug got to work on creating a device that could tap into the power of the multiverse.
"What's the multiverse?" Beast Boy asked.
"It's the plain that holds multiple universes," explained Golden Eagle. "We tapped into a link that connected to your universe and studied you. We came to the conclusion that you were the best candidates to hlep us defeat the Tyrants. After all you are them in a way. We figured you could exploit some sort of weakness that would tip the battle in our favor."
Flamebird took over the conversation once more. She explained how she sent Mirage and Nightrider to their world to bring them to their universe. Mirage's powers were perfect because it could easily lure them to their universe.
Robin sat up angrily from his spot in the sitting area where they were being told all of this. "What you did was wrong," he said, pointing an accusing finger at Flamebird. "You tricked us here!"
"Only because we didn't think you would agree to coming," Flamebird interjected.
"And he," Robin pointed at Nightrider. "Attacked my girlfriend!"
"Nightrider did not attack Starfire. He's a vampire," Flamebird explained. "She was never in any real danger. His bites aren't lethal. They just leave you exhausted afterwards."
"That's not the real problem here. Th real problem here is that you put my team in danger!"
"I had no other choice!" Flamebird shouted. "My team is in danger, too! I needed a way to save them. A way to save our home."
There was a moment of silence as the two leaders stared each other down.
Robin sighed. "I understand... There was a time when I acted rashly to protect my team," he admitted, thinking back to when he disguised himself as Red X and was forced to be an apprentice to Slade. "I would do anything to protect them."
Flamebird looked hopeful. "So then you'll help us?"
With a smile Robin looked back at his team. "You guys in?"
"Heck yea!" Beast Boy cheered.
"You know it!" Cyborg replied.
"Let's do the kicking of their butts!" Starfire announced, hovering off the ground and she pumped her fist.
A small smile came to Raven's lips. "What she said."
"Perfect timing too," said Golden Eagle over by the computer screen. "The Tyrants are attacking the city."
TT
The Tyrants were making a show of destroying things in the city. Pink Raven especially was having the most fun as she tore a car apart piece by piece.
She squealed in delight. "This is so much fun! Darkfire, c'mon! I bet I can break more buildings than you."
Darkfire smirked, her eyes glowing. "We shall see about that."
The two girls took to the sky and blasted off. Smoke rose rose in the air after building after buidling came down.
"You are sure they'll come?" Cyberion asked.
"Positive," Renegade answered.
Beastling's ears twitched as he sensed something. He looked at the ground. "Move!"
His alert came to late and the ground cracked beneath them, separating the three and throwing them in different directions.
Cyberion landed on his back and when he stood up his gaze fell upon dozens of L'il Lobos. Cyberion readied his sonic cannon.
L'il Lobo smirked and pumped his fist in the air. "Attack!"
The Lobos released a battle roar and ran forward. Cyberion easily blasted them away with his cannon but they kept pushing forward, some even using their strength to pick up abandoned cars to throw at him. The robot easily avoided that attack, and after some time passed he could see the Lobos were getting tired.
"Resistance is futile. Give up now," Cyberion said.
L'il Lobo grinned. "Give up? Ha! And why would I do that when I'm about to win?"
"Correction. It is I who has the lead in this battle."
"You sure about that?" L'il Lobo inquired as he and the other Lobos separated into two groups, making a path. At the end of this path was Cyborg and Ambush Bug, his cannon and his gun connected by wires as they stood shoulder to shoulder.
Cyberion readied his cannon, prepared to fire at them, but nothing happened. He looked at his arm in puzzlement and saw the screen on it flashing zero percent.
"You're all out of power," Cyborg said. "You drained your battery fighting Lobo's clones."
With that being said Cyborg and Ambush Bug used their combine sources to fire a powerful shot at Cyberion.
Meanwhile... The powerful shot created by Cyborg and Ambush Bug released a large amount of light that caught the attention of Darkfire. She narrowed her eyes and flew towards the source but her path became blocked by Golden Eagle.
"Hello, Darkfire," he said.
Darkfire growled at him. "You... I'm glad you are my opponent. I shall pay you back for the scars you gave my face!"
"I'm not your only opponent."
Her brows raised when Starfire came into view, hovering by Golden Eagle's side. She frowned. "Very well. Then I shall destroy you both!"
She charged at them, fist powered by her energy, but they ducked out of the way. She zoned in on Golden Eagle who was closer and fought him with hand to hand combat. She gained the upperhand for just a moment before Starfire blasted her. Golden Eagle and Starfire took turns fighting her which proved to be a burden for Darkfire since she couldn't focus on one opponent for very long. Eventually Starfire was the one to lay a powerful punch on her that sent her falling to the ground. Her rough landing created a crater and she slowly sat up. She glared at her opponents in the sky, her bolts ready to fire, andwas completely unaware of the bat that had flown in behind her.
"Nighty night," said Nightrider as he transformed into a human behind her and delivered the final blow which was a bite to her neck, rendering her unconscious.
Meanwhile... Pink Raven, who's mind was still focused on her contest with Darkfire, turned her head from side to side in search of her teammate.
"Darkfire? Darkfire!" she crossed her arms and huffed. She closed her eyes. "I'm going to close my eyes and count to three. If you're not there when I open my eyes I'm going to be so mad. One... two..."
"Three."
Pink Raven opened her eyes to see Redwing. She smiled. "Oh, so you've come to play?"
"Yeah, and it's a game called Kick Your Butt," Redwing replied.
Pink Raven now sported four eyes. "Sounds fun."
She flew towards Redwing who quickly dodged and took off. Pink Raven followed her.
"Running away?" the demon asked, shooting a lightning bolt of black energy at her opponent.
Redwing dodged it and then turned sharply, cutting in between two buildings. Pink Raven followed and saw Redwing floating there.
"Gotcha!" Pink Raven cried as she lunged at the girl. She expected to come in contact with her, but instead she slipped right threw her and crashed face first into a wall and then dropped the ground. Pink Raven rubbed her head and looked up to see a smug Mirage and a laughing Red Wing.
"I can't believe you fell for that," Mirage said with a smirk.
Pink Raven stood up, ready to attack, but became frozen when she heard a familiar chant and fingers press against her temples.
"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos."
Pink Raven's eyes closed and she slumped to the ground, Raven standing over her.
Far from Raven's battle was Beastling. He was fighting against Beast Boy, or rather he was teasing him. As Beast Boy changed from animal to animal, such as a rhino and elephant and lion, Beastling merely jumped around him, using street poles to evade Beast Boy's attack. He jumped down from the pole, landed on Beast Boy who was in the form of a bear, and brought his fist down on his head, shoving his face to the ground.
"You're such a weakling. I haven't even tapped into my full strength yet," Beastling taunted smugly.
Beast Boy changed into a snake and quickly moved away. Once he was a safe distance he turned back into his human form. "I wouldn't celebrate yet if I were you."
Beastling cocked an eyebrow, and before he knew it two large pieces of rock, the sizes of cars, slammed into him on both sides. The rocks pulled away, revealing a thinner than a pancake Beastling who slumped to the floor.
Beast Boy gave a thumbs up to his partner who sat on a floating rock. "Thanks, Terra."
She smiled at him. "It was my pleasure."
A few buildings down a fight was taking place against Robin, Renegade, and Flamebird. Even with Robin and Flamebird's combined efforts the battle remained a tie. Something Robin noticed throughout their battle was that Renegade depended heavily on the weapons in his utility belt. Whenever him and Flamebird drew in closer for hand to hand combat he would force them back with birdarangs, exploding disc, and smoke bombs.
Renegade pulled an exploding disc and threw it. Robin and Flamebird used their grappling hooks to escape to the next building. They landed on the roof.
"Got a plan?" Flamebird asked, her hand armed with birdarangs.
"Just one. I need to get in close. Back me up."
"Can do," she said as she threw her birdarangs at Renegade who was soaring in on his grappling hook.
It cut through his line and he tumbled towards the ground. He rolled when he landed, but was quickly back on his feet just in time to go one on one against Robin. The boys threw kicks and punches, and Renegade managed to slice through Robin's cape with his spiked gloves before Robin tackled him to the ground. They wrestled for a moment before Renegade kicked Robin away with both his feet, sending him flying over his head. Both boys quickly got to their feet and stared each other down.
Renegade smirked. "I have the perfect weapon to use on you," he reached down to his belt and his eyes widened. He looked down to find his belt gone. "What the-?"
"Missing something?" Robin inquired, grinning. Renegade's utility belt was in his hand.
"My belt!"
Before Renegade could even think of snatching the belt back Robin tossed it off the roof.
"No!" Renegade cried, ready to make a leap for it, but was stopped in his tracks when his body contorted by an electric shock. When it was over he slumped to the ground in a pool of unconsciousness, Flamebird standing over him with her hand extended with smoke flowing off it.
Robin raised a brow at her and she smiled. "Electrifying gloves. It's new."

The battle was over and the Teen Tyrants were secured in a prison styled by the Team Titans. With everything settled morning came, the sun shining down on the broken city for the first time in ages, and the Titans, both Teen and Team, prepared for their goodbyes.
"Uh, so it's been cool, you know, fighting besides you and all," Beast Boy said to Terra, shyly stealing a glance at her and then quickly looking at his shoes.
"Thanks, Beast Boy," she replied before kissing his cheek. His face turned red and he smiled.
Raven frowned at the scene, looking away, and was suddenly pulled into Nightrider's embrace. She noticed that Starfire was wrapped in his other arm.
"If you girls ever get lonely you know where to find me," he said with a grin. "I'll show you both to a wonderful night out on the town."
"Quit being weird, Nightrider," Redwing teased, grabbing on to his jacket and lifting him up in the air. "You're creeping them out."
"You know, Robin, I could always show you around the town if you like. Unlike Nightrider I don't bite," Mirage said with a wink. "Unless you want me to."
Before Robin could say anything he could feel Starfire's green eyes on him. He imagined she had the same face she had while he was forced on a date with Kitten. He sheepishly rubbed his neck and told her thanks, but no thanks.
Off to the side L'il Lobo and Cyborg were comparing modes of transportation. L'il Lobo said his motorcycle could beat the T-car any day of the week in a race, and Cyborg vehemently disagreed. The two seemed close to blows before Golden Eagle intervened. Meanwhile Ambush Bug and Beast Boy were trading notes on different types of jokes. Flamebird and Robin watched as their two teams interacted.
"You trained your team well," Flamebird commented. "If it wasn't for you all... Well, I don't know what would have happened."
"It was nice meeting you, Flamebird," Robin said, shaking her hand.
"And it was nice meeting you, Robin."
Robin turned to his team. "Ready to go Titans?"
Everyone looked at him.
"Er... Teen Titans," he corrected.
The Teen Titans stood together as Golden Eagle activated the disc. It opened up a portal, and Robin and his team walked into the blinding light, the portal closing behind them. When the portal reopened they were thrown ontop of each other on the roof of their tower, Cyborg landing on top.
The half robot stood up and smiled. "Man is it good to be home."
"Cyborg," Beast Boy called.
"Hey, BB."
"Dude, you're like, crushing us," Beast Boy announced from the bottom fo the pile. Cyborg smiled sheepishly and quickly stepped off of his friends.

Back in the universe of the Team Titans... Renegade sat in his prison cell, his fist clenched as the light bulb attached to the ceiling flickered once.
"Brace yourselves Teen Titans... I will have my revenge against you and your universe."
The light flickered off and the cell was filled with laughter.
